Mezcal Cocktail Drink (Can't remember the name)
    Dwayne R.

Dear Club Prive Let's start off with the obvious. "The name has to change." I have lived in the area for 5 years and finally once we saw cars outside my wife and I thought it was a "Private Club" and many can take that differently as that is the exact translation of the business. The sign in the front does not allow anyone to see it is a Restaurant. The outside of the building looks exactly like the other restaurants so most think that it's the same business. Here's the difference: When you enter the building you will be amazed with a jaw-dropping restaurant aesthetic that you never knew was in Canton. It is beautiful. The hostess warmly greeted us and took us to our booth. It was a Friday night and from a business perspective very slow. Everyone at the table and at the bar were very well dressed. To me - This is a suit jacket restaurant and it worked out well since I was coming directly from work with my wife. Our waitress (Missy) was AMAZING and was so sweet. We were highly impressed with the menu as it was electronically back-lit. The cocktail menu ranged from $14 to $19 and topped out with the bourbon/whiskey craft cocktails. The wine list was interesting as there were around 6 or so options for a glass of wine and one or 2 more for bubbly options. Here's the kicker; if you are a wine drinker- you had added value by buying an entire bottle as the prices were good even if you were NOT a club member. The cost to join the club at the time of this review was $700 annually. I cocktails came quickly and were delicious. We ordered the Lobster Roll as an appetizer and it was spectacular. They were tiny but mighty. Now cane our soups: French Onion for my wife and Lobster Bisque for me. I did request bread as I saw it on other tables. My wife's soup was good. Let's talk about my LOBSTER Bisque. This was the very BEST bisque that I have EVER had in my life. I could have a consumed gallon of that Lobster Bisque. It was served in a metallic odd shaped bowl that was kind of shallow and really didn't give me the chance to enjoy more of that goodness. I would have purchased $100 worth of that soup to go if they would have let me. (This soup was the highlight) Don't get me wrong as everything else was delectable. I couldn't stop ranting about that soup. The chef (Greg)came out to see me and is the kind of Chef that you would want to hire for a private party at your home. My wife's side Caesar Salad came out with a full anchovy on the top. I opted for a glass of Blended Red Wine and it was a nice pour. Now for our main dishes. Home Run (Greg),my wife enjoyed her Short Rib better than any other high end restaurant in the area. My Pork Chop was so thick , that I didn't think they could cook it to my desired temperature which they did. Missy sold me on the Dessert, so I went with it and she wasn't wrong. Another home run. My wife and I will be back as the food is AMAZING. I am concerned as the restaurant business is challenging right now in the world we live and many are struggling. I would love to see this location to become successful and super busy. This place should be packed every day. My advice. Consider a name and signage change and offer a tired wine club program. Consider a high- end Beer Club also to pull in your 35 to 56 crowd.

Very elegant ambiance and wonderful appetizers and cocktails. Service was perfect! We tried a couple of appetizers-one with lobster top and another Empanada. I will be bringing my husband back for dinner soon!

Lobster Ravioli was topped with luscious portions of lobster in a buttery cream sauce; Tender Rounds of Calamari with a light crispy breading; Moist tender crispy grilled Sea Bass with mild creamy Cajun sauce; Succulent flavorful whipped potatoes; Tender tasty plentiful serving of short ribs -- all with a sultry saxaphone lulling you into a state of bliss.

The farm-to-fork approach truly shines in every dish. The king salmon and summer Marea were, without question, the best my husband and I have ever had. Each bite delivered a perfect harmony of flavors that felt both vibrant and refreshing. The bread service, especially the focaccia, was outstanding, and the crispy cauliflower was another standout. Every dish felt creative, fresh, and beautifully executed. Pat, our amazing server, made every part of dinner a pleasure. From the hostess to Chef Nathan and the dessert team, every interaction added to the experience. For a little while, we were able to forget the chaos of the outside world and just exist in a small bubble of incredible food, wonderful people, and a genuinely memorable

We had a lovely time though we weren't thrilled about sitting in the tiny side room at the tiny 4-person bar with our backs to the room...it felt cramped. Our server helped us choose the perfect bottle of wine from an extensive collection. The apples and rice appetizer was excellent..like arancini balls. My husband had the duck and liked it. I had the lumache which was just ok. The pasta was a little too al dente and the large clumsy shells didn't seem like the right shape for the delicate dish. It was supposed to come with shrimp, but surprise...nope! It came with lobster. I find lobster a bit sweet and thought shrimp would have worked better. This girl is usually in the clean plate club when it comes to pasta and seafood dishes but not tonight. I will say that the dessert alone was worth the one hour drive.. the smoked smores arrived with a bell jar of smoke which the server whisked off to reveal a delectable gooey to-die-for cake smothered in caramel and marshmallow. Did I mention it came with two cups of hot white chocolate to pour over the whole thing? Omg..drool-worthy.

While we have gotten together periodically over the years, this was our first get-together since COVID. So, we had a lot of catching up to do. All of this to say that the staff at Astoria Grill was superb. Reservation was for 6:30, but the other couple was running 30 minutes late. No problem - my wife and I were seated...none of that "you must have your entire party to be seated" nonsense. No rushing or pressuring us to order so they could turn-over the table. Our waitress, Morgan, was THE BEST! She read our table, understood the vibe, and knew how to pace our evening. Attentive without being overbearing, fun and conversational without being insincere, and knowledgeable and helpful without being over bearing. We will be asking for one of her tables during our next visit. We lost track of time and stayed past the 10 pm closing, but were never once told we needed to depart. It was as close to eating at your own supper table at home as you could get. I haven't ever experienced more gracious hospitality at a restaurant. Food and Drinks: A+ on all fronts. Cocktails, bourbons, wine, and waters were all dispatched timely and accurately, as we asked for a couple of minor adjustments to the cocktails. The food was sublime and portions were generous. Take home boxes were the norm for our group. Filet, Delmonico, pizza, and vegetable pasta dishes were all wonderfully prepared, served hot, and came with well-proportioned side dishes. My Parmesan Risotto was done to "Gordon Ramsey" perfection (we all know how he is a stickler for risotto). The steaks were expertly seasoned and cooked, perfect charring. The desserts and post dinner drinks capped off our ideal evening. My chocolate cake was dense without being cloying, with a creamy consistency topped with just the right amount of raspberry piping. Thanks Astoria staff for the terrific evening!
