Ok....so at Clovis pointe winery where we are members....national weather service sends us a tornado watch alert. Told to move indoors. Move indoors for alert to pass and owner tells us we're not allowed to stand in building. Tells us we have to go back on porch where our only protection are plastic walls which are blowing violently. Tells us we have to go back or leave. We chose to leave...did not pay our bill...and cancelled our membership on the way out. How do you put your patrons in danger for some stupid rule he can't even back up. He should have opened his wine cellar to anyone who was fearful of the weather. Several other patrons left under same circumstances! Bye Clovis Pointe! Bye Nash! Sorry to the sweet staff who were apologetic for situation! Bad business but never truly felt he gave a crap about us anyway. There all the time and never acknowledged by owner...only staff. Will miss you Heather! read more

Came here for a friend's surprise 30th birthday party. Our reservation occupied half the back patio where a view of the vineyard is easily appreciated. Live musician was cool and, most importantly, the wine was good too. This vineyard is particularly nice because of how far west it is (relatively). Easy to access, and, if you're not ready to pass out immediately, you can even get some shopping done at the Tanger outlets nearby in Riverhead. Tons of adequate parking too and very personable staff too. read more

As a frequent visitor to the North Fork wineries I definitely have my go to vineyards and I try to at least visit a new winery or two each time I'm out there. This was my first visit to Clovis Point and I must say I was rather impressed. My friend and I had a private tour, tasting and cheese platter. We met with the owner who was friendly, knowledgeable and fun to talk to. The grounds are beautiful! I enjoyed my tastings so much that I joined their wine club and purchased 2 bottles of their barrel fermented chardonnay and 2 bottles of "Artifact". Clovis Point is now added to the list of go tos as I thoroughly enjoyed their chardonnays, friendly staff and peaceful atmosphere. read more

Rob is the Wine Santa of the North Fork. Not only were the wines spectacular (try the Black Label Chardonnay, Cab Franc and Merlot), but Rob and the team were wonderfully engaging and insightful. We went on a summer evening and the dusk setting on the vineyard was spectacular. Definitely worth a visit! read more

We loved the area and the staff was wonderful however we arrived after they cleaned the flooors with Pinesol creating a very offensive odor. The tasting was totally affected by this and hopefully they will find some other cleaning method. read more

1.I will just cut right to the chase. Came here with group of 7 for wine tasting. The cost for a flight of 6 was $13. We reserved a table about a week ahead of time. 2. There was NO table service. So we had to get up and go to the bar everytime we finished a tasting size portion of wine. 3. Depending on which bartender was serving, you got either a sip or 2 gulps of wine (Since it was a tasting we expected at least 2 gulps). The inconsistency was annoying. 4. Food was a separate charge. The most expensive snack was $16 (assorted cheese and fig spread). We ordered the most expensive snack, some tempenade spread, and chips. Pretty tasty, but nothing special. *Overall everything was mediocre. Live music was a plus. The thing that ruined the experience for us was when we were finished with our tasting and wanted to order separate glasses of wine. As some members of the group placed their order at the bar, they were given new glasses. The glasses were short white wine glasses. I was in the group and requested to keep my glass from the tasting since I was having red and my original glass was a proper red wine glass. Christina the bartender informed us that the wine glasses from the tasting were only for special members and they were given to us by mistake. "If the glass blows over or if someone steals it, we will be responsible" THIS WOMAN SAID IF SOMEONE STEALS IT!! After we spent over $100 AND we had already been drinking out of a proper red wine glass since we arrived! THE NERVE!!! I do not think we will return. It was insulting. Classless. Personal favorite for many reasons! The servers are always warm, personable, and knowledgeable. The wine is delicious, particularly the 2007 merlot. The staff are always willing to go out of their way to make you smile and help you enjoy your experience. Will continue to find my way back here while on the north fork! read more

Great service and wine. They allowed us to picnic with the kids even though they typically do not allow outside food. During our tasting, the pourer was friendly and knowledgeable and the manager took 4 kids out back with a ball so we could enjoy adult time. The space is very nice and clean. Went with a group today for an event in the private room. The staff arranged for our group to have a tasting with some education about the wine making process. The staff member helping us was fabulous; he was extremely knowledgable and passionate about wine and not at all pretentious. The charcuterie plates we had were delicious. All the wines were great; some of my favorite Long Island wines that I've tried so far. The vineyard was beautiful to walk around, and the tasting room was spacious with an outdoor patio to sit and enjoy bottles. There was also live music! I would definitely recommend this winery for a smaller, less party atmosphere winery on the North Fork. read more

