Dined at Clocked this weekend. Delicious burgers and fries. The jumbo deluxe topped with egg and bacon was a perfect Sunday indulgence. The burgers are also very well-sized. I was able to comfortably hold it and eat it . . . .which can prove to be a difficult task with many oversized burgers these days. The cheese fries were not my favorite-I should have opted for normal fries with a dipping sauce. Both the feta and the chipotle dipping sauces were great! A very good meal overall. read more

This place has certainly had its ups and downs during the six years I've lived in Athens. I'm so happy to report that it's on the upswing after my last visit. The burgers have always been fantastic, and the service was great this time. Although prices have gone up, it's worth it for some of the best burgers in town. I'm partial to the Great Meteor, but also enjoy the Elvis (PB & Bacon) and Bronco. I always get the tater tots (I mean, you can't get them anywhere) with feta sauce. The sweet potato fries are also really good. It's a nice touch to get a piece of double bubble with your check (although the gum is really gross after 30 seconds), but it matches the Sci-Fi movie posters and old killer robot / dinosaur / alien movies playing on the TV. read more

Their burgers are pretty good, but I have gone with a group of friends before and we waited a very long time for our orders. It was busy, but tables seated after us and more people managed to get their food and finish before we got ours. I'd recommend for the food, but I would not go if it even looks remotely busy, which would be hard. read more

Sweet potato fries are becoming the go-to side for burgers. The menu says sweet potato tots but fries they are. Yummy. And the burgers. Our first time at Clocked was Saturday night. Janis and I went with the boys to enjoy some meat. Isaac got the standard cheeseburger and Jon stepped it up with the bison burger. I ordered the bleu burger and Janis went meat-free with the falafel burger. All were executed well and tastily. Isaac liked the free refills on the soda. Jon *loved* his burger. Mine was also very good. Janis enjoyed her falafel concoction but don't order it thinking it's a health food. Service was very good. We enjoyed the Godzilla/Ultraman decor complete with Ultraman videos playing on the tv. It's a little pricy with totals of about $10 a person after tip. But we all thought it deserved a return trip. The food deserves a 4 star rating but the service is the factor that makes the rating fall. The burger I had was delicious to go along with the tater tots. It took them about 10 minutes to bring me a menu. After that another ten minutes to come come take my order. The drink came 5 minutes after I had place the order. So it took a total of 25 minutes to just get a drink. The food came out about 10 minutes after. I would understand it taking long if it would have been busy, it wasn't. About half the restaurant was filled. They need to create a new system to attend their tables or maybe get new waiters, even though they were pretty nice to me. Tonight we were in Athens and found Clocked. We wanted a cute little restaurant and this looked like the place to go. I just got fries and a peanut butter and chocolate milkshake malt. The malt was AMAZING and the fries were stellar. I also tried a bit of a burger which was ok, but not anything to rave about. However, the service was very delayed. If I came to this place again it would not be for a meal, it would be for a milkshake! read more

Live in Atlanta, but go to Athens pretty often. Clocked is my favorite spot for quick, tasty vegan options. Their cole slaw is awesome, and the falafel sandwich is fabulous. Fun place. You have to order the Peanut Butter Bacon burger at least once in your life. It's amazing. Also, its not on the menu but order Cajun tots. Down that with a sarsaparilla. You can thank me later. :) Atmosphere is fun. The owner is an old sci Fi movie nut. So he's always playing some sci-fi movie you've never heard of but it's fun to watch in the background. Located right next to the 40 Watt club, this is my favorite place in Athens to stop in for a bite to eat before a show. They have a quite varied menu that is veggie-friendly, though most of their selections seem to tend towards 50's style diner food with a modern twist. Burgers, pita sandwiches, tater tots and all kinds of cool side items, plus milkshakes, malts, weird desserts and so on. The menu is great for its willingness to be an adventure. A 5 star goes to their best menu item: the unassuming, PEANUT BUTTER BURGER. Yes, a cheeseburger with a fat layer of chunky PB. I wrinkled my nose at this when a friend said how good it was. I'm not that crazy of an eater. But one night I ended up here and wasn't so hungry, so I gave it a shot. PEANUT BUTTER IS THE MOST AMAZING TOPPING FOR A HAMBURGER EVER. There's something about the consistency and the mix of peanuts with the meat that takes the whole thing to a new level. I know, I didn't believe it either. Try it. Give 'er a go. read more

