Stayed here for our 20th anniversary and it exceeded my expectations. Beautiful winery with a farmhouse bed and breakfast. The staff were super hospitable. Located in the heart of North Fork on Long Island, we visited Rose Hill with a group of friends, and it did not disappoint! The grounds are quaint & beautiful, it feels like you're stepping into a home and gardens magazine. They have indoor and outdoor seating, if you have a well behaved furry friend, they are welcome outside. Inside and outside seating is the perfect place to sit back, unwind & order some wine. For our wine tasting I ordered a Summer Flight which consisted of white wines & rosé. My favorite was the Coalescense, we ended up getting two bottles to bring home with us. My husband got the Red Flight. We were more impressed with their white wines than the red, just our personal preference for grown in this area They also have some light bites to order, but we just stuck to wine for this visit. We definitely will be back to this little spot and maybe even stay in the inn, hopefully on a warm day so we can sit outside and spend some more time just taking in the tranquility of this little vineyard. read more

We were excited to go here and it is a really beautiful spot- great for taking pictures for social media (I think that may be the point). They recently won an award for one of their wines but that wine wasn't on the tasting menu. They were overwhelmed by the number of people and maybe they hadn't expected that crowd. We were celebrating our anniversary and want to make an adventure into wine country. It's far but worth the trip. Let's start off with the grounds. The greenery, chairs/benches, and cushions, canopies and colors that popped. You walk in and checked in at the hostess stand. The staff were absolutely a treat and genuinely nice individuals. They gave us an option to pick our seats on the patio but there were options to avoid over crowding. There was a low tone of music as background sound but there was a low tone of conversations buzzing. It was a spot to set multiple vibes-romantic, celebration, family etc! We went on a Monday day but there was a beautiful breeze and the canopies above us provided well needed shaded for when the afternoon came. Let's get down to the food and drinks! We were on an adventurous vibe and wanted to dabble. That's why we went for the flight. It was also a great conversation piece to talk about each one and the order in which they were placed. It's nice on the tray underneath each glass there was a description of the flavors. The charcuterie board was delicious, the meats and cheese were so fresh. It paired nicely with the condiments of fig and the grain spread. The only thing was wanted was grapes. The crackers gave this delicious crunch and texture. I enjoyed the small pickles and I would have also love a few olives. We got their whipped ricotta, it was creamy and delicious. The bread I thought had a crunch to it. These were a great pair to get because we kept going back between the two and making combinations. We split this for two people but could probably accommodate 3,possible 4 people. At the end we got our check and went into the gift shop. They had candles we got for my mother in law. They had shirts, sweaters, and cookbooks. You could've also bought the wines that were on the menu by the bottle. I did also purchase a hat it was actually do stinking cute! Great find and off the usual wine path. The ambiance is outstanding, whether indoors or out. The wines lean a bit on the more expensive side, but they're solid. Excellent spot to sit and enjoy a bottle, without the concern of a party bus pulling in. We ordered the summer flight and the red flight. My wife and I are usually more into red, but the whites took the day. The cement blonde and the Riesling were the standout Excellent flavor, great body, and really helped combat the heat. Variety was on point with 5 wines in each flight and they were each distinct. However at the price point of 30 per flight the pours were a bit short compared to other stops on the north fork. Lastly is the shop. Very quaint setup. Good variety (soaps all the way to infant onesies) and my wife loved the softness of the sweatshirts. You pay for your wine in the shop, so it's worth the walk around to determine if you'd like a souvenir. All in all, Rose Hill is a great option for a quieter relaxing afternoon with reliable wine. read more