A very lovely vineyard with a truly excellent class sauvignon blanc. Sauvignon is lush, fruit forward with beautiful appealing notes of lemon zest and red grapefruit... with elegant mineral undertones and satisfying finish.. Very personal, attentive service from Hannah, and Robert the manager went the extra mile for me. Apparently, they often have great music as well. I would love to go back and listen to some music over a glass or two or a tasting flight or two. (Only minor criticism as they don't clean glasses between tasting pours. I don't mind personally but i know that that is an issue for some...) read more

Complex wines and a broad selection of varietals (one of the few wineries to produce Malbec on LI), they offer wines to suit nearly every price point. The staff is caring and knowledgeable, there is plenty of room for everyone to move about and the grounds are beautiful and carefully maintained. Not being a seasoned wine drinker I have often been intimidated by "wine tastings" and "wine tours". On the recommendation of a good friend I arranged to visit Clovis Point out on the Northfork of Long Island. I was guided through the tour and tasting by one of the vineyards owners who was both friendly and informative It was a great experience that I would do again. And by the way the wine was great. First a little background about myself...I'm no "wine connoisseur" but I do enjoy a good glass of wine from time to time, and I know a little something about proper hospitality in a restaurant / bar / winery establishment. This place BOMBED. The girl who was pouring the tastings had her friends in, which is fine, until they were screaming and being annoying about how "hung over" they were from last night. Unprofessional to say the least. The whites were good, which was refreshing because I'm more of a red man. However, the reds here taste like chemicals and smell like band-aides. Would I recommend? I called to make a reservation for 3 people. Right of the bat, they were rude and demanded a $60 deposit. When we arrived, they seated us at a table and said there were no wine tastings due to Covid (would have appreciated if they shared this policy when I called because other wineries in the area were permitting tastings). They also said we were required by NY state law to order food along with our wine, so we ordered spinach dip, prosciutto and brie cheese. The waitress dumped the food on our table--it looked like it came straight from Costco's (everything was pre-packaged). The food was disgusting and there were a lot of bees coming by so we threw it out in the nearby garbage. Then, a staffer comes by and rudely accuses us of not ordering food. We told her we ordered and threw it away but she didn't believe us, insinuated we were lying, and went to our waitress to verify. Then she came back and left a box of crackers on our table so we had food on it --no apology, nothing. My friends and I were so upset about the way we were treated, so we left immediately. We were the only 3 people of color in the establishment and felt very discriminated against. This place has nasty food and even nastier attitudes. read more

My husband and I are members and have enjoyed all our reasonably priced purchases. Went to Clovis Point yesterday with some friends; such a lovely atmosphere. This place is perfection and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Beautiful views and great wine. I truly recommend Clovis Point to anyone looking to have a wonderful vineyard experience in a low key environment. The live music adds to the great atmosphere and it was truly relaxing. Decided to come here this past weekend for just a nice sunday with some friends. We were greeted by the staff and manager with a very nice tasting. The girls doing the tasting were knowledgeable and all nice. After the tasting we got to enjoy the beautiful day on the patio and in the grass with the wine we had chosen with the benefit of live music for the day. Overall it was a great day good experience and great service and I would absolutely go back again. read more

Second time here with friends. Had a great time. Got a wine flight each and then a glass of our favorite wine and a couple of cheese platters. They had a guitar player. Bought a half case of wine. Stayed about an hour and a half. Then moved on to our next winery. The weather was great. read more

The place itself is charming. The tastings were over priced and the wines just ok. I could deal with all of that but I can't deal with the pompous & rude, I guess manager. We had been to this winery about a month ago and the same guy was beyond rude. There was a single rope at the end of the parking area. There's a right and wrong way to say things, I crossed over the rope to join my family that was just on the other side of it and he comes at me like I just took a lawn mower to his vines. He proceeds to tell me that I need to "go thru the entrance that's why there's a rope there". I'm not an idiot I knew why the rope was there but I also didn't think it was a crime to cross it. I thought it was there to let people know not to park there. Next he starts in that there's no coolers (I had an insulated cooler bag). 'That if I had read their web site I would have known". Again a right and a wrong way to say something. I said ok but this isn't a cooler, it's no different then the bags people had all over that were taking food out of. So I take the walk of shame past everybody after being scolded by this guy to put the cooler bag in the car. Fast forward to this weekend. The couple we were with wanted to go here so I figure I wouldn't say anything and go a long with it. We go in, spot a barrel / table to sit at. It had two chairs so knowing how this guy reacts we asked if we could take 2 other chairs from another staff member. He said yes. All good until I'm walking past and hear the staff person trying to explain why we were there and why we had 2 extra chairs. Talk about being on edge. I also want to give them credit. They did organize a Toys for Tots. However when the 2 Marines came in for the toys one of the soldiers was proofed. REALLY,! he could lay down his life for you but can't have a glass of wine. - But at least it was a complimentary glass. Do yourself a favor. Don't stop here there are numerous other places to go with better wine and much better service.. read more