I had heard a lot about this place before I went there (mostly about their eccentric burger ingredients) so I had some expectations-- mostly that I would get a big, juicy, melty and delicious burger! I have to say that these expectations were exceeded, although I will mention that I was starving by the time the burgers actually came out, so at that point I could have devoured anything and given it 4 stars. It was fairly crowded when we got there, but not anymore crowded than what you would expect for a Saturday night at 8. We had a 30 minute wait, which seemed to discourage some people but I was determined to get one of those burgers. And for good reason: I ordered the Blackberry Bacon Jam Burger and I was extremely impressed, I finished it in less than 10 minutes. The main reason I took off a star was that we ordered regular fries with cheese, and the cheese was literally just shredded cheese that had been melted but hardened onto the fries. Been here twice. First time had the bacon cheeseburger and fries, and that is pretty hard to ruin. Recently had the falafel sandwich, which gets points for originality since it wasn't pita bread filled with falafel and hummus, like 99% of all "falafel sandwiches" in the world look like. Instead it was a bun with a falafel patty. I felt like I was eating a sandwich and not eating faux greek mall food. It was good. My knocks on this place are that last time I went it was hot as dook in there. Also, their hummus tastes too strongly of green onion. Kind of weird. Wifey and I went over to Athens on a Sunday to purchase a bike that I wanted...and we met the guy at Clocked...as we heard that Clocked had spectacular burgers...and...we wanted a burger! Well...it did NOT disappoint! The burgers were excellent! Wifey had her usual...a straight up burger with lettuce, tomato, mustard and ketchup. She has declared it the best she has had in Georgia...which is saying something considering we both like Stax in Roswell and Cheeseburger Bobby's (various places) a lot! She was very quiet...and munched hers quite quickly! I had the Bronco Burger with gouda (yum!), BBQ sauce, bacon and onion rings...along with lettuce and tomato (hmmm...leave the garden off next time). OUTSTANDING burger...maybe not quite the best in Georgia...but...definitely worth the trip! Very very very good! I took the onion rings off (they were standard, frozen onion rings...not too good) and enjoyed the burger with the other condiments (including the garden)...but...the gouda...oh my goodness...I have a new cheese for my burgers! OK...French Fries...nope...we got Tater Tots...and I love Tater Tots with my burgers. Now, I am definitely a Fry guy...but...when I have the choice...I often go for the Tots...and these were very good (after we added some salt!)...they came out hot, crispy on the outside and potatoey on the inside...Yum... Ok so my experience at Clocked was a bit different than my last experience. I'm not sure why people are saying that there burgers are equivalent to fast food burgers, because I think they are one step up from fast food chains, however not as good as some other burger places that I've been to before (like H&F Burger or the Vortex in ATL). My sister and I decided to go here for dinner and we were told by the hostess to sit where we wanted. We decided to sit outside. One waitress brought us menus in the beginning, however, no one took our order at least 15 minutes after we arrived. We could have just left, but I decided to stay because I know the food is good. Once our order was placed, everything came to our table pretty quickly. We had milkshakes, onion rings, fried pickles (special), and burgers. I had friendship which was tasty (plus my first time having a non-veggie option). I ordered the blackberry shake, which was very good. The onion rings and fried pickles almost tasted the same to be because they were both extremely greedy. Overall, the food was a tad too greasy for my taste, and yes I'm aware it's fried food, but I had to use several napkins once I finished! I'm not sure if I would come back based on my experience. I wish I could give more stars, but the service (or lack thereof) and the amount of grease really made me reconsider. read more

When we arrived, there was a 30 minute wait, but we passed the time in the record shop next store. Then, we were seated outside at tables with benches, and although it was raining, the table was under an awning, so we didn't get wet. The service, fries (and tater tots), and Arnold Palmers were only mediocre, but all four of the different burgers we got were delicious. For vegetarians, the black bean burger was pretty amazing, and the falafel dish sounded pretty good too. If you're going to go, (which I would), make sure you sit inside, so you can have a back on your chair. read more