Came here for a 2nd winery tasting on the same day. We got the Lobster sliders which were packed with lobster but there's two, as well as the pretzel basket which comes hot and delicious! They are pricey though. We were there for Valentine's Day and no one told us about the chocolate covered strawberries until we were leaving. And no they were not too busy. I came here for the first time this past weekend and it wasnt a sunny day, it was pretty gloomy and it rained earlier but there was a still a good amount of people at this winery so I could only imagine what it would look like on a good day. I was very happy we found this place. It has ample amout of seating in so many different areas as well as inside and outside. This was our third winery that day so we ordered a nice glass of wine and it was delicious. We had no problems finding seating and there was a lot of picture opportunities. What a beautiful place. There are so many different places to sit whether it's a chair, couch, lounge area. Absolutely stunning. We ended up sitting in the barrel room. You can see the vines through the window. They had food and wine but we only did the wine. I saw people with charcuterie boards and they looked amazing. I was interested to try a flight in order to try as many wines as I could on my trip. I chose the Spring Flight. It was a mix of wines. I prefer white ones but it was a pretty good assortment. We've had a great time here on a couple of occasions now. The set up is great. I love the smooth transition from the vines to the grassy shaded seating area to the covered seating. The gift shop and bathroom are well maintained and the tasting room has a cozy, lively vibe. Our white wine flight was tasty and our girls appreciated and subsequently loved the cookie flight. The hummus dip was fresh and paired well with our flights. We also enjoyed a book signing here with local artist, Kara Hoblin. Rose Hill seems to be doing great things for the local community. Rose Hill is a favorite of ours. We love the outdoor patio, and in mid November, with spring-like weather, what a perfect choice for a glass of your favorite wine and a snack. I feel like my usual start to any winery/vineyard review is that I'm not a big wine guy...but maybe at this point I'm more of one? I mean I do like the occasional glass and I'll order other things (besides beer) so perhaps I've reached that point of libation balance...or perhaps it was Rose Hill that finally pushed me over the edge. Back in July my wife and I visited here and it was quite a tasty trip. Located a little off the beaten path, Rose Hill has a very chill vibe, albeit with an Eastern Long Island/North Fork price tag. The items available are not the cheapest, but the quality was mostly there to warrant the cost. Before we get to what was ordered, I'll go back to saying the setup was lax with a handful of umbrella-covered tables nestled between the Rose Hill buildings and opposite the rows of vines. It gave off a feeling of not entirely being on Long Island which was a nice start. What was also nice was the staff. Some younger people working, but they were relatively tentative and friendly. Our wine (her flight and my glass) came out quickly as did the olives and bread with ricotta spread. The food was delicious though it can be difficult to ruin such simple things. More importantly, the wine was quite good. My wife had a variety of flavors that I liked, but to be honest, I don't remember them. This is not to say they weren't enjoyable, but my focus was more on one word: Mojo. Their Cabernet Franc wine was superb (with the Mojo name) and it hit me in a way that many wines just don't. There was some nice smokey and fruity notes which were so perfect I had to buy a bottle. Now I might sound cheap, but I don't usually purchase $30+ bottles of wine, so for me to grab this bottle meant something. Having said that, I don't know how often I would shell out the cash. Overall, Rose Hill was a fine winery with a nice setup, good grub (for the small bites we got) and some hefty wines. I'm not a four dollar sign Yelp guy (or even three much of the time) yet Yelp has this spot listed as only two dollar marks. Hmm. Maybe I'm penny pinching in my older age? Regardless, I'd gladly return to Rose Hill if I was looking for a vineyard that I know will be enjoyable. read more

I want to start by saying I been coming to Rose hill since it was shinn estate and I can't believe how much more beautiful it keeps getting. I was there last Saturday for my daughters 21st birthday with our family and Cody was exceptional! He treated us with such grace and very welcoming. He made my daughters day feel so special! The back room was so beautiful and the wine is always one of my favorites from a lot of the wineries. The appetizers always so yummy too. But again I been to other wineries that totally been rude or the wine is horrible but yet people continue to go but I won't name them. Solid winery situated a little off the beaten path from the other dozens of vineyards on the North Fork, which makes Rose Hill feel a little more intimate, in my opinion. They do take reservations, but my mom and I had no trouble getting a table as two walk ins on a Saturday afternoon. Seating options include a grassy area near the grapes, a patio and an indoor option that looks like it's used for private tastings. I decided to try the summer flight which had a really nice mix of sweet and refreshing options. I liked their Riesling so much that I ended up taking a bottle home with me. We split the charcuterie