I began my Pilates journey this year with high hopes, but that excitement completely vanished within three months. I am officially canceling my membership and will not be returning. While the workouts are great, the rigid, member-unfriendly policies make it impossible to stay. I am giving this location two stars because of their lack of empathy and predatory "waitlist" and "use-it-or-lose-it" system. The notification system is designed to fail the consumer. I was notified via email at 7:38 PM the night before a class that I had been moved off a waitlist. Because of their 12-hour cancellation policy, I had less than 20 minutes to decide if I could attend before being financially locked in. To make matters worse, the studio closed at 5:00 PM, meaning there was no staff available to help or clarify. As a mother, finding childcare with 20 minutes' notice is impossible. When I spoke with Melissa the next day, it was clear that following the "policy" mattered more than hearing the customer. I lost my class credit despite the impossible notification window. Furthermore, the studio holds members to strict standards while they change instructors at the last minute; I booked with Maura, but Ruben taught the class without prior notice. Advocacy for Change! Change is needed here. This business operates as a "money grab" rather than a fitness community. I even lost four class credits because of a car accident that left me unable to drive for a month, a situation entirely out of my control. It is wrong to hold paying members to the same rigid waitlist terms as a one-time visitor. Members commit to this business monthly and deserve a policy that reflects that loyalty, such as a longer notification window or a one-time "life happens" credit. To potential members: Be aware that you are solely responsible for managing your credits in an unforgiving app. If you have a life emergency or can't find a sitter within a 20-minute window, this company will keep your money without a second thought. I choose to support businesses that treat their members like people, not just line items. For that reason, I have moved on from Club Pilates. If you need to freeze your membership for any reason, you'll be charged $35 every single month the membership is frozen--not a one-time fee. And when you decide to cancel, you'll still be charged for another full month. What is most frustrating is how concerns are handled. Whenever I questioned these fees, the response was always the same: "It's our policy" and "It's industry practice." If you read through other customer reviews, you'll notice a pattern. Many members raise similar concerns, and the owner's responses almost always fall back on the same explanation--policy and industry practices--rather than addressing the actual customer experience. A business can have policies, but hiding behind them every time a customer raises a legitimate concern shows where the priorities are. In my experience, collecting fees seemed more important than listening to members and building goodwill. Make sure you fully understand all fees and cancellation terms before signing up. read more

Love the instructors, the classes and the schedules. They offer several course and the times are suited to your availability. Not once have I had a problem fitting a class into my daily schedule. I really hate to write this, but my experience at this location left me feeling unseen and held to a different standard as a Black woman. I was incredibly consistent, taking level 1.5 classes four times a week for a full year (over 150 classes!) and was never acknowledged for the 100-class milestone that's regularly celebrated for others. I often received positive feedback from instructors and classmates about my practice. As a former elite athlete and Pilates instructor in training, I even advocated for adding level 2 classes to this location because I felt ready for a greater challenge. But when I finally tested up, I was failed for very small, fixable things, while others who visibly struggled with core movements were passed. It felt extremely discouraging and inconsistent with feedback from my previous 100+ classes taken there. The evaluating instructors (Ismael and Antonella) they seemed to favor a particular aesthetic rather than ability, which was disappointing and honestly outrageous. Still, I want to recognize a few amazing teachers Janelle, Maura, and Mariana, who consistently created supportive, inclusive spaces for me. Unfortunately, I decided to cancel my membership because I can't continue supporting a studio that doesn't seem to value fairness or growth equally among its members. read more

