Dubbed the "Cheers of Atwater Village," Club Tee-Gee has been a staple in the community since 1946. The new owners remodeled it in 2017 and it's quite nice - retro décor, plush leather booths, & open-air windows. The vibe is chill & relaxed and there's a suitable selection of tunes on the jukebox. The adjacent Peacock lounge is equally charming and hosts stand-up comedy shows on Thursday nights and DJs on the weekends. (Conan O'Brien did a surprise gig here a few weeks ago.) The back patio is spacious with an outside bar & picnic style seating. I haven't been here in years. In fact, it was before the remodel. A recent trip to the Atwater Farmer's Market inspired me to come back. It was a Thursday evening and JJ was behind the bar. She was absolutely delightful! We had a great conversation while I sipped on the Happy Hour Spicy Margarita. During my visit, several locals stopped in for a drink and to say "Hi" to JJ. Worst bar around... Un attentive Bartenders, picky and choosey Still will not give you service. The men and woman bartenders pick who they want to give service to or not... Bathroom was disgusting broken and dirty. Not even any water in the water dispenser but then again why would any of the bartenders care about their job.. Im a small business owner. Do better. I stopped in for a cocktail after a long day at work and had a very uncomfortable experience with a bartender named JJ (short brunette). I was immediately scolded for bringing in an energy drink, something I have done before with other staff without any issue and would have been happy to throw away. When I asked to order an espresso martini, she refused and asked how I planned to pay, in a way that implied I couldn't afford to be there. I told her I could pay with Apple Pay, but she still refused to serve me and pointed to the door, telling me to leave. I had just finished a 7-hour shift and was in athletic wear without my usual makeup or hair done, and it honestly felt like I was being judged based on my appearance. I even asked if I had offended her in some way, and she simply told me to leave. I've visited this place many times before and have always had pleasant experiences, especially when the male server is working. Because of that, this interaction was surprising and disappointing. This is a dope spot if you like that dive-bar vibe.. dark, relaxed, but not too run down. They've got great booths and plenty of bar stools, plus an outdoor area and a little space in the back, which is pretty neat. Now, I love SpongeBob just as much as the next person, however... they randomly threw it on the giant TV and it lit up the whole room. It totally changed the vibe and made everything weirdly bright for no reason. But besides that, I really liked how dark and chill the place was. I used to live near Club Tee Gee when I was in my 20s, and am kind of surprised I never went. It's possible, I guess, that I've aged into the place, which feels like a bar for geriatric millennials. That said, I feel like every bar these days is for geriatric millennials. All the kids seem to stay at home with their TikToks, leaving the drinking to us moms and dads, whenever we line up babysitting. We went for a friend's birthday earlier this month, a casual Saturday night drop-in situation. The patio was well suited for this, an ample space with plentiful seating. We claimed one of the large picnic table set-ups, with enough room on the benches for about a dozen people. We were one of the only parties on the patio, and it was pleasant and relaxing, with lots of greenery and string lights. We ordered drinks at the bar, and the interior was cool, dark and a little divey in a 2000s hipster kind of way. Service was fast and friendly, and drinks were pretty good. I really enjoyed both the Thirst Trap and the Tee Gee Spicy Margarita. The Thirst Trap was a nice, slightly bitter cocktail with Espolon tequila, Campari, absinthe, lime, and orgeat. The margarita was great, with Tee Gee's jalapeño-infused tequila, orange liqueur, lime, agave, and a salt and Tajin rim. We had a couple of the beers on tap too, the Pizza Port Cruisin' pale ale and the Paperback Bunny With a Chainsaw hazy IPA. Solid drinking across the board. I live farther away from Club Tee Gee now, but would be happy to go back for another gathering. It's an easy spot for a group hang, especially useful for middle-aged folks who like to drink, but not in loud, crowded environments. read more

