Excellent! Cucumber salad with an IPA beer. Great! I am attempting to cut down on food calories while enjoying a brew. Wow wow...the cucumbers were excellent, fantastic, superb. They are like overly fancy, to the max pickle. I'm not saying it's a pickle, because they are not "pickled", but, but, how do I say it....fresh, crunchy, tasty, with a good "kick". The flavor is abundant. The pepper lingers on your tongue after you finish. Glory! Try it with a beer. I'm telling you. You will be satisfied with this starter. This is all I ate. I'm losing weight. Such a great place to meet for brunch. A friend and I met up for Easter brunch and had a wonderful meal. Great service and menu to select from. Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Spokane without question. You could go there a little dressed up or wearing cutoffs and it's all good. Great great great food. Dessert too. Portions are just right. My kids beg to go here too. It's where we go to celebrate anything. Revolving art on walls. Comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. My absolute favorite restaurant in Spokane by far. The food is made from scratch, tastes fresh, is flavorful. My favorites are the steak salad, the chicken curry, amaze balls, and any burger. Ambiance: This is an open space with a rustic feel. It comfortable, but is a little lacking. However, he Campets art work is hilarious and so clever haha. We had a good laugh. Service: our waiter was fantastic. He was kind, prompt, funny, and overall attentive. Not just wish us, but all the tables around us. Food: Scotch egg - delicious. Not usually a fan, but we had heard how great they were and had to try them. The flavor and texture were great, plus they were cooked perfectly. Definitely eat them with the pickled onions. Fried pickles - just do it. Sweet and sour beef soup - so flavorful. It's absolutely delicious. Lloyd's burger - the bottom of the bun was soggy from my soup, which was disappointing. They should refrain from putting the soup on the same plate as the burger. The burger itself was lacking in flavor and a bit dry. I wanted to love it - I just didn't. Chicken sandwich - my husband loved it. The breading was delicious and the pickled onions were the perfect touch. We didn't love the potato wedges though:l. They were undercooked and too thick. Nice space, exhausted staff, food was OK. Some adjustment to the menu is needed in my humble opinion. If the restaurant advertises a vegan version of an omelette in the menu, it should include a vegan egg substitute. There are some excellent options. read more

Comfortable casual little place. Street parking is plentiful. Seat yourself which is nice. Server was friendly but efficient. Checked on us several times. But the star here was the food by a mile. We ordered the green chili pork with tortillas, soup of the day which was zuppa toscana, and a scotch egg. Scotch egg was perfect, medium yolk, crispy on the outside, just perfection. The soup which is a favorite of mine, was creamy but light, slightly spicy, just what you want. But let me tell you, this pork!! Chewy tortillas dipped in the green chili pork. This is what dreams are made of. Slightly spicy, so much flavor. Must go. Don't walk, run to try this spot. read more

Spot was super casual, no parking lot, but good amount of street parking when we went around brunch time. They were kinda busy, with I think 1-2 servers, so we did have some delays. We were checked on right away when we sat and given some water. I take a long time to decide so I was fine with the wait, and the server was very kind and aware whenever there was a delay. We got the scotch egg which was yummy, and the Lloyd's Regular and the Omelette Española. The Lloyd's regular was flavorful and filling. I wasn't too much of a fan of the omelette, a little bland, but I personally am not a fan of omelette in general. The potatoes were delicious though. read more

