We booked pedicures here because it opened earlier than the others on the island and we were in a hurry! So much for that. It took an hour and a half! Because they were understaffed (and took walk-ins ahead of us). They had one person that jumped back and forth between my daughter and I. Absolutely disappointed, came in to get a simple filling. At first my visit went awesome. She didn't really shape it the way I wanted but It was all good I just snapped it when I got home. But what was ridiculous is two days later ALL my nails are lifting. Now I have to go get my nails re done when normally I can go nearly two weeks until another fill. Such a waste of money going here. Worst nail experience I've ever had. I got a pedicure and full acrylic set. I specifically requested an experienced nail technition because my nail buds are very short from biting and I wanted them long (coffin style). I've had them done numerous times. It can be done well if done correctly. 1. They called and asked if I could come 30 mins prior to my scheduled appointment at 10AM. I live across the street, not a big issue. However, there was really no reason for it. Knowone was there at all. 2. I specifically requested an experienced technition because I bite my nails and it they confirmed that was ok, yet once I got there you could tell they were definitely not experienced. They had the younger girl shaping one hand while her womanizing father, shaped the other. Now I have to hands that look different. Keep in mind the gentlemen nearly refused to do what I asked. The daughter and older woman were just following what he told them. He was an asshole. 3. Pedicure water was cold, asked to get some warm water and I first was ignored until the younger nail technition came to help. 4. I specifically asked for long coffin shaped nails, the older gentlemen attempted to tell me that it wouldn't work because they wouldn't stay on as long and I explained I've had them done before and it does work and it's ok if they're not as strong. He was obviously upset and began cutting the acrylic shape. The younger girl worked on my other hand. I have one hand with too short style nails and another one that are medium short. The shapes are terrible. I even showed pictures and it's not even close to what I asked for. It was clear to me that knowone was experienced with what I was asking. It's one thing not being experienced and if you're not, just be honest about it. 5. They charged me $80 even though the costs don't match to what's on the board. They knew I wasn't happy, yet ignored everything I asked for. It was obvious the older gentleman was the boss. The older woman and younger woman were sweet but overall, terrible job and terrible customer service skills. 6. On top of this, they were not friendly at all. I would not recommend again. Called up to schedule an appointment for a pedicure and they said to come right down as they had an opening. I arrived within 15 minutes and was taken right back, Water was too cold and I had her add more hot water. I had a total of 3 different workers do my pedicure and they kept getting up changing spots and helping other clients all without washing hands, or changing gloves. An older man answering the phones did the massage way too firm and rough and I had to ask him to not press so hard. Bad file job on the nails, one round, not even and some straight across. Polish was missed in several spots and when they were drying I got up to get the nail polish and fix it. One of the worst pedi's ever and the place is below standard for cleanliness. I stopped in here to ask about getting a shellac pedicure, but I didn't have an appointment. I was greeted by a very friendly (and funny!) man who said I could come back after I visited a store next door. One of the employees at the neighboring store recommended I try Island Girl Nails instead. After a very unfriendly greeting at Island Girl and learning that they don't do shellac pedicures (what nail salon doesn't do shellac pedicures?) I found myself back at Clinton Nails. The pedicure lasted awhile but it was one of the most expensive ones that I've received at this type of nail salon. Also, the woman who did my nails clearly wanted to be anywhere else, doing anything else but a pedicure. Will find another place next time. read more

