I've still been trying to find the perfect food for my two dogs, and Kate provided me with very valuable information!

Next month we take our CGC class, and then it's going to be exam time! Not only did our class helpe us refine our basics in distracting environments, but it also made us a lot more confident for the CGC, and I can't wait to take the class and test. I definitely prefer Petco's training methods too- we've been to Petsmart as well, and at Petco I have more freedom to work in my own training style with what we're learning. Petco also has superior safety protocols in place, including a three feet rule between pets! This both impressed me and made me feel great about taking Lucy here because I knew she wouldn't be getting harassed by another dog. Whether you're looking to socialize a new puppy, work with an adult or senior, or hone the skills you already have, Petco is a great choice. Lucy is enamored with our trainer, Jackie, and if I could I would talk about our dogs together all day long! I have nothing but good things to say about working with Jackie. She is so kind and flexible with her clients, and as an aspiring dog trainer myself I hope I get the privilege to do some work in the field alongside her someday.

My dog is 13 years old and 14 lbs. She is a very social dog, not wary of strangers. No groomer has ever complained, or expressed concerns for their safety or her behavior during grooming. These groomers suggested sedation and were unable to bathe, clip her nails, or cut her hair. They said she was moving while they were trying to work with her. After going to a new groomer, I was told that she was one of the calmest elderly dogs that they have ever groomed, echoing a sentiment I have heard from many groomers. Do not come here. I am genuinely astounded by their apathy and incompetence. They deserve 0 stars and quite frankly, a new staff.

The brands stocked are reputable and not priced unreasonably for the consistent high quality that you will be receiving with many of these items. I would rather buy a cat bowl from a place with pet health in mind, which will account for the needs of the cat, rather than some random piece of plastic/potential lead infected made in China crap that may give my cat acne or make them sick. Your pet's health is worth it. On one occasion I entered the store, I overheard a clerk mention they weren't pleased with how a company responded to a cat getting sick to their product; so they removed it from their shelves. To me, this clearly shows they care about the well-being of the customers' pets! The food here ranges to accommodate all manner of diets. Raw/cooked, low processed, small-batch, locally/domestically owned business - high protein, low carb dry kibble - or a myriad of wet can varieties and brands to pick from. They sometimes provide free samples, which helps in trying new items for your furry friends when the price point can be steep.

It was not the return policy I took issue with (just a cheap, $10 item) it was her accusatory delivery and sudden coldness. I've since learned that this is a reputation the store has, which wasn't surprising. Will now be using another local option where the staff behaves with consistency, and the owner is lovely.

My sister is away on vacation and needed her cat picked up from the pet hotel because she wasn't eating, drinking, or going to the bathroom. The staff were incredibly patient and helpful as they assisted my husband with getting her out. It took about 30 minutes! They even let us borrow a carrier to transport her to my sister's house. While I waited for my husband to retrieve the cat, I perused the store. Pets have a good life! They are truly treated like royalty. I saw toys, premium treats, beautiful habitats, and even Halloween costumes. In addition to dog and cat boarding, other amenities include a grooming salon, veterinary care through in-store third-party clinics, dog daycare, and dog training. The store was organized, clean, and well stocked, and the staff were very helpful. In my next life, I want to be reincarnated as a house pet.

Finally, they came out with her bed and blanket but said they couldn't find her food. When asked, the guy at the desk said he called someone who had been taking care of our dog and said the wet food was given twice a day to help my dog poop. If that's the case, then they didn't feed my dog for at least 2 days. When we got her home, all she wanted was to eat and sleep. She wasn't her playful self. Now, when she walks for a few minutes, all she wants to do is curl up for hugs and to sleep. They said they gave her a probiotic to help her poop but I'm beginning to think she couldn't poop because she hadn't eaten. During her stay, she lost 1 pound and for a dog that wasn't quite 8 pounds, this is extremely dangerous. Also, when we picked her up at noon, they said she hadn't had her morning walk. Who doesn't walk a dog in the morning? Another thing that is not acceptable is the fact that they made changes from day camp to 1-1 time, so my dog was left alone for most of the day. They made these changes without contacting me or the emergency contact. They barely made an attempt to socialize with my dog, did not take her for walks, lost/misplaced her food and bed, and gave her a probiotic without any consultation or approval. On top of everything, they charged me more than what was expected and now I have to take my dog to the vet because something happened while she was there and after speaking with the veterinarian, they need to see her as soon as possible. I will never take my dog here, again, and will tell everyone to stay away from this place.