We have been here many times but sadly after last nights visit it might be a long time before we return. We stopped by last night before 1 and sat at the bar, we saw the bartender was with customers so we waited. She then kept looking in our direction but never came over, I went the restroom while I told my wife to order IF she ever came over. The restroom was disgusting toilet paper roll broken pee all over the floor and this was the woman's restroom. I washed my hands and left, went back to the bar only to still find out the bartender still hadn't come over and was still chatting up her "regulars" as a fellow bartender read the room. Was here as a starting point for my husband's birthday celebration. Loved this place as soon as I walked it. Amazing ambience with the lights dimmed low. For a Thursday night the place was busy. They host a free comedy show don't know exactly which days but on Thursdays for sure. My plan was to have a few drinks, have dinner in the area and go home. However, we loved this place so much that we returned after dinner. The comedy room was turned into a dance floor and we danced the night away. The highlight of this place was their service. We had too much fun that we forgot my husband's jacket at this place. I was not able to retrieve it right away and almost a week went by when I had the opportunity to stop by and ask if the jacket. I honestly, didn't think we would see the jacket again. BUT!! They had the jacket!!!!. I truly appreciate them safekeeping it for that long. Highly recommend this place. My new go to spot. read more

Decent little dive bar that could definitely benefit from some clean up and renovation. I first came here decades ago and it was much more vintage and styled. Now it's just a drive bar. Not nearly as much personality. Service was decent enough. They have a patio which is always nice, and food during certain hours. My real gripe is that they have happy hour until 7pm each night (including Saturdays), but the happy hour margarita is $14? Makes me wonder how much it is when it's not happy hour! The draft beer is only $6 during HH, which is good enough. Well drinks $9, which is nothing special. Overall, there's a lot of potential with this space. Someone just needs to help revive it. A step back in time, this mid-century modern bar feels so slick yet relaxed. We sat at a small booth with amazing lighting and just figured out all the problems with the world. I cdd as my speak to the drink situation (ginger ale here) but the atmosphere was a perfect blend of inclusion and trendy. Great place to go to eith you are a patron.Bad if you live next to it. Owner is using the covid outdoor exception waiver to run the club outside which the nearby residents didn't sign up for. Patrons forget this is a family oriented neighborhood so hearing the music passed what's considered reasonable on the weekend(thursday-Sunday) is taxing. The owner and its staff doing give a flying how this has effected us and Patrons are clueless to what they are doing, nor they care. they don't live in this area, none of them do, so if we were going to go to their homes and talk outside their home window at 12 midnight, that wouldn't be nice. its a shame since ownership could have had an amicable relationship with the neighbors if they would own up to the noise nuisance and tried to find middle ground. instead its about making money and bringing in every hipster that's clueless to what's happening in our neighborhood because its not their neighborhood. Nor do they care. This is a long rant but a major critique on how society has gone down hill with actions by the ownership and Patrons of the establishment as well as other businesses. Nicest "dive" bar I've been to. Love the decor and classic bar feel, with touches of retro gold and peacock decor throughout. This is a bar I would gladly frequent if I lived in the area. Main bar was filled with people on a Thursday night, free comedy show with Reggie Watts and Jackie Kashian was going on in the Peacock Lounge side bar, DJs were spinning great vibes in the back patio area, and the hamburger food truck was delectable! Enjoying my first bar outing since covid days on St. Patty's Day maybe was not the smartest venture out but definitely fun. We made sure to arrive early to guarantee seating my 40's something booty. We were greeted by security and immediately found one seat, later a gentleman was kind of enough to offer my husband his seat. It didn't' take long before the bar was crowded with not so much a diverse crowd truthfully then again, I use to come here when it was a dive bar before new owners. The bartender did a superb job of making sure I had a drink regardless of how crowded. I didn't intend to stay till the dance club portion opened up, but we did, and it was okay, it was fun for being out. My one and only suggestion would be don't park right in front because as we exited people where all leaning against my car. I let them know exactly how much I didn't appreciate that. read more

You shouldn't want to go to a dive bar. They're dark and dingy and unwelcoming. Get your beer, shut up, and sit down. These are all mostly true of Club Tee Gee and yet, I still find myself coming back. When you walk in, yeah, it's dark and dingy, but that's kind of the charm of this place. While everything in LA is modern and trendy, this feels like a bygone era. There's leather booths, a juke box in the back, a long bar, and during the day, the curtains are drawn. You walk up to the bar and the process is pretty simple...get something on tap, canned, or get a cocktail of your choice. The options are plentiful and while I haven't had to try, it seems the bartenders know what they're doing and can probably make anything you want. Price wise, everything is pretty reasonable. If dark and dingy isn't your thing, step out onto their back patio and enjoy the picnic tables, string lights, and when chilly enough, heaters. Come with your dog and enjoy a variety of different events ranging from performances, DJs, and the occasional pinewood derby race. They don't serve food here, but there's usually a food truck or pop up. The main reason for coming here is the almost weekly visit by Yellow Paper Burger. On a Sunday night, there's nothing better than sitting on the patio with a beer and some friends while the air is filled with griddled meats. By all logic, you shouldn't want to go a dive bar...but you should want to come to Club Tee Gee. read more

