Great business! I needed a specific movement and the original was too short...A replacement was sent out immediately and works perfectly!

Thank you Christian for the refund! I appreciate you going the extra mile even thought it went against your refund policy!

It's been almost 2 months since I dropped my little clock off for repair. The gentleman behind the…read morecounter bruskly informed me that he would try to find the part I would need to fix it (an eight year old Pottery Barn bedside clock) but couldn't guarantee anything. I had to pay $20 for him to try to find the part the battery goes in. Well, okay. Said he would call me when he had an answer. I've called twice since then. Had my ticket number and everything, but both times folks said they would call me back. Still waiting for a call...from SOMEONE. Bye bye, 20 bucks, methinks.

Four months later,January 20, 2012 I still hear Theresa say "the parts are coming in today" When I told her no, I want my clock back, you have been telling me for 4 months the parts are coming in. She responded ok you can pick it up as it is, it is all apart in pieces. The image of my trying to put the clock back together was frightening. I told her no, I want it back in the condition I gave it to you. She said you can pick it up this afternoon. Well I got my clock back IN PIECES plus monetary compensation for the mess. Satisfied that I received some compensation, but not satisfied that I was deceived over 4months and that the clock which had been in my family for over 40 years is now a bag of parts. Do not recommend this place at all!

    West Side Clock Shop

The West Side Clock Shop has very limited hours when they are open for business. I believe that…read moremeans they actually leave the shop, not that they do not want customers interrupting their work. This means nothing happens quickly. We left off two clocks for repair and were shocked when we were told 10 months until they'd be done. We called to check on them partway through and were met with a rude response since it hadn't been 10 months yet. We waited. We collected our clocks. The cuckoo clock "worked" for about a day before it started cuckoo-ing continuously or until the chain ran out. That means 130+ cuckoos!! When I brought it in for another adjustment which they did within a week or so, I was told I had a bad attitude because I was not confident that it would be fixed the second time. When I collected it, the woman at the shop accused us of doing something that caused the continuous cuckooing (pulling on the weights and not the chain). No. We've never done that. You didn't finish the job correctly. Don't blame the customer. Sadly, the second clock was also not done properly. This one is an antique mantel pendulum clock. When we brought it home, it ticked, but the hour chime was not synched with the hands. When it was 3:00, it chimed twice; 4:00, it chimed three times. Luckily, we had met another clock repair person in the preceding months who was able to explain how to fix it without another trip to West Side Clock shop. You are now cautioned to look further for another shop for your clocks.

They are upfront with the time that it will take and what they can do with the clocks. We took 2 clocks and they came back working like a charm. Nancy provides detailed instructions and is available for any questions. I just dropped off 3 more clocks to be worked on. When I picked up my first 2 clocks I could not believe the price. It was so reasonable and this was even with adding a gong that one of the clocks was missing. I could go on and on but their reputation speaks for itself. There is a reason that they are the go to clock shop for NY, Mass, CT and VT and I'm sure other areas. I'm so glad we found them as we love our antique clocks and won't trust them to anyone else!!!!

When I first arrived, the guy with the beard and tattoos asked me to leave the watch behind. He said he needed to look up the instructions. That should've been the first warning, but it was before closing, and I had a meeting. After a week, I had not received any updates. So I called the guy, and I could tell that he hadn't even looked at the watch because he mumbled something and said he'd call back. I got a message on my phone half an hour later; it was him telling me that the watch did not register time. Basically that it was dead. And that they don't replace movements for that watch, which was a G-Shock. When I went to pick up the watch, the guy didn't even know where it was. The floor is littered with boxes filled with plastic bags containing other watches. There doesn't seem to be any kind of storage structure because it took two people about 5 to 10 minutes to finally find the watch. And when I took it out of the bag the thing fell apart and in my hands. The screws weren't even fastened on correctly. So I basically took in a watch with a low battery, still displaying time, and left with a broken paperweight. The guy blamed it on the watch's age, or what not. But this was the first time I had the battery replaced, after five years of flawless functionality. Not anymore. This place receives good reviews, which is why I brought it here in the first place, but I won't return again. The one star is because they didn't charge me for the ordeal.
