This place is absolutely wonderful. They host the breakfast for the hotel but we also went to dinner here one night. The ambience was subtle with a hint of bougie. Our server was very attentive. Answered all the questions we had with patience and grace. We ordered the crab and artichoke dip as an appetizer and it was divine. The crab was fresh and really had that rich taste. I ordered the Philly cheese steak and could only eat half. It was piled high with meat and veggies. My husband had the burger which he started devouring before I could even get a pic. We did get the cheesecake to go as dessert and a couple chicken strip baskets for the kiddos. The inside of the restaurant is attractive and comfortable, and if you sit on the East side you have a view to the inner courtyard of the hotel. You wouldn't know you're close to a busy street and the interstate. The food is delicious! The prices are reasonable and the portions are great. It's become one of my husband's and my go-to spots when we want to eat somewhere on the nicer side. Also, the starter bread with the combo of butter, balsamic, & oil is amazing. read more

We had reservations on Saturday at 4 pm. When we came, it wasn't busy at all. Although it's located inside a hotel so parking was in hotel parking and was a bit hard to find. We were seated very quickly and they let us know it was happy hour. So there were lots of awesome deals. I started with a few drinks, only $8 on happy hour menu, and comes with two whole shots each. They were very strong, but delicious. The inside was very nice and had nice lighting and booths. I got a few appetizers to try a variety of the happy hour deals. I got calamari which came with jalapeños and it was amazing and the sauce was delicious. And the sliders were amazing and the sauce paired perfectly. For the main dishes we had fish and chips, which were very crispy which I love. They also gave a ton of sauce which is great because I love tartar sauce. The fries were a little too salty but still good, and the slaw was perfect and had an Asian style to it. I also got a French onion soup which was savory, cheesy, and perfectly salty! I thought it was delicious. The mussels were my favorite dish. The sauce was outstanding and paired very well, and the baguette was toasted to perfection. I would return to get it again. The experience here was just OK. We called about 15 minutes prior to showing up to get a reservation for brunch as we weren't sure how crowded they would be. No problem, except when we get there, it takes 10 minutes for them to try to find our reservation. Meanwhile, there is plenty of open seating, but for some reason, they make a stand at the desk, waiting for the hostess to find our reservation. As to the food, the pancakes are a little thick and dry with not a lot of flavor. The scrambled eggs were good. The avocado and bacon sandwich was good except that the toast was way over done and hard to cut and eat. You could break a tooth on the crust. Our waitress, Kim was very nice and friendly. read more

Went here for restaurant week and thankfully made a reservation ahead of time cause this place was busy. Staff was on top of it I never had an empty water glass or dish in front of me with how prompt they all were. Food he's up to the hype and will definitely be going back soon. This place used to be amazing. What the hell happened? Starting when you first arrive, the folks who greet you are fairly apathetic and seem to want to be anywhere else but at this place. Never enough wait staff. Seems like they are always jumping through themselves trying to keep up. I am sure they are trying, but they are always so busy they always feel like they are in a rush to get to the next thing they have to do. You have to ask for refills all the time, if you can find a person to ask. For a place with such an expensive bar, you would think they would want someone checking on drinks as often as possible. I don't remember it being quite so loud here. I think they took out some noise breaks or something to cram more tables in. Not sure but even when it isn't busy it just seems really loud here. And the food. It used to be so good. Not anymore. There is a reason my family has spent several birthdays and anniversaries here. But I think we are done. All these changes seem fairly recent so I don't know if there is a lot of recent turnover or what. I also think these problems may be higher than the restaurant as the hotel it is housed in looks really run down and poorly kept outside. Such a great loss for Spokane Valley that this place has fallen so low so quickly. read more

My new favorite midway point between Spokane and CDA, I love the back patio and when it's nice and sunny out. The happy hour is on point, love the chicken satay. And the staff is so nice. Jeremey is the man, super cool and helpful and doesn't mind if I hang out for hours as I order Drinks, work and rotate through my meetings between CDA and Spokane folks. It's a perfect spot for those of us who go between both areas and the food is solid. read more

