Larger, Oktoberfest-style tables off to the side and clusters of Adirondack chairs under a stand of trees. No views of vines to speak of but you feel like you're visiting your rich friends' exceedingly well-landscaped backyard. The drive from Queens to Mattituck took about 1.5 hours. We didn't have a reservation, but they welcomed walk-ins. Also, there was another Private Tasting Suite by the restrooms and kitchen. My good friend's dog barked, and a staff member snapped at us. We didn't let it ruin our first impression of Macari Vineyards. Cody greeted us at the bar, and Cynthia asked him about the sparkling wine selection. Courtney and John are always so hospitable when we visit. They go out of their way to make each visit memorable. At this point, they feel like extended family. I love the Mexican heritage of the vineyard, the Mexican food brings some much needed shaking up to that part of long island and offers a chance for people to experience some wonderful culture while having some great wine.