This is a super-cute diner with friendly staff. The counter is filled with toy dinosaurs and the walls with old tv show memorabilia (notably ultraman). The small tv behind the counter is always apparently always playing old Ultraman episodes. I came here today for lunch with a co-worker. I ordered a tuna melt with sweet potato fries and a coke with blackberry syrup and she got a falafel sandwich and a sweet tea. The portions were hefty (I couldn't even finish my entire meal) and the service was speedy. Other menu highlights (for my next visit) include tater tots, a vegetarian section, a separate vegan section, and a MULTITUDE of syrups to try in your soda. I wanted to take my husband to a good burger place when we came into Athens because I know it has been awhile since he's gotten to eat a good burger. We chose Clocked due to the well styled menu (yes, I judge that....sigh...I'm weird) and the peanut butter and bacon burger. We came in knew we just had to try that. At 11:30am on a Saturday, it was fairly empty, but started picking up once we left. Actually, when we started walking around at 11, the whole city seemed to still be asleep. We seated ourselves quite quickly and were given plenty of time to mull over the menu because we were being quite slow. They serve fountain coke which is a plus in my book! Food was good and came out warm. I got the bronco burger, which was probably our least favorite of the meal. The meat on both burgers was good and well seasoned - I enjoyed that - but the barbeque sauce on the burger was almost indistinguishable from ketchup in taste - too much vinegar/tomato and it really took away from the burger. The onion rings on top were still a little hard so when you bit into them, they didn't tear easily, resulting in a mess. The batter was good though. My husband got the peanut butter and bacon burger which was delicious. It comes with their house burger sauce which, for someone like me who hates mayonaise, mustard, ketchup, and anything like that on my burger, was actually really good. It went well with the peanut butter and bacon, perfectly actually. It is a messy burger, but I suggest you come in for just that. Fries were good, they reminded me of what would happen if Burger King made better, thicker fries. I still prefer more boardwalk style fries. Service was good and the place is really cute. I always try to come here when the weathers nice because the patio seating at night is just so pleasant. The hanging lights and breeze just makes my burger experience much more enjoyable. Sat inside once and was pushing my chair against the other tables so get a booth if you can. I always get their clocked burger cause I'm boring and can't bring myself to try anything else! The food is always good but the service is terrible. Whenever I go to order the server takes their sweet time to come to the window then gives attitude. Then, it takes about half an hour for your food. This has happened multiple times. The food is always good. I would visit more if the service improved. My husband and I went here with our dog and sat outside, our server was fantastic, he even brought a bowl of water for the pup and took good care of us. The food was pretty good, I had a house salad (the only gluten free thing they have unless you want to go bunless) it had pickled veggies on it which made the salad taste odd with the feta dressing, so I probably won't get those next time. Cool atmosphere, great location downtown, friendly and quick service, but the food and even the beers we got were not what I was expecting. For one the beers were some I've never heard of and after asking for recommendations the two we got tasted watered down. They need to get some better beers on this menu desperately! For food I had the tater tots smothered in cheese whiz (best thing we had), the Hawaiian hotdog special (also decent) and the banh mi burger and jumbo deluxe burger. They don't ask you how you want it cooked so they're all well done like a fast food place. Mine had so much curry in it I would say it was anything but banh mi style. Nice joint in downtown Athens, near the 40 Watt. I was drawn in because the place was just straight up cute and kind of funky looking. Plus, I took a peek at the menu on the window and suddenly was craving a burger. There were a lot of custom burger options on the menu, but I kept things simple and went for the basic cheeseburger and a cup of chili. They had Cheerwine, that North Carolina delight on the fountain, so I paired the meal with that. Beer lovers have a full slate of options from Bell's Brewery up in Kalamazoo to choose from. The burger was excellent. I sat at the counter and watched Godzilla on a small color TV and watched a guy in the back cook it up on a flat griddle. It came out with an impressive piece of lettuce, some fresh roma tomato slices, red onion, and a mayo/sriracha sauce on the sesame seed bun. The meat had a great flavor and had the right amount of juiciness. This IS a tasty burger, just like the "big kahuna burger" from that one scene in Pulp Fiction. The chili was a little weird. Not as hot (temperature and spiciness wise) as I would've liked but it had a good flavor, color, and texture. It was on the sweet side, so I guess it could be classified in the Cincinnati family of chilis. It was served with shredded cheese and a tiny little drop of sour cream. Still, it was refreshing to have something other than fries to choose from for a side dish. Service was friendly, and as it was just me they kept my glass full and were attentive while just letting me do my thing.
