The people that work there are super friendly and always say hello to you when you walk in. They also have the fitlinxx system in place so that you can track your workouts and keep an online diary of your progress. The locker rooms are also super clean and have digital locks so you don't have to bring your own locks. I guess where this place lacks the 5, 4 , or even 3 star rating some times is in the price for what you get. The equipment is fairly outdated for spending $70/month to be a member there. I have also noticed that things take forever to get repaired if they breakdown. I believe they just changed over management which means that everything could be better now, but this was a huge issue when I was there. I also had issues with getting new machines and free weight exercises added to my fitlinxx profile. I asked a few different times, and they trainers that they have to assist you were unable to add new exercises in. It wasn't a huge deal, but was something that was annoying when you expect this great system to have exercises for all the equipment that they provide. Overall as I stated in the beginning. I went to this gym for over a year and really enjoyed it. If the gym was $20-$50/month it would be a 5 star joint in my book. For the price however...join New York Sports Club in Westwood. Twice as nice, and has alot more modern equipment.

A fair amount of time there are no trainers on the floor, and the front desk actually let me go for 2-weeks before I NOTICED that I had to renew my annual membership. God only knows how much longer I could have gone without paying. They have no electronic workout tracking systems. The antiquated system they had is no barely functional because the company that runs and maintains it went out of business last January. I suspect they are getting ready to shut the place down. But if they aren't they really need to put some money into it and upgrade it to the 21st century. The new managers there are really running the place poorly.

I actually don't think I've ever taken a class with Mandy, but have heard fantastic things about her from almost everyone who comes. My friend has quoted Mandy's sage advice: "You don't mess with the gods or your knees." I would consider myself an advanced beginner and used to challenge myself to the level II/III class on Tuesday evenings. My work and their class schedule have since changed, but I'll still try to drop in whenever our schedules align. Most recently, I've been hitting up the community yoga classes on Fridays at 7:30. They are taught by teachers in training, and there is almost always a great vibe in the studio. As fellow Yelpers have mentioned, parking in both the adjoining lot and the municipal lot across the street can get a bit tricky. Either come early or plan to park on a side street. Either way, this place is completely worth it.

The main issue is the deterioration of benefits without any change in the premium price point. Ever since Equinox decided to leave the partnership with Kiehl's and focus its expansion on the California network, the benefits of the gym have not improved; in fact, they've noticeably deteriorated. While the facility is still attractive, the value proposition has plummeted. I finally made the switch and decided to seek better value elsewhere. The high price no longer justifies the reduced perks and benefits offered at this location.

Jackie's Cardio Sculpt is literally the BEST exercise class I've ever taken. Nina is so sweet in remembering everyone's names and is always finding new ways to challenge us in 1.5s. Courtney's Suspend classes are awesome. And Allie's Center and Balance are perfect for a gentle restore mid-week. I've found the classes to be the right mix of pushing you to give your all, but flexible to match your specific ability. There are always options given to make a particular move easier/more challenging and this is truly a no judgement zone. People of all shapes, sizes, ages, and genders are welcomed with open arms. I was extremely intimidated the first time I came, but that quickly went away when Sophia assured me I would love it (she was right!). If you're on the fence, give it a try.
