This vineyard was the highlight of my weekend trip to Greenport. A good place for friends and family to get tipsy. One of the most memorable things about Jamesport Vineyards is actually the pizza. To be honest, the location is gorgeous with large wooden benches indoors and opening up to a large field and stage area with seating for live music outside, all along a water front. But again, the pizza. With ingredients including house-made mozzarella, hot soppressata and Mikes Hot Honey, the oven fired pizzas made fresh to order are the star of the show. The unique brews on draft vary constantly and are sure to please whatever you palate is in the mood for. If you are on line for the bar, you can see the drink selections on the floor mounted menus while waiting to speed up your choices. Bar tenders are friendly and can help make selections according to your preferences. There is also plenty of parking. Side note, a wedding party was heading down from the second floor of the building when we visited, so if you are looking to host a party you may also want to inquire about options here taking into account the available views. read more

Another birthday celebration! This time my friend and I did our traditional trip to the north fork for a visit to the vineyards. We tried Jamesport and really enjoyed our time there along with the food and wine. Wine flights are $27 dollars and you can do a flight of red, white or mixed. We went with the mixed which included a white blend, Riesling, a rosé and finally a red blend. The rosé was my fave, so I ended up getting a second glass which was just as refreshing as the tasting. One of the reasons we picked Jamesport was the food options. The brick oven pizza was a welcome addition to our table as we tackled our flights. We also went with the ricotta and apple crostinis, marinated olives (incredible) and the burrata. All were brought out with our pizza which had mozzarella and prosciutto on it. I wish we had the starters a little before the pizza but everything was so delish and we probably would have mixed everything anyway. Our server was great and attentive. Knowledgable about each of the wines and was patient with our ordering. The place itself is a lot smaller than I expected, but most of the inside is taken up by viewable wine making equipment. It's pretty cool that all of it is viewable. The outside area is nice too. Again not very big, but rustic and relaxing. read more

Jamesport Vineyard created a wonderful experience for us! They held a Jazz concert on the grounds of their beautiful vineyard. Now I actually drove to Woodstock to see this band perform. When I saw tickets being sold in Jamesport, I was the first one to snag two tickets. The vineyard had a very nice stage set up. It was a large tent, enough to accommodate both the band and patrons. Now (just a pet peeve) I'm at an outdoor event. I'm not going to the event dressed in shorts and boat shoes with no socks. Let's show a little Savoir Faire, I mean it is after Memorial Day? My white linen is my acceptable wear to the vineyard, do you agree? I went inside, purchased a bottle of wonderful Riesling for my lovely wife to enjoying while listening to jazz. Hidden Gem in Wine Country! Out of the four tasting rooms we visited, Jamesport Tasting Room was hands down the standout! Not only did we enjoy a fantastic wine tasting (the Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Italian Lagrein were all delicious), but the value here is unbeatable. Unlike most wineries in the area, Jamesport actually offers a discount when you buy bottles directly--no price gouging or sticker shock. It's refreshing to support a local business that doesn't make you choose between great wine and your budget. Location/Interior: The restaurant area was a small area with a bar and a look into the production of the wine. Cute little barn/rustic vibes. When you go to the outside seating it's expansive. Plenty of seating and tables. Trees and shading. Food/Drinks: I did not order any food but the wine was on point. Our server was attentive and explained each wine in great detail. We have been going here for years, every time we are in Hampton Bays. We even belong to the monthly wine club. It is lovely in the summer because you can sit outside near the vineyards, but indoors in the colder weather is fine, too. We always have lunch (all the pizza is good, esp the Buddy Boy.) The food was all fantastic and came out quickly. The hostesses and servers were all very friendly. I didn't love any of the wines but they were fun to try plus I am really picky. That said, the second wine of the mixed flight - the east end white blend - was not bad. We had such a wonderful experience. It was a slow day, so we went to taste some wine. We sat at the bar and our server was fantastic. My husband got the pizza and he absolutely loved it. I got the salad and it was just divine. We come from Washington, so we have amazing wine out where we are. The wine on Long Island is great, but not as full bodied it seems like. Enjoyed the Valentine's Day red wine & gourmet chocolate pairing which came with three delicious wines. (2020 Estate Cabernet franc, 2021 East End lagrein, 2020 Estate Merlot). All were really solid if you like the light to medium bodied wines. Hard to decide a favorite between the Cab Franc and the Lagrein. For food the ricotta and apple app was perfect. Nice and light and refreshing. The Buddy Boy pizza was fresh out of the wood fired oven and damn it was good. It's on the spicy side so be prepared. The last time I came with plenty of time to spare the hostess was immediately reminded us the kitchen is closed and 21 years and older seemed excited to just thwart us away. I enjoyed this spot so much on my vacation from California that I went back for more. This is a beautiful place from the outdoor gardens to the tasteful wines. I loved the white blend and the special read that I can't think of the name. I think it starts with an L. I tried the Albarino, Sauvignon Blanc, rosé, and some of the reds. They had amazing live music on Friday playing all my faves. The service was on point for how busy they were. And the food OMG hands-down one of the best Caesar salads and that octopus entrée I added mushrooms was orgasmic the spice and the zest. We loved Jamesport Vineyards! There is so much shaded outdoor dining area and it's just beautiful outside with space to also walk among the vines. Very Covid safe. The sweet Riesling is so good! My husband who doesn't like too sweet even liked it, it's pretty balanced. It's nice how the flights let you choose what you'd like. The pizza is amazing! We had the fun guy and really enjoyed it. It's charred just a bit and thin with a great tasting crust and fresh ingredients. It's definitely big enough for 2 for lunch. The staff also seemed nice. Love love loveeee it here! We are HUGE winery people and shockingly had never been to this one until this weekend. My husband and I had wine favors at our wedding with wine from Jamesport and everyone raved about it so we felt it was only right to try them out. Right off the bat, the place is beautiful. The outdoor area is large, spacious, and beautifully landscaped. On a warm evening in May, I could have sat out there forever. They was a cold water dispenser outside which I so appreciated. Our server, I wish I could remember her name, was fantastic! I had the white flight and throughly enjoyed everything I tried. My husband loved the Sauvignon so much, we bought an entire case! The four of us split 3 pizzas which was the perfect amount of food (we had three pieces leftover) and all 3 pizzas were delicious. Personal favorite was the fun guy. This was a great place. The staff was extremely friendly. We had a great day outdoors, even though it was a scorcher that day. Luckily, they've got picnic style tables covered by umbrellas. Currently they only take reservations. so not drop in. Making reservations was super easy, Go to website . They ask for a 5$ fee per person but once u arrive they return the fee to you card. The tasting was a bit pricy, 25$ thankfully the pour was generous. I loved how we can choose what wine we wanted to taste, that was refreshing. Our waitress/ hostess Jennifer was so knowledgeable and helped us tremendously. We started with cheese meat platter, super delish and Serrano was amazing. We finished with some pizza. The Serrano had a lemon ricotta Serrano ham and pesto sauce. After the tasting and pizza we purchased a crafe of house white wine and we were able to sit outside in Adirondack chairs to enjoy the view.. The margarita pizza was fantastic. The sauce on the pie was the best I have ever had. Trust me, my wife and I grew up in Brooklyn in the 50's and 60's. We know from good pizza. Great little tasting room! It shines in the warmer months with a variety of seating choices from two tops to long, picnic-style tables as well as a shaded, gazebo-like area. The lawn is well manicured with small flower beds throughout and a separate outdoor sitting area that seems to be reserved for wine club members. Nice view of the vines as well. Inside features a longish bar with more small tables. A larger separate room off to the side is for bigger groups, I assume. Glass walls afford a view of some of the fermentation tanks. Typical small snack trays of cheese and charcuterie are available but the pizzas churned out by Little Oak Wood Fired Kitchen really shine. The Buddy Boy (house made Mozz, hot soppressata and hot honey) is our current favorite and paired really well with the estate Merlot. Chris was our server our most recent visit and was very attentive, polite and helpful. Reservations are required though they have been kind enough to squeeze us in on occasion. I've visited Vineyards in Tuscany and Napa and Jamesport makes those experiences feel inexpensive. Seriously. I've been wine tasting in this area before, so I guess this is just the first time that I wasn't too drunk to care. It's like $25 for some cheese, and then you need to pay another $12 for crackers and another $7 if you want them to bring you over a jar of hot honey. Wine flights are