board as well which had a nice variety of cheeses, meats, crackers and jam to spread it on. Overall I really appreciated the vibe of this place. I loved it here. I was in the area and decided to look up the top vineyards. I'm so glad I found this place. I visited during the summer and it was very rainy out. Their outside seating area was closed and the inside seating area was relatively empty. They were giving tours while I was there as well. I loved all of the wine I tried during my visit. Beautiful vineyard on Long Island. Definitely a little more modern and up to date compared to some others around it. There's a covered patio, interior, and field area (some coverage). We sat on the covered patio. I will say, somehow the architecture creates a heavy breeze on the patio (not apparent elsewhere). Bring a sweater if the temperature isn't too warm. We intentionally chose a winery that was more "off the beaten path" by Hamptons standards and we absolutely picked right. The views of endless vineyards and intimate vibes were just what we were looking for. My partner and I stopped here for a couple flights of wine, the Harvest for her and the Red for me... each flight has 5 different wines. The harvest flight is comprised mainly of whites and roses, whereas the red flight is all reds. We also had a charcuterie plate which nicely accompanied our wines. The tables outside are nicely set up...you can also choose to sit inside a comfortable lounge area. The prices are expensive compared to other vineyards, but you're also paying for some nice ambience. We ended up buying 4 bottles of their Coalescence, which were $25 a bottle and came with a tote bag that's free when you buy 4 bottles. We recommend trying this place at least once! read more

A Perfect Day for our 1st experience at Shinn Estates Vineyard. We were Pleasantly surprised upon arrival, it is tucked off the main road & a nice size vineyard. We order a bottle of their Boar Doe-Old World Blend which was good choice for us. We weren't a fan of the Malbec they currently have. We order the cheese platter which was good for 3 people. Then we order the lobster sliders which come with chips. I would of loved more of the lobster instead of the lettuce. Then we had the pretzel which was delicious. The staff was a 5 plus! Every summer I pick a new vineyard to visit on the north fork. This year my best friend and I went to Rose hill and loved it. The wine and small plates were delicious. I love a pretty ambience with good service. They have a small shop which I bought a a souvenir. I would absolutely come back. The girl at the shop informed me Croteaux vineyard is their sister vineyard; that is another favorite of mine. I learned to love Rose' because of Croteaux. Our first stop on a girls outing, and I could've stayed here all day! We had excellent service, the wine was great, and it's such a pretty setting. We ended up splitting a flight and swapping the Riesling out for a Bordeaux blend (I'm not a Riesling woman by any means!), and going with a bottle of the sparkling rose. This winery only accepts walk ins which, as a planner, I did not like. The inside tasting room was packed and luckily we found seats at the bar. The tasting room/bar was very nicely decorated and it was cool to see tables in a room full of wine barrels. Maybe it was because we sat at a bar, but it just didn't feel like I was at a winery. There were many large groups and the noise level was high. I didn't think the grounds was anything to write home about and I didn't like how we had to go to another location to close and pay for the tab. Love the vibe of this place. They have redone the winery and made it more modern with plenty of outdoor and indoor space. There is a cute gift shop which sells everything from candles and tees to wine etc. I liked the first fruit white which as a red wine fan was definitely not my first choice but a good summer wine to share with friends. Very reasonably priced too. We also had the charcuterie board which was ample for 4 people even though it was slated to serve 2-3 people. This is as a great place to hang out and enjoy. Perfect place when your out east on a beautiful day to go with friends and family, they have a beautiful indoor space as well as an outdoor patio and field, lots of places to sit. It's really cool you can actually watch them make the wine, when I was there the gentleman was pouring the grapes into the machine was actually really cool to watch especially during the hours they had customers. The service is a little slow so prepare to sit there for 2-3 hours but it's worth it! The wines are delicious and the food is good! They have a little shop where you can buy the wine or candles/ scarfs hats. I bought one of the candles and a scarf and my god it smells delicious and the scarf is so soft. They actually have a bed and breakfast on the premises but I actually never stayed I heard they get pretty packed during peak season. Definitely worth going and staying a night read more