We had 8:00pm Valentine's Day reservations and didn't get seated until 9:00. We didn't even mind waiting -- we just sat in our car since the lobby was packed with other couples waiting too. Once we were finally seated at our tiny table, my glass was dusty and scratched. Then the server let us know it would be about an hour for food after we ordered because they were so busy. After already waiting an hour just to sit down, we decided to leave. She said we were the third table to walk out. I get that Valentine's Day is hectic, but it felt really poorly managed and disappointing for a special night. We won't be back. read more

We recently had Max cater a dinner at a local church for 80. Their kitchen team was most impressive, working like a well oiled machine to get each course out in time and on hot plates. They bent over backwards to ensure the kitchen was "quick and quiet ", and the food was superbly plated and delicious. Doug, Andy and their team helped make the event exactly what we had hoped for. Wasn't sure if I should give them one or two stars. We never received our food, so I gave them two. My wife and I decided to give this place another try after about 2 years have passed. Last time we went in we placed our order for breakfast and waited about 50 minutes with still food but lots of excuses. We decided to leave. Today we decided to give it another try. We were seating quickly as the place was pretty empty. Placed our order for breakfast once again and the server brought us our water and coffee. Then we sat and sat and sat with again our server saying, I'm not sure what's going on but your food "should" be up right away. Told this three times. After waiting 40 or so minutes I grabbed our server's attention and let her know we are leaving as we couldn't wait around all day for our breakfast. Again, she said I'm not sure what's going on! Uggg. Last and final time we try going there. So, if you have lots of time to kill and like waiting on your food order I recommend Max at Mirabeau. read more

Decided to give this place a go for Inlanders Restaurant Week. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty and pretty. It was quite understaffed that night but we still had a nice time. Beautiful restaurant, our waiter was so friendly and helpful. We ordered a charcuterie appetizer that had smoked dates, hummus, cheeses, meats, fruit, it was delightful and full of flavor. The others ordered ribeye and I ordered the salmon. The salmon was some of the best I've had. It came with roasted potatoes and sautéed vegetables. We didn't have room for dessert but I plan on coming back before I leave the area. The restaurant is attached to a hotel as well which I would be interested in staying at. Had Valentine's Day reservations for 7:30 and luckily, we only had to wait 30-40 minutes to get our table. We got seated at 8pm and ordered our food (appetizers, entrees, and drinks) around 8:15. We did not receive food until about 9:10 and that was just the appetizers which came cold. We ordered the wings, chicken kebab, and lobster bisque. We enjoyed them for what they were but for $60, they could have at least came out warm. We ordered duck as an entree and by 10, we still hadn't received it. Our waitress, who was working so so hard and whom we appreciate dearly, kept checking in and let us know 7 other servers were waiting for their food to come out. At that point, we were tired, and it was 10pm making it 2 hours of waiting at our table so we canceled our entree and left. Great happy hour daily from 3-6pm and again from 9pm-close. During my most recent visit I had the calamari appetizer and it was very good. The calamari had great flavor and texture. However, I was disappointed when I asked for mocktail options and was told they had a huckleberry lemonade; I'd like to see more creativity. A Dining Delight I stopped in to eat at Max's after a flight from California. I have been to Spokane Valley Numerous times over the years, and always wanted to check Max's out. Finally, I had the chance to as my flight got in earlier in the afternoon. I went there just a touch before 5:00 pm on a Saturday and got a seat right away. I had looked at the menu previous to my visit and know that I was going to order the Steams Manilla Clams. I started off with the soup of the day, which was a cold soup almost like gazpacho. The soup was on the light side and was a perfect starter. Max's meals come with freshly baked bread which I used to sop up that delightful last bits of soup. The Clams were served in a white wine broth, and came with two giant pieces of cheese topped crostini. The portion was much larger than I expected and although the clams are on the appetizer menu the portion size is almost a dinner entre size. The meal was fantastic and so was the service. I finally made it to Max's and do expect to return when I'm back in the area. read more
