So many things went wrong here.... Arrived at 5pm for a full day's job. The 2 men crew was only 1 man, and after the fact, I found out he was not as knowledgeable and professional as he was supposed to be. Eventhough very nice. The job was finished at 12:15AM. 7 hours a 20 minutes in total, after 3 people said it will take 2-3 hours only! The sales person, the installer and the installation manager at the office! So unprofessional, they cannot even estimate how long their job takes! I did not sign his paperwork, since we were not happy but that did not stop them from charging my card without even giving me a call to ask what went wrong. Even after texting with the sales person while the installer was still here on a Friday night! Measurments were so wrong, 1 of the closets litterly pushed the wall so that the room's door won't close. From another closet, we had to remove the sliding door so we could actually use the drawers! The "fillers" are not filling anything, they are ugly, long, bulky covers for the space between the closet and the wall, another mistake in measuring if you ask me. The total job quality is not good, the materials are cheap, some of the shelves are chipped, dirty and even too short and wiggly. The cocking is apparent and is on top of the shelves where it shouldn't be. The sales person will never tell you that you are not getting a back board to cover the holes and damages from removing your old closet or shelving unit. He will forget to mention it because "you were looking for something cheaper and the back board is very expensive...". He will also not recommend the correct shelves depth for the same reason. He will let you sign the contract and then find out for yourself that the 12" shelves are not deep enough for you and that whole those holes and damages on the wall that are now apparent were your responsibility to fix. But now it is too late because you already have the closets installed and fixing the wall correctly is nearly impossible. The shelves are already made for you in that depth that "you chose", event hough the professional that was supposed to advise you on what is best, or what is correct didn't because his only goal was foe you to sign the contract with the price that was good enough for you. No matter that what you purchased is a very low quality, ugly and not exactly what you wanted, needed or expected! After complaining about the poor service and poor quality job, they offered to come back and fix it. The holes (most of them) on the wall, where smothered with cocking, so now there are small mountains of cocking instead of holes. The large drawers I purchased for my son's room, where replaced by smaller ones since their measurments were not good and didn't allow us to have both the drawers and the doors for the closet! The toe kicks for the bottom of the closets are not glued or attached in anyway they just sit on top of the bottom shelf, maybe they didn't have any cocking left after smothering the wall with it. I'll give them that, the "fillers" are now actually filling the gaps and not just covering them. Nothing else was done, the fix didn't really fix anything. The sales person was not professional, he just wanted to sell, not caring that you will get something that you will be happy with. Would not recommend this company to anyone! read more

I had my rep Erick designed my closet which I loved. I got my installation done by Sergio and companion to perfection. However, the design felt short and two doors that were supposed to be installed did not fit because of the frame of the closet door. Thus far, they promised me a pull out hamper from the same material and I received a basket which I rejected and put a hold on my credit card. I called Michael 4 times without any success. I received a voice message from him to call him back. However, no pull out hamper was received. I received a threatening call from someone (I assume is the wife) sending me to the lawyers and putting a lien on my home. She said she can give me $100 credit for the hamper. I do not want the credit or the problem. I just want the pull out hamper. My peace of mind and happiness is not worth the $1000 in dispute. I will not recommend them and I for sure advise everyone to use the home depot closets which are a 10th of the cost. They also have installation as an option for a big fraction of the cost. read more

I do not want anyone to go through what I am going through with this Company: After placing all the clothes in the closet, you cannot get in the closet, there is a piece of material sticking out and the materials are very low quality. The Office was not installed as per contract, very low quality materials. The material has dents everywhere, drawers are not deep enough for filing. I have been waiting since the beginning of January for another install date for the counter I ordered that they failed to install. Now they said that they are going to file a lien on my property and send me to collections. They also wanted to charge me an additional $2,500. Revisado. Had two closets installed last month by CBD South Fl. Had to give half the $ up front & wait more than 2 months for an appt for the actual install date. I chose the morning slot, but the install (of two bedrm closets) took from 845a-6pm/the whole day. All shelves are supposed to be covered in white so you can't see the wood Inside; now that I'm using the shelves, I see at least 4 strips that were left bare. I'm most upset abt that in my written contract, I specifically requested extra shelves for the shoe rack, and the Installer said he did not have any when he arrived; after having to deal with headquarters in Pompano to request those after the fact, upon pick up, it turns out they gave me two shelves of the wrong size/don't fit any dimensions of my closet system. Ironically, I had Closet By Design help me with other closets in a north Palm Beach house and was extremely happy! But my current experience with this particular franchise has changed my mind about recommending or using them in the future. My advice is to be careful what you get upon delivery and look at every shelf before you sign off as saying the work is completed when it's clearly not. read more

This has been the most distasteful experience I have had with a National brand business. Their employees are unprofessional and miscommunicate information on the product and installation. Incorrect measurements and incomplete designs made this experience frustrating. When trying to voice my concerns and frustrations, the "Owner Angela" as she referred to herself, was rude and threatening. As a paying customer you should never have to feel that way when you are dissatisfied with your customer experience and the delivery of services. As much as I am pleased with the furniture purchased, I am equally pleased with Alonso and Gene who did the installation. They were extremely diligent, courteous, and thorough. My experience with Closet by Design was pleasant from start to finish. The sales rep Jasmine was so professional, knowledgeable and provided first rate customer service. I'm usually not comfortable with sales reps coming into my home because I feel they want to sell you what they want to sell you and not necessarily interested in selling you what you want. It's usually difficult to get them to leave. However, with Jasmine, I truly felt that she listened and gave me what I was looking for in a closet design, at my budget. It was such a pleasure to work with her. I have had custom closets before. I used California closets. In my view the quality no where compares to this company The designer was told specifically that I wanted to maximize space she left a whole section blank with nothing The quality in my view is on the same level as closet maid that you can do yourself. The only difference is the pegboard Is cut custom to the space and there are bottom coverings. About three weeks later Leonard delivered all the materials and put it all together over two days, all by himself, and did a very fine job. One shelf was too large and has to be remade and we are waiting for two locks to arrive and to be installed, which should be later this week. So this is my second review in a week. The reason for this review is that the installers came to put locks in my closet that they failed to do when they installed the closets ...they then tell me that the locks that they got were supplied incorrectly. my suspicion is that they ordered the wrong locks so here we are again, with no locks installed. However, they did have half of the system that they were able to install and they left leaving half of my closets locked so they're unusable. What a nightmare. read more

If I could give these guys zero stars, I absolutely would. I had a consultation on a Wed, by a designer who showed up at my house. Friendly enough, asked me if I wanted her to hear a mask, said it really bothered her to talk through it and how a lady at a previous appointment wanted her to wear one during the whole visit and she couldn't really talk. She asked what I was looking for. I wanted four closets outfitted with some double hangs and shelves, and was clear that I needed this done by a specific date, 4 weeks out. I was told that it wouldn't be a problem, that I would have the designs by Friday. On Friday I got a message that there was an emergency, and I would get them on Monday. On Monday I got a message that there was another emergency and I would get them soon. A week went by and Saturday I get a message that I will get the designs soon with a message basically saying: "My life is a mess and I am sorry. I don't know what to tell you, but if you have any changes or questions, text me." Un-phased by the lack of professionalism, lackadaisical attitude, and courtesy, I get a message telling me to keep them in mind for future planning, after I told her I found another solution.
