Came here after a whole day of day drinking with friends at a beer share. A few of us weren't ready to end the night quite yet and this place sounded perfect. The spot is not super vibe-y in that it's chill and elegant without feeling elitist. You can meet here with friends or with one other person and have a great time with convo over delicious cocktails. The bar is pretty well stocked with a variety of spirits. I personally ordered a couple Bees Knees and a Dirty Martini. I thought both were well made and had a good amount of booze in them. Just a great spot to hang out in before or after dinner in the area. Parking could be tricky, but I think we got lucky since it was a Sunday evening and we were able to find parking within two blocks.

Dark and loud ambiance. Self-seating and order at the bar! Parking can be tough though. Ordered the Paraiso which was on the sweeter side! Could definitely taste the grapefruit and the alcohol wasn't overly strong. I would order it again since I prefer sweeter cocktails. My friend ordered the Miracle Tonic which was suuuper strong in my opinion, but obviously depends on your preference.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this neighborhood bar. It feels welcoming and a place where everyone could know your name after even just one visit. Hospitable and clean, the modern decor was elegant yet still casual. As for drinks, my Gin Gimlet was superb. The handmade truffle potato chips were a delish pairing, so it's no wonder they all disappeared so quickly. Happy Hour is one of my favorite things to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon. So I'm sure I'll be back with more friends soon enough. HAPPY HOUR M-F: 4-6PM SATURDAY: 2-6PM SUNDAY: 2-8PM

Hit up this spot last night and had a great time! The crowd is hipster casual, service is solid with some very handsome bartenders, and the drinks are great! Decor is modern with a chic feel, and though this spot doesn't serve food there was an amazing pizza truck out front which they allow you to eat inside the bar. Bonus points for easy street parking in the area. Definitely looking forward to having more drinks here very soon!

The Grant is a modern chic lounge bar in Glassell Park. Interior design and layout were great. They have good selection of beers, wine and cocktails. Atmosphere was chill and perfect for a first date or hangout. Bartenders were nice and friendly. Prices were fair. Street parking only. Overall, I had a good drink and experience.

During my visit I sat at the bar top. This is a nice place to grab a drink after work. The place was busy in a Thursday. Everyone that was there looked like they just came straight from the office. Will visit again soon. Old Fashioned- 10/10 Straight forward and tasty Paraiso- 10/10 Nice and subtle gin drink.

Some of the friendliest bar men I've encountered. Always professional, polite, and welcoming. Theres a pizza truck right outside if you must eat and they will bring the food inside where you can eat, no problem. Great ambiance overall. Never seen crazy drinks or people being nasty. Check them out!

Good happy hour selection, cute date place for casual conversation (brightly lit, 1 big room w/ 2 cozy sections for group seating) Bartender (only 1 avail) was sweet, even though seemed quite busy! Would come back for happy hour - wine/beer is a good deal!

Fun atmosphere, delicious drinks, good service! Great menu with drinks with all different flavors + liquor and they have a happy hour menu as well! I got the daiquiri which they said was "og". It was served in an up glass and was light & refreshing! Would definitely get it again

The bar was charming and cozy with super dimly lit atmosphere . I would recommend coming early to secure a seat at the bar or one of their small tables. The drinks were good, and so was the service. Parking wasn't too bad, and I would definitely come back.

Found this place randomly and what a find it was. It wasn't near a busy area but it is surrounded by neighborhoods and small streets so parking could be an issue. I happen to be there earlier on in the day so I lucked out and found parking really close. The place was not too packed, but there were still a few patrons sitting at the bar and some of the tables(booths) were taken. The place itself looks pretty upscale with a calm vibe. The noise level was pleasant enough for normal conversation. They had a mix of beers and cocktails, no food though. They also have a very good happy hour menu. The bartenders were extremely friendly and they seem to know a few of the regulars. I feel like this would be a go to prime spot if you lived in the neighborhood. Everything about this visit was amazing. I almost wanted to keep it to myself in hopes of having it be my special go-to place. Met up with a friend here and he enjoyed it a lot too.

I've had my eye on the Grant for quite some time now. Every time I've attempted to go, there has been no parking so I would leave To go elsewhere. I finally got to try the Grant on a thursday night. There was parking about a block away on the bridge. A short walk to the bar and you are invited with dark ambiance, lounge seating, and modern adornments. I tried the Rose on tap and the space walrus. The cocktail was great! Refreshing, slightly on the sweet side, and aromatic. The bartenders are friendly and it wasn't overly crowded. Perfect for a date or a small group. I will definitely return as long as I can find parking. :)

We were told seating was first come, first served, so when a table opened up outside, our group of five sat down while part of our group went inside to order. Almost immediately, my friends were aggressively accused by a waitress of bringing outside alcohol, which was completely untrue. Shortly after ordering multiple drinks and several plates of food, another staff member came to our table and began yelling at us, threatening to kick us out for being "rude" to staff, even though we had done nothing but order our food and drinks. What made it even more uncomfortable was watching other guests openly smoking weed while staff said nothing, yet our group felt watched, accused, and singled out the entire time. As the only Latino group sitting outside, the experience left us feeling unwelcome, uncomfortable, and discriminated against. As a fellow restaurant owner, I understand hospitality and house policies, which is why this treatment was especially disappointing. As a I grew up in Highland Park I took my wife to visit The Arroyo Club bar to celebrate her recent promotion after the bar was recommended to us by a close friend. We were looking forward to a fun evening and decided to participate in the trivia game being hosted that night. After receiving an answer sheet from the host, Matt, my wife and I began playing. The trivia topic was based on an older television show that we were unfamiliar with, and we initially used our phones to look up answers. A male individual approached us and informed us that using our phones was considered cheating. We accepted that explanation, stopped using our phones, and continued playing. Later in the evening, I observed bartender Justin speaking with the same individual and appearing to provide him with answers. When I questioned how that was different from what we had been told not to do, Justin stated that it was not cheating because they were part of a group. I responded that it was only a game and not a serious issue, especially considering my wife and I had only accumulated a few points. At that point, the interaction became uncomfortable. Justin informed the host that my wife and I should be disqualified for cheating, despite the fact that we had stopped using our phones when instructed. The employee who had originally confronted us also became increasingly confrontational, which my wife and I found intimidating. I later asked another bartender, Zach, what the concern was, and he explained that the winning prize was $50. While I understand the importance of maintaining fair rules, the way the situation was handled felt unnecessarily hostile and embarrassing. What made the experience even more disappointing was that we appeared to be the only minority guests present at the time, and we observed other patrons using their phones without being confronted. This left us feeling singled out and unwelcome. My wife attempted to discuss how the situation made us feel with a female bartender who had blue hair. Unfortunately, her reaction appeared dismissive, and our concerns did not seem to be taken seriously. As we prepared to leave, the employee who had initially confronted us remained nearby staring in our direction, which further contributed to our discomfort. For reference, we were seated at the right corner of the bar if you were facing the bar from the front. I am not seeking compensation. Rather, I hope management will review the events of that evening, including any available security footage and discussions with staff members present. No guest should leave feeling targeted, embarrassed, or unwelcome while simply trying to enjoy a night out celebrating a special occasion.