I've been a member at Club Pilates since October of last year. I originally signed up because they offered a 6 AM class, which works well with my schedule. For the most part, the classes are enjoyable and the instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. I do appreciate the workouts and the overall atmosphere of the studio. However, one issue that has happened repeatedly is that instructors often arrive late to class, and there have even been occasions when the class was canceled 30 minutes after the scheduled start time. That can be very frustrating, especially for members who wake up early and plan their day around these classes. What makes this more frustrating is that when members cancel late, we are charged a fee, but when classes are delayed or canceled on the studio's side, there is no apology or acknowledgment. Additionally, freezing a membership costs $35, which makes it feel like there are many ways to charge members but not the same level of accountability when the studio causes inconvenience. I truly enjoy Pilates and want this studio to succeed, but I hope the management works on being more punctual and respectful of members' time moving forward. read more

She knew which muscles each exercise was supposed to target and walked around to help everyone make adjustments to make sure we were doing them correctly. The plaza this location is in has lots of great food options to stop by after the class ends! Have been wanting to try this place for so long via Class Pass but could never find an open class. I finally booked something and went in. The location recently moved over to another part of the shopping center, and I think it's bigger than the last one. Instructor was a great, facility was clean. Room was darkly lit, reminded me of Soul Cycle vibes. Not sure why the classes are always so booked up. When I went, there were 12 reformers and only 6 students. Class itself was good, worked out parts of my body that I normally don't focus on. There's a water machine in there that must offer some kind of special water, as I saw everyone who comes in fill in their empty bottles at the machine as soon as they walk in. I wouldn't mind coming back if I can ever book a class here again! read more

I've been going to Club Pilates for a little over a year now, and I gotta say with the new expansion this studio is really as good as it gets! They have new equipment in Studio A and a more intimate feel in Studio B. Having 2 studios means more classes, but of course the peak times (weekends and after work) may still require you to get on the waitlist on their app. Reformer pilates is an inclusive workout, and your instructor even does adjustments if you have any injuries or need accommodations. Pilates was my first workout postpartum, and my core and posture have definitely improved. Reformer 1 is doable for everyone, but if you want something more challenging 1.5 classes (weights are added in) are the way to go! I really enjoy Maura, Janelle, Iris and Mariana's classes, but also their classes just fit with my schedule. Front staff is always super sweet, and super responsive via text as well. They have a 4x/month, 8×/month and unlimited membership. With an unlimited membership you can also attend classes at their sister studios: Diamond Bar, La Habra and Fullerton. Club Pilates in West Covina is an amazing place with the absolute best instructors like Maura and Mariana just to name a few! They bring you their contagious energy and motivation to keep your body moving and stretching w/ each 50 minute work out. . I love the small & intimate settings w/ each class- so it feels like you're getting a 1:1 private session vs the over crowded mass of ppl a gym may have. Definitely less distractions and more focused energy for sure! I joined this club pilates because I wanted to get moving more and the gym is too boring. I really like that they offer you a free class before you sign up so you can get an idea of how it goes. I've taken classes with 5 different instructors but I have to say Mariana has been the best one yet! Her moves really make my muscles work and burn and she is super sweet and very patient. My biggest issue that I've had with this place is that it's not always easy to get the class you want. You need to get on the waiting list in advance and you don't always get a spot. I'm hoping with their new expansion this won't be a problem. Another issue is the app, it's glitchy and doesnt always work. There were a total of 6 of us and Janelle was very patient. I enjoyed the class and definitely felt the burn. I've been wanting to join Club Pilates since they opened years ago and finally did. I loved that it was close to my house and had lots of class option times. Unfortunately it's been my biggest regret and now they have me locked in for 3 months. If you have a busy schedule- this isn't the place for you. The evening and Sat classes are always waitlisted and you won't get notice until up to 2 hours prior. I learned the hard way- I looked at my emails after work and found out they added me to a class that just started. The app is supposed to notify you but didn't. This business strategy is driven by profits and not customer convenience. You have to cancel 12 hrs prior, yet you only get added hours before the class. If you have kids and a job- and need to plan ahead- this isn't the place. So much fine print and rules. Darn chain businesses! If you do decide to try the intro class, buy $2 grip socks ahead of time because they charge $15-20 a pair (and it's mandatory!) read more