A good place for groups or a casual date. The early crowd was friendly and gave it a chill neighborhood bar ambiance. They say it gets more lively at night. There's also a side room that they open up for music and dancing or other events. They have some good craft beers on draft and the cocktails are good too. I liked the First Time Caller cocktail. Not much going on for happy hour though, a few discounted beers and a discount on the boilermakers. Service was good. Friendly staff. Club Tee Gee is a cool spot. Thursday is my favorite night because of the burger pop-up, TNT Burgers and Peacock Comedy--I wish the DJ was better. I would stay longer. There isn't a consistent vibe on the patio. Nice people but heavy on the Young Urban Professional vibes. Last Thursday, I went for a few burgers and the people sitting next to me had the most dry, cornball conversation...(Disclaimer: I love corny conversations but not the dry NPR-type with a B flat monotone frequency). Perhaps, the DJ is selecting bad songs because they are trying to match the audience...but no. I can't remember the DJ's name and if it is the same DJ every Thursday. All I know is that I order some sliders, buy a beer, eat my burgers and leave. If the music or the vibes were better I'd stay longer. I like large outdoor area with picnic tables. Parking is easy and is located behind the bar. Drinks are reasonable. Service is normal. I love the photo of Bobby Womack on the wall. i would love to buy off the owner. It belongs in my living room. I doubt less than 1% of the patrons know how about Bobby Womack and his guitar skills. read more

Est.1946.You can't really exactly call this a dive bar especially with what they charge for drinks ($14 ) which are never offered at a lower price btw but nevertheless it is one of my favorite places to grab a cocktail in my hometown . I love the decor and overall dark moody vibe. This place isn't really gimmicky . It's strength comes the ambiance and from the talented bartenders and strong and thoughtful cocktail menu. Something else that I really love about this bar is they often have live music ( biweekly bands ) as well as host a lot of pop up food businesses like yellow paper burger yum . One of my only complaints which is probably best for my wallet is this place is on the other side of town from where I live but definitely worth the drive . read more

I just moved to a new neighborhood and passed this club on Glendale Blvd. Something inside me said, "go to Club Tee Gee." I ended up going later that evening with a DJ friend. We were kind of blown away by the sound system in the dance room! The large Disco Ball, fashionable lighting and ambiance enhanced the good vibes. A tad on the young urban professional side--but hey, everyone was dancing and having a great time on a Friday night. We were just at club tee gee for the last 2 hours of the night and the bouncer present was being incredibly disrespectful and homophobic. We were sitting in one of the booths and as the night was coming to an end the bouncer specifically approached our booth and started to kick us out while there was a plethora of people to our left and to our right that he hadn't approached. Please keep mind our uber was ordered and already 3 min away which we explained to him. Through out the span of 2 min he approached us 3 times telling us to leave while there was a table full of people (5-8+ at each table) to our left and to our right that he didn't approach a single time. The only difference between our table and theirs was that we were gay and the other tables were not. We decided to get up from the table so that my friend could grab his card and once again we were the only people in a room of 20+ being approached to leave. The bouncer was incredibly disrespectful and used language that was incredibly targeted and made it evident that we were being profiled amongst a wider group. I've loved coming to this bar in the past but my friends have never experienced anything g like this and witnessing it firsthand was incredibly heartbreaking and disheartening. read more

Whole place was full of smoke or something to the point where my friends were choking on it. Bar tenders were rude and dismissive of my partner. He ended up waiting a total of 45 minutes to be served, while we understand it was a busy night it was amazing to watch several bartenders completely ignore him and serve everyone around him including people who came at the same time as him and those who came after him... And then having to wait even longer after he expressed this because the woman told to serve us had to talk to every single one of her co workers before she went on a Journey to find our drinks. Menus were very hard to come by so we ordered off the wall specials, which we found out later were canned pre made cocktails. They were awful and had very little information on the can even the bar tenders couldn't tell us what the alcohol content was. I found their lack of information and sketchy cans concerning...