Please note Clinton Nails & Freeland Nails are owned by the same people. Two weeks ago my 18 year old daughter made us an appointment for new sets of nails. We hadn't done this in awhile and she thought she would treat us. The appointment was made for both of us at 5:00 because my daughter got off at 4:30. My daughter explained to them that we couldn't come any earlier due to our work schedules. We got to our appointment on time and we patiently waited for our turn. Due to Covid we had to wait for them to finish with other customers so we could be seated together. Multiple different people were quickly working on both of our hands at the same time. Even though they didn't close until 6:00 I felt like they were rushing and in a hurry to leave. A young girl who obviously didn't know what she was doing put the fill on my nails and screwed it up so bad another lady had to fix all of them. Towards the end of our appointment the employees started closing shades and turning off lights, the original employee who was working on my nails got up and left the office before she was even done! My daughter paid over $100 for both of us to have nice nails and that wasn't the result. Some of my nails broke within a few days, they didn't grind off the rough edges, and they didn't put the fill on properly. My daughters nails looked like crap too. Two days after her nails were done they started falling off!! I called the office to let them know this happened. They made an appointment for my daughter on Monday morning at 10:00. My daughter arrived for her appointment and they are closed on Mondays! I called again today to schedule an appointment for a fill, to have my nails fixed, and to get new nails for my daughter. When we got their the older guy told her he wouldn't charge her and to pick her color. We start getting our nails done, multiple people working on our hands again. Without putting nails on my daughter the lady starts to paint her nails. I asked why they weren't putting nails on her. The guy came over and said a bunch of stuff, half of which I couldn't understand. He said her nails were too short to put acrylics on, then he walked away. They didn't say her nails were too short the first time and they didn't offer to refund her money! My daughter naturally has very short nails and has gotten nails on multiple occasions from different places. I asked Nancy if they were going to give her a free set of nails when they grew out. She said no because they have no control over her nails coming off. I told her that if the issue wasn't fixed I would never return to their business. She didn't seem to care and did nothing to resolve the issue. She walked away to make a phone call before my nails were finished and yet another lady worked on my nails. Love, Love, Love! Nancy and the girls give the best pedicures on the south end. They will get the water just the right temp for you and will do any fun design you can think up, or will suggest something if you're not sure. They aren't pushy about doing something special at an extra price and I really like that. I'm a regular and have been for quite some time. I'm a relatively young grandma and have taken my granddaughters as well. They have 2 kid-size pedicure chairs for the younger ones that have dvd players attached. How fun is that? read more

We were looking for a place to get mani-pedis done for a wedding. Most places on Whidbey were booked, so we went here. It was empty (which was probably a bad sign in hindsight). There were two staff members on duty for the three of us - a young woman and an older woman. The older did not seem to speak English, but she would ask me questions anyways, in her native language. Then she would just do whatever she wanted. Occasionally the younger woman would translate. The pedicures seemed slow but okay. They moved very quickly, like they were in a hurry, but no one else was there. When we got to the manicures, the older woman (translated by the younger woman) said I had nice nails so she wouldn't have to do much. I think the younger woman thought this was a compliment, but then the older woman proceeded to do a fast, painful and sloppy job. She looked uninterested, because she'd be looking around while pushing my cuticles haphazardly around - jabbing at me. And whatever diligence she showed on the first hand was gone by the second. I showed her the issue of missing paint on one portion of nail and said they were all like that on the left hand. She placated me by adding a blob to the one nail, which still looked sloppy, while speaking another language (I am guessing complaining but who knows?). Then she ran off seemingly so the younger woman would get me to pay - or to hurry to... no other customers? The cost was very expensive and clearly not a good value. I was embarrassed to show my nails at the wedding! The "nice nails" I had previously are gone. I could've done a better job on my own. I've gone here on and off with my girlfriend. As a guy who has been to a few nail salons I go to spend time with her. The second reason is for the foot and calf massage.... I have no problem cutting my nails... Every time I go here it seems like they are in a rush. Today I asked the young lady to slow down and she didn't understand what I was saying which turned me off and the rush job made me feel like I would have rather spent money somewhere else... It was about 67 degrees and I was cold... my overall experience made me feel like I need to go somewhere else even if it is off island. read more

I was having a girls weekend with two friends and we decided to do mani/pedi's. We called in and were told they could fit us in right away. When we got there, two girls were seated and the third had to wait until the other two were nearly done to even get started. It had been explained we all wanted to sit together and have our services together, so it was disappointing. They barely do any massage. I received a Gift Certificate to Freeland/Clinton nails for Christmas. I went to Clinton nails for a full set and was told to come back in a couple hours or go to Freeland, which I did go back to Clinton and everything was fine. Fast forward 3 maybe 4 weeks later I finally had time to go for a fill and Clinton looked busy so I went to Freeland. I was told to come back in 15 minutes and when I did she looked at my nails and wanted to charge me full price for another full set because it had "been to long."