Unfortunately after a recent change in ownership, Clovis Point is not the wonderful, accommodating and gracious place it used to be. We used to love to bring friends, especially from out of state to Clovis Point but we won't return. The staff was rude, including the manager, the prices have increased and there is a general arrogance in the air. Hope to find another local winery to support. read more

About 3 years ago i had visited this winery. The ambience is quite enjoyable but the wine is below par. On june 26th i had visited this vineyard yet again but this time with my wife and three children. And not much has changed, the wine is still terrible. Upon entering the premises i was told i could not bring in a cooler, ok . I had a small shoulder cooler filled with baby food that was on ice. The manager seemed petrified that the owner would yell at him if he let me in with it. I almost felt bad for him that he had no discretion what so ever. So the bottom line is this, if you want terrible wine and for your children to starve to death this is the place for you. read more

This vineyard is very small and quite boring. The staff is extremely unfriendly and the manager, Kelly was one of the rudest people I have ever come across. He is very unprofessional not to mention rushed us through our "10 minute tour". I will never be returning there ever. read more

The first time I visited Clovis was with a group of friends and it was great. The vineyard is beautiful and they even had a taco truck there to purchase yummy nachos from. The wines are delicious as well. They have a variety of reds and some great white wines too. The team at Clovis was also exceptional. They were super friendly, outgoing, and knowledgeable. Clovis also has some pretty nice rustic décor throughout their premises. I love how they have the wine barrels outside that you can use and seating inside as well. Its also great that you can bring your children if need be (they would probably enjoy being outside during nice weather). Definitely coming back! read more

I will never go here again and urge all others not to support this business. We traveled here yesterday as a group of 12 adult couples 41-52 years old. I feel we did the resposible thing and travelled from Smithtown via charter bus. As soon as we arrived we were told we had to leave since we arrived by bus and no one would be allowed to enter from the bus. After much pleading with one of the employees to no avail we left and headed to Palmer Vineyards. I can't believe we were singled out solely for arriving by bus. I will add that this was our second stop of the day and no one was disrespectful or intoxicated. We were all just looking for an enjoyable day out east with good friends. read more

My wife and I were here twice, once with another couple last year in 2017 and the other time by ourselves just last week-end [March 2018] during Winterfest. We went in the afternoon and had entertainment/live music both times.We enjoy dancing and danced both times. We also enjoyed the wine and prefer it to some of the other wineries. read more

We ended our Memorial Day weekend 12th wedding anniversary celebration at Clovis Point and we were sad to leave but relished every minute of it. Parking was quick and we were seated right away under the canopy in a corner which was perfect for us to view the entire grounds and enjoy the awesome live music. We purchased a bottle of Cabernet Franc along with the best fig and cheese plate ever. Clovis Point allows outside food if you wish to bring as I saw many partaking in this option. As we sat we chatted with a beautifully friendly couple in front of us and enjoyed their company. The place is great for groups but intimate enough if you just want to sit somewhere private. The bathrooms were clean and it's great they close later than most other wineries in the area. This was our second visit and certainly recommend you make it to Clovis Point. The name is great and explained on the bottle for your edification. We look forward to returning in the early fall. read more

I make one trip to the North Shore every year and look forward to a day of music and wine. We've been to a few different wineries and have always had a good time but wanted to try something new so this year I decided to take my family to Clovis. Upon arriving early at 12:15 we were promptly met by a manager who told us, with an attitude, that we needed to move our cars. In addition, he told us that the space we took up with two cars was space four cars could park in. Confused? We were too. Move our cars closer or move our cars? Not sure. So we moved our cars but before we could move he looks into our trunk and says "coolers are not allowed". We never had any intention of bringing our cooler. As we are all college graduates with the ability to read signs we knew coolers are not allowed at Clovis Point. We did go in despite the rude welcome and enjoyed the wine and music. Next year Jamesport will welcome us with open arms and we'll be more than happy to spend our money there. Without worrying about where or how we park. read more

Clovis point is the most enjoyable winery on Long Island. The wines are exceptional. I find the knowledge of the staffers to be spot on when describing the wines. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. I would highly recommend that if you stop anywhere in wine country that stop at Clovis Point. read more
