Here's my honest review after attending for one year. I 100% recommend this hot yoga studio. I started yoga for medical reasons. Enclosed is the schedule and price sheet. I tried the two classes for $30 to check it out and it was intense! Some places call this type of class Bikram or 26x2. After those initial classes I made the commitment to attend at least twice a week but the goal was 3 times a week. I found a pattern in the schedule that worked for me and signed up for a monthly plan. A financial commitment will likely hold you accountable to keep coming. In six months, I lost 11 pounds (workout trying) AND avoided cholesterol pills. I have a bad knee and my spine curves the wrong way. A lot of pain has subsided since I became a yogi. Drink two liters of water the day BEFORE your class. It'll help you not feel dizzy with exercising in the heat. Dress in dry wicking clothes that stick to your body. You'll be bending over, balancing, laying down, and more. Take to class: 1. Yoga mat 2. Towel, size of yoga mat (I prefer 88% polyester and 12% nylon so I don't slip) 3. Mini towel, wash cloth size (I prefer 80% polyester and 20% polyamide to wipe my face during class and dry sweat after class) 4. Socks (wear after class...it's gross to step into someone's sweat) 5. Water bottle, no ice (ice makes noise which is disruptive) 6. Hair necessities (I tuck all my hair into a gator) 7. Dry clothes (unless you want to drive home a hot mess) Expect to feel exhausted after your first few classes. I promise it'll get easier. Drink Emergen-C with immune support and/or Gatorade after classes. Track your progress on a calendar or journal. It feels great to see improvements. With camel pose, I would reach back and was no where close to touching my feet, let alone grabbing them. Every class I would keep reaching until one day my fingertips touched, then grabbed, and now I do it the pose with ease. It took six months of practice but I got it when I heard 8" between your knees and 6" between your feet. That day, I heard it differently. Some poses will be easy and some after a year are still in progress like the leg lift. I'm still working on the first part of the picture. It took four months of arching my back, leaning forward, and doing 10% of the posture before I could grab my foot. Eventually I was able to lift my leg (slightly). A year later I'm still trying to keep my balance and kick my leg (longer than a few seconds). Don't let physical ailments detour you from trying. Yoga might be your turning point too! All the teachers have been female (Laura, Linda, Elena, Alex and Monica). Each one is amazing and you should try them all out because you might hear the instructions a tiny bit different and that might be what it takes for you to finally nail the pose. Please say hello if you ever see my name signed in.

Plus, you can go Filipino grocery shopping or food hopping at the plaza across the street after class! She's super nice and very clear in communicating the poses so it's easy to follow along. The studio space is on the smaller side so classes are more intimate, which is nice. It's located in the center of a shopping center, with the door facing off to the side, so it's a bit tricky to find. It took me a while to locate it the first time I went. There's plenty of parking available, and Tierra Mia is at the end of the shopping center, so you can get yourself a treat after class like I did!

While the workouts are great, the rigid, member-unfriendly policies make it impossible to stay. I am giving this location two stars because of their lack of empathy and predatory "waitlist" and "use-it-or-lose-it" system. The notification system is designed to fail the consumer. I was notified via email at 7:38 PM the night before a class that I had been moved off a waitlist. Because of their 12-hour cancellation policy, I had less than 20 minutes to decide if I could attend before being financially locked in. To make matters worse, the studio closed at 5:00 PM, meaning there was no staff available to help or clarify. As a mother, finding childcare with 20 minutes' notice is impossible. When I spoke with Melissa the next day, it was clear that following the "policy" mattered more than hearing the customer. I lost my class credit despite the impossible notification window. Furthermore, the studio holds members to strict standards while they change instructors at the last minute; I booked with Maura, but Ruben taught the class without prior notice. Advocacy for Change! Change is needed here. This business operates as a "money grab" rather than a fitness community. I even lost four class credits because of a car accident that left me unable to drive for a month, a situation entirely out of my control. It is wrong to hold paying members to the same rigid waitlist terms as a one-time visitor. Members commit to this business monthly and deserve a policy that reflects that loyalty, such as a longer notification window or a one-time "life happens" credit. To potential members: Be aware that you are solely responsible for managing your credits in an unforgiving app. If you have a life emergency or can't find a sitter within a 20-minute window, this company will keep your money without a second thought. I choose to support businesses that treat their members like people, not just line items. For that reason, I have moved on from Club Pilates. I am now at LA Fitness because they offer Pilates classes and have a kids club. -Alane Martin
