I went here on a Sunday evening with a group. We were seated right away basically because there were only 2 tables of people. The young lady at the door greeted us. Our waiter came over quickly to take our drinks orders. He was very nice. We had no appetizers. We all ordered a bunch of different food. All of it was ok. Nothing to rave about. Just regular diner food. When we went to check out it took a while for someone to check us out because there were 3 employees on their phones or watching tv. This place is huge. I fear that this place won't be here long. A diner should be packed on a Sunday night. read more

Seriously a 2.5 rating overall for this spot? No way. Our last stop trying to kill a little time before going to the airport. I got the French dip sandwich with regular fries. My son got the B52 burger with sweet potato fries. My sandwich was so damn good and the fries were very good. Crunchy, spiced well,and soft inside. The dip for my sandwich was nice and salty providing a great compliment to the sandwich. My son asked for rare on his burger. They could only do medium rare. He said it was just a bit above but delicious. The ambience was classic old school diner. Really cool comfortable interior. Service was spot on. Really don't understand the low rates. I have been to the Clubhouse diner a few times. The food is delicious and they have a pretty good salad bar. We had Justin as a waiter and he took good care of us. Making sure everything was good and our drinks were full. The price was reasonable for what you got. There is a lot of room to sit and even a separate room if you have a large party. read more

Under new ownership since my last visit, they have removed all pork products from the menu. So breakfast without pork is difficult for me. I tried the eggs Benedict. The fake Canadian bacon tasted like a burnt hamburger. The hollandaise was "off" and some of the potatoes were uncooked. Tasted bad and I had a very unpleasant day as a result. Our server, J, was great. We'll be back when the next new owner tries to rescue this place. read more

The food isn't stellar, but it's solid. The portions are huge. I ordered the Chicken Marsala early bird special, which offers a smaller portion than the standard dinner portion. The portion was still huge, and I ended up taking half of it home for lunch the next day. The salad bar isn't massive, but the selection is decent and fresh, and I actually went up twice to fill my small salad plate. The decor is a bit dated--the space actually looks like an old school diner with booths, bar stools, a dessert case, table games, and a darker color palette. The service is quick, and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant is located right off Street Road in Bensalem and is easy to access. While we definitely pull down the average age of the clientele (I.e., most of the clientele are older), we'll be back. This is our second visit, and it offers a good, quick bite to eat. read more

Stopped here when I was passing through the area. The parking lot was full and hard to get a spot. The outside of the restaurant looked dull and dingy. I was expecting to see the restaurant packed with so many cars in the lot. There were a good number of patrons but not packed at all. My first impression of the restaurant was that they tried to modernize it. The second impression was it was dirty. The bathrooms were filthy. The floors were dirty. The booths were dirty. They had a huge area that was set up for a salad bar. If you've read my other reviews you know how I feel about salad bars. Due to covid these salad bars are just NOT sanitary and need to be eliminated. Our server was efficient but not friendly. We ordered an egg white omelette with Lox and onions. And two eggs over easy with home fries and toast. The portions were a bit small. The home fries were really hash browns. There was plenty of Lox but I was left still hungry. The prices were decent. Much cheaper than many diners I've been too. This place needs a really, really good cleaning. Then maybe, I'd consider it again. read more

I couldn't be more disappointed in what once was a bustling diner in Bensalem. On a slow weekday morning we were looking for somewhere different and opted to check out the Club House. A landmark on Street Roast the Club House has fed thousands for decades. An empty restaurant with only a handful of patrons we were led to the dining room just by the kitchen door. As were the only other two couples eating that morning. Our waitress was slow and curt. Poor attitude and definitely not wanting to be there. We ordered simple breakfast eggs and meat. The bacon was odd and the scrapple even worse. When our waitress finally decided to return to check on us we asked if the scrapple was made in house only to be told that they only serve TURKEY scrapple and the bacon is BEEF bacon. Neither of which is noted on the menu. Had we known this we would have opted for different meals. When we told her we were disappointed she shrugged it off and told us "well you already ate it so I can't take it off". We weren't looking for it to be taken off we were expressing how it should be noted on the menu or at least the wait staff should inform people before assuming they wanted alternative meats. Needless to say we won't be revisiting the Club House although they do have decent dinner specials and a very fresh salad bar in the afternoons and evenings. With so much competition we will be eating elsewhere. read more