The decor is very minimal, kind of rustic and we were looking for outdoor seating - there wasn't any and it was listed on Yelp as having outdoor seating. Did I miss it? I don't think so. So back in Spokane on another east Washington adventure with the pup for a couple days. Always like to check in with my Yelp compadres to choose dining spots. Never have been let down. Honestly, this is a tough place for me to rate. For those that regularly read my rankings, you know over the years I've come to withhold my 5 star ratings for places that elevate food to an art and provide commensurate service and surroundings. This is not that place, however I realized tonight I have this bias, which is 100% mine, so for those that follow me, go beyond my star-ratings, there is much good to be found in 3-4 stars. I was honestly disappointed when I arrived. I had expectations of perusing a vast wine list and savoring pairings with incredible food that's been transformed from its lowly beginning to something that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. I arrived at Elliot's in middle of a block with a serious "BAR" on the corner and no dedicated parking. At first I thought the bar was Elliot's and I thought about leaving. But there was a street parking spot in middle of block on opposite side so I pushed myself to get out of my comfort zone and check it out. It wasn't the bar, 2 doors down, dimly lit. The "seat yourself" magic marker sign told me all I needed to know. I realized at that moment I had a bias to be a food snob. I was walking through front door with a negative attitude from expectations not delivered. Less than 20 people in whole place counting patrons and staff. Ok I said, won't have to watch all the phonies taking selfies tonight and looking around to see who's noticing them. Check. Opted for 4 top table across from bar and TV as I gleely noted no sports ... a cooking show. Took a bit for my server to actually stop at my table. And my hackles went up. Then I notices there were 15 patrons in Elliotts and he was only staff. Never seen any restaurant where things were running well with 15 people per server!! Perused the menu and was ready when he came over and glumly asked "just 1"? I was ready ... do you have a Hefeweizen beer on tap? No ... ok, I'll take a Bluemoon. And I'll take a cup of the chicken and pasta soup, a green salad with balsamic vinaigrette and the steak frites medium rare. After I ordered, sat back and nursed my Bluemoon and took in Elliott's. It's a neighborhood Pub ++. Fully stocked bar dominates the place. Rest is open with tables, 4 top and up. So now I understood my servers reaction to "just 1"? No problem, I'm blown away by patrons. Local looking folks having fun, NO ONE HAD THEIR PHONE OUT. Too busy enjoying the pub ++ food, drink, and relaxed/community vibe. Out comes my food ... all at the same time, no staging. Soup, salad, entree. Here it is, all at once. Made decision to eat soup first, then steak frites, then salad. Soup is great. Hot and salt balance just right for me. 12 oz rib eye was good, not great (a bit too fatty for me), and accompanying steak frites (potato wedges) well seasoned, could have been crispier. Green salad a mess of green and red lettuce, 2 tomato slices and 2 cucumber slices. Balsamic vinegar was as expected, good not great. The manager/owner came by my table to see if I needed anything. I was wanting to hang a bit so I ordered a Pecan Old Fashioned I had seen on craft cocktail menu. Wow, wow, wow! A seriously good drink. House infused bourbon with roasted pecans, and maple syrup and bitters. Damn if it didn't have a Luxardo cherry and an artfully carved orange rind. Owner came by and I told him how much I liked the cocktail, and there is so much pride in his face and voice telling me about it!! Finished the meal up with a piece of flourless chocolate cake. Perfect. All that food with the beer and 2 mixed drinks, only $78. A pretty good value these days. As I'm happily walking out (yeah, some of that is the 2 Old Fashioned's), I'm thinking ... that was middle of road food, some interesting menu items ... ok service, decent value, but I'm totally relaxed and smiling ... so a good dining experience. I think this is exactly the experience the ownership would say they are striving for. This is an honest place, executing pretty well. Give it a try. read more

We have been to Elliott's a few times, and it has always been on point. The food and service has historically been good to very good. Our last visit yesterday (Saturday, Jan 20), was an absolute dumpster fire. First, after an hour and 10 minutes, our server, who hadn't checked with us once after taking the order, informed us that our order was never placed with the kitchen. Not great, but mistakes happen. When we finally got our food, the real story began. The green chili pork, which in the past was a very flavorful dish with slow simmered pork carnitas, was a bowl of green water with tough nuggets of gamey meat and gristle. My wife's chorizo green chili burrito, topped with the same green water sauce, had even less flavor, which is shocking considering it supposedly had chorizo in it. I generally won't give up on a restaurant after one bad experience, but this was so bad I'm making an exception. Never again. read more

I found Eliot's through Yelp and decided to come in for Happy Hour. Elliot's serves Happy Hour daily and has a good choices of some of my favorites; Scotch Eggs, Fried Pickles, chili cheese potato wedges and plain potato wedges. Everything's as delicious and we brought a group of kids back with us on the next visit. We came back to Elliot's for dinner and everything was amazing. Never eaten here and won't after the way I was treated by Scott Elliott. I asked if he could not smoke under the window of my apartment and he was really rude, telling me to shut up and get out of my buildings parking lot. Please be better Elliotts an urban kitchen, that was a really unpleasant experience for no reason. Also as a business, they need to remember that you're not supposed to smoke within 25 feet of any building. read more

At a couple of places where I like to breakfast, I asked the servers where they had breakfast. Both immediately responded that Elliots was their choice. So, off I went to visit. They open at 9:00 am, a bit late for this breakfast lover. I took a seat at a booth. There are open tables, booths and high bar seating. I ordered a house bloody mary (it comes as a double) and perused the menu. When first dining at a spot, I always order the eggs benedict (my measure for a future return). The bloody and the benedict were both well prepared and served promptly. The business owner stopped by the table and we had a very pleasant chat. The kitchen has been in this location for four years. Because of road work obstructions after opening, they relied on local foot traffic and word of mouth to build a following. There is no parking lot so expect a bit of a walk. It is well worth paying Elliots a visit. I was very glad I came. read more

It was sooo hard to choose between eggs Benedict and green curry at 10am but I did choose the breakfast route, almost - almost ordering the curry to go. I ordered the vegetarian eggs beny but then added ham cause I am such a modifier and my gosh everything was incredible. The benedict had perfect hollandaise and the potatoes were a perfect crispy. Wanted something different than the usual sandwich shop while in Spokane. I ordered the Classic Lloyd Salad, every item on it seemed very fresh including the Goat Cheese. If I ordered again I would add chicken. Or I would prefer addition of sliced almonds for a little meatiness and crunch. Husband ordered the Pork Green Chili, which was yummy. You could tell it was made with very fresh ingredients with a pronounced green chili flavor. The tortillas with a slight burnt edge were perfect combination of flavors.
