I got my wisdom teeth removal here recently and I only have amazing things to say about this place. I'll start with the technical aspects - Dr. Cho is extremely smart and knows what he's doing. Prior to my wisdom teeth removal, he joked to my mom and I that he has a secret method for removing the teeth so that my gums and mouth won't hurt as much as others afterwards. But just as he said, the night of my removal was spent wearing off the numbness with strange feelings in my mouth as expected, but the very next morning it was almost like I never got anything done! The procedure and everything after was so smooth for me that my coworkers were also shocked at how it seemed so painless and different from their wisdom teeth removal experiences. Another thing I applaud Dr. Cho is his transparency. My specific teeth situation was a bit complicated and more special of a procedure because of how close some nerves were to my teeth, but Dr. Cho fully explained everything so we could understand the situation and decide between some options he laid down for us. Another big plus was explaining it in Korean for my mom so she could easily understand as well! Everyone in the office works extremely hard for their patients. The first consultation appointment we went in, we ended up staying for a half hour past closing time! While the receptionists went left for home after wrapping up their work, Dr. Cho and Dr. Erin Cho stayed behind to finish our consultation then closed up themselves and left. Additionally, when it came to insurance and payments, the receptionists did their best with checking with the insurance companies instead of just charging us whatever. Overall, a very 5/5 experience with this office! Of course it depends on your specific situation and insurance, but I can say for myself that I had a painless wisdom teeth removal with minimal payment and no problems 6 months out!

I called the office and left a vm explaining what happened. I used to be a dental assistant. You have to check the bite to make sure it's not hitting other teeth and dental work so this doesn't happen. I never got a call back and now I'm stuck with a big expense.

She is very detailed which is what I was looking for especially in the dental world. I just saw her again yesterday for a regular cleaning and I have never had such an amazing dental cleaning like my teeth look so nice and I was so happy with them. I have been a patient of Dr James Edmonds since 2001 when he was with another dental office downtown just a few blocks from my office. I had a bad experience with that dental office as a whole but found Dr Edmonds to be honest, ethical and not willing to follow the marching orders of a boss who was out to make money off of the county dental plan. The owner of the clinic wanted to do thousands of dollars of dental work that Dr Edmonds felt was unnecessary. At that moment, I knew I had found my new dentist. I was willing to follow him wherever he moved to! Flash forward a few years when Dr Edmonds left that practice and began working in Des Plaines. Despite not having any business or friends or relatives in the Des Plaines area, I continue to drive twice (sometimes more) yearly for my scheduled cleanings and routine dental care. I had a filling redone yesterday and it was a doozy. Despite a long time in the chair and tons of drilling, once the novocaine wore off, I had no pain of discomfort. Throughout the procedure, both Dr Edmonds and the dental tech, Rebeca, were courteous and sensitive to how I was doing, etc. From the staff to the decor to Dr Edmonds cheery disposition, I cannot say enough positive things about him and this dental facility. When I try to schedule a cleaning they are booked 4 months out. So it didnt happen. Today I called to schedule a cleaning again because the last time I saw them I was told to schedule it. But now they are saying I have to come back again for an assessment and x rays(more $$$$$) and then they can finally schedule the cleaning after that visit. Except they're booked through July currently. So here we go again. Expensive but good place for cosmetics. Horrible place for regular care. Youre better off developing a relationship with a more traditional dentist practice that can actually see its clients.