I've been going to this diner for many years. The staff are very friendly. Our waitress was excellent. My ravioli was pretty good, but not great. My son's chicken parm was a generous portion. We always get the salad bar, but it's hit or miss. This time was a miss. They were missing the marinated chick peas, and there were too many flies around the salad bar. I'm not sure why there is no Russian or Thousand Island dressing, but it's time that they added it to the salad bar. Always a solid choice on Street Road. Was remarkably quiet during our visit but the service was great and the food was very good. Very large portions. I had French onion soup and it was very good. Server Justin with the black beard did an excellent job and was attentive but not intrusive. Plus he was very friendly. Haven't been there in years. Was driving on by and figured, what the heck, let's do breakfast. Lot's of cars parked out front but only about 8 people eating. Guess they ask the staff to park out front to make it look jumping busy. Menu was for a dinner very expensive. Ordered a bowl of grits with raisins and brown sugar. They actually charged me $1 for the raisins and 50cents for the sugar. That was a first. Also ordered a side of Bacon. The absolute worst bacon ever! Spit it out. Turns out it was beef bacon as they don't serve pork. Ordered two danish and they don't do danish. Just cake. Will we return? Not a shot. read more

We made the mistake of looking at Google reviews before coming here, which obviously someone is getting paid to leave good ratings on Google to give the illusion that the food is good. The bathrooms were filthy and had no toilet paper. There are still pay phones on the wall, one of which is busted. The food was mediocre at best. The dessert case only looked enticing. I had gotten a piece Of cake and a cupcake, both of which were stale. The portion sizes of our meals were huge, but quality was lacking. I think they put two pounds of chicken on my fiancés salad. Pretty much a standard Pennsylvania roadside diner down on Street Road, Bensalem. It is well maintained, has friendly professional staff, large menu and reasonable prices. I stopped in for breakfast recently, and sat on a stool at the traditional counter. Coffee was immediately available from the Bunn-O-Matic, and my request for milk over creamer was met with a small glass of moo juice. The daily special omelette was described well, and server and I agreed quietly that ham, bacon and sausage was just too much meat for three eggs to handle. Opted instead for short stack french toast and java only. Lately, it seems I am not as hungry in the morning, which helps explain the increased bagginess of my pants. The thick white load was good with adequate saturation of the egg/vanilla/sugar mix into the heart of both slices. The soft butter and Smuckers table syrup finished off the plate. It was all grilled well, but providing a pour of pure Grade B maple would have been so much more satisfying. I would pay a buck or two extra for that sweet smokiness soaked into my bread. The cuppa joe was decent and refilled frequently. I departed $10 the poorer, including gratuity. Not bad for this part of Street Road, right down the street from Parx Casino. read more

Came here with a friend for a breakfast date about a year ago. It was my first time here and I am glad we decided on this restaurant. We ended up getting the breakfast specials. I had the 2 eggs, home fires, toast and a meat with a hot tea and he had and omelette meal with sausage. The service was pretty good although they were busy for the morning rush and appeared to be short staffed. Our waitress made sure we had everything we needed and was very friendly. As far as the food rating, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the home fries were crispy and the way i usually like them. I ended up getting a ham slice and it was really tasty. I haven't been back here since I had this breakfast date, but I would eventually come back here because it was really good. read more

Ah the memories! I used to live in Philadelphia years ago and had many dates here. I Just love diners and had to return to one of my favorites for breakfast. My order consisted of eggs, scrapple, corned beef hash, potatoes, toast and coffee! Yes it was enough for 2 and I brought home leftovers. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and everyone can find something on the menu. The desserts looked wonderful and of course if I still lived here I would be a frequent customer. TLDR: Food was terrible (i.e. food poisoning), service was worse. I REALLY have to start listening to that little voice when it tells me to just leave a place!