over $30 dollars and glasses are $16-18+. So yes, for sure pricey. We went for the artichoke and goat cheese pizza, which seemed like a bit of a better value for twenty dollars. The pizza was actually super tasty and had a generous amount of artichokes and olives. Unfortunately the showing of goat cheese was pretty unimpressive. Though the wine was pricey it also was delicious. The cab reserve was silky and smooth and I could most definitely tell that I was sippin' on some classy wine. At lunch on a Saturday the winery was absolutely packed out. Not surprising because it's more like a hybrid winery / restaurant. So while some were visiting for wine tastings it seemed like many others were just in to enjoy some lunch. I'd love to come back in summer when I can enjoy the outdoor property. I'd also love to come back a tad more inebriated, or on a pre fixe wine tour. At least then I can forget about the fact that I'm spending a small fortune to enjoy some wine and cheese. read more

I ventured out to the farms and sunflower fields in Long Island on a beautiful summer day. My friend and I decided to also grab lunch and check out some vineyards around the area. Then I stumbled upon Jamesport Vineyards on Yelp and was super excited when I saw that they serve wood fired neopolitan pizza and a good selection of appetizers. I went on a weekend in August and it was by reservations only. However, I was able to make a last minute reservation for 2 at 1:30pm on a Sunday and was able to get a table inside. Unfortunately, the outdoor seatings were booked up. You have to pay $5 per person to reserve a table but this will be refunded if end up dining at the restaurant. I ordered a burrata appetizer and buddy boy pizza to share. The burrata was super refreshing with the basil pesto and fresh tomatoes straight from their garden. The pizza had a kick to it which I love and it was balanced well with the honey. The pizza crust was also delicious and fragrant from the wood fired charring. In terms of wine, we tried the sauvignon blanc. The flavors were crisp with a delicate aroma and taste of green apples and pears. This was the perfect meal. I was able to step outside while I waited for my food to check out the vineyard. Unfortunately, with the set up in the outdoor dining area, you cannot get to the vineyard itself. We had a very disappointing experience at Jamesport. We came on a Saturday afternoon after pumpkin picking. We wanted some wine and a mushroom pizza. We were starving. The hostess told us she will be right back to seat us but then had us wait almost 10 min to even talk to us. Not sure if she knew what she was doing? Our first waiter came over and gave us the menus and said he will be right back. He never came back! We had to grab the frazzled hostess to get us another server. The second server was very friendly and gave us some good ideas on the wines we wanted to try for the flight. However, when she brought out the first glass it had streaks and soap residue on the glass. It was very visible. We asked for another glass and her response was to reassure us that the glass is clean and that's just the way the washing machine dries the glasses. It was more than just streaks you get from air drying - there was definitely something in the glass. She brought us a new set of glasses fairly quickly (we watched her Polish the glasses) and the wines were very good. I enjoyed the Albariño and the Cab Franc and the Merlot. We opted not to order the pizza since we were told it was a 40 min wait! Waaay too long! We walked around the vineyards - it is a beautiful space inside and out. There are lovely outdoor seats. We walked along the vines. It's a beautiful and nicely designed space. But the service was bad, definitely needs to be worked on especially considering the prices they charge. read more

We had a very enjoyable lunch with a tasty Jamesport Cabernet Franc this afternoon. Jamesport has spacious outdoor seating overlooking their gardens and vineyard and also has indoor seating. . While there, you must try their perfectly cooked brick oven pizzas, with a crispy crust cooked to perfection. So good we ordered a second, we enjoyed first the Margarita Pizza, and then the Ange. There is also a nice selection of starters, we enjoyed the Hummus with vegetables. And how could I forget the wines! The Cabernet Franc was a great choice, very smooth on the palate, we took home a bottle, and also a bottle of their Syrah, the description was just too tasty not to try. There was plenty of parking here as well. Luckily, we were able to get a table for 6 outside, without a reservation. You should make a reservation in advance though, but since we came really early in the day, there were some extra tables. Once seated, we started out ordering a bottle of riesling. This was very good. Then, we ordered a bottle of merlot. I enjoyed this one much more, as merlot is one of my favorite wine drinks to have. We then ordered their Buddy Boy Pizza and this was excellent. I enjoy a good brick over pizza and this one definitely hit the spot..
