NOTE: This review is from 2022. We were in the area for something else and decided to give this place a try as our first large-scale escape room. We've been a bit spoiled from going to Rabbit Hole Recreation Services since then :-), but this is certainly one of the better places in Colorado. We did Alcatraz and "Jack's Revenge" (both changed/replaced as of now). Loved the family atmosphere and their heart for the Lord. Positive highlights: 1. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Gamemasters were engaging and told you what you needed to know. 2. Set and props were detailed and immersive (but see critique #1 below). A delight to look at and work with. No music, but neat sound design. Plenty of cool moments and effects, if a little "tamer" than Rabbit Hole. One puzzle in particular kind of blew our minds (think "Wow, are we actually about to do this?). Big props for the technology/engineering. 3. Puzzles were fun and creative! Challenging but achievable overall. (See critique #2 below.) 4. They provide a "grace period" of 15 minutes when you've hit the time limit, which was extremely helpful and allowed us to still finish the game ourselves. This gave a feeling of accomplishment that I actually prefer to Rabbit Hole. (They pace the game well and show you the end if necessary, but it's not quite the same.) 5. They were laid-back in general and fine with pictures and videos inside, as long as you didn't post spoilers. Some small critiques: 1. A few out-of-place props: both rooms included some fake severed limbs or similar bloody parts, some of which we had to interact with for a clue. Not hyperrealistic or extremely gory, but seemed distracting/unnecessary to the story and detracted slightly from the family-friendly vibe. 2. A couple of the puzzles or story elements were a little disconnected or confusing, which I understand now after visiting other top-tier rooms. We just chalked it up to being newbies at the time. Nothing horrible! 3. The gamemaster spoke hints over the speakers, which worked fine, although it broke the immersion a bit. (I personally prefer textual hints integrated into each set, like what Rabbit Hole does.) Also, for the Alcatraz room, we got a small penalty for each hint (losing optional "cigarettes" that determined who could spin the prize wheel at the end). I personally don't prefer that, since I already have to already force myself to ask when I need hints; however some people might appreciate this extra motivation to rely on each other first. 4. Pricing is on the high side with no tiering. (For 4+ people, for instance, Rabbit Hole is actually less.) However, it's still a great place and we were happy to support them. All in all, definitely recommend! read more

I've done over 25 escape rooms, but I've only played one room here so far. We booked the Bermuda Triangle room and played it with 4 people. Escaped with about 8 minutes left to spare (52 min. finish). The room was well-themed and had a nice variety of puzzles/challenges/gimmicks. It wasn't "creepy" or "scary" in terms of thematic elements, which means it's good for a variety of people not looking for a "horror" room. Puzzles were inventive and fun. It felt a little bit chaotic (as opposed to some rooms which feel more linear and step-by-step). Overall, pretty fun room and I'm looking forward to trying the others at this location. The only "negative" note I have is that there was one puzzle element (which I won't spoil here) that was missing a clue. We managed to solve it, but when I asked about it after playing, the game master informed us that they had to remove an element of that puzzle from the room because too many players had broken parts of it. Not sure how best to fix that, but puzzles that need prompts that have been removed is a little bit of a bummer. It's not dropping my 5-star rating, but it seems worthy to note. Highly recommend getting a group of 4-6 together and trying the Bermuda Triangle room! There are some fun surprises in there that are worth it! read more

These are some of my all time favorite rooms that I have ever played! My team and I just visited to play Jack's Revenge and Escape the Bermuda Triangle. Both rooms were absolutely amazing, with special effects that I have never seen in an escape room. If you are looking for a fun challenge that will take your breath away, this is the place to go!! My wife and I absolutely adore escape rooms. We've lost count of how many rooms we've done, not just in Loveland and Fort Collins but also in Boulder, Denver, San Fran, NYC, Minneapolis/St Paul, Philadelphia, and probably other places we're forgetting about. Amazingly, out of all of these, our favorite rooms are consistently right in our backyard here in Loveland at Clueology. It is literally a family business, run by Krista, Jake and their kids. But their rooms are consistently better than the big corporate cookie-cutter rooms you find all over larger cities! Specifically, they have some amazing elements: 1. Every room has some quirky humor mixed in with the puzzles that lightens up the intense solving you're doing, but never in a cheesey way that detracts from the room. 2. Every room has really great puzzles that are difficult yet make sense. We've never gotten stuck and then later been like ``oh THAT was what you were supposed to do?'' The puzzles always come with that sense of accomplishment and satisfaction afterwards. 3. Every room has impressive technology and decor/thematic elements that really contribute to the wow factor. Besides all this, you really can't beat their customer service. Krista couldn't be more delightful to work with, and really cares deeply about making sure everyone has a great experience at Clueology. Don't miss the best escape room center we've found! Great escape rooms that are super fun! But their website just sucks. Most escape room websites allow you to buy one ticket at a time, which is helpful when you have a large group of friends and can just send them a link so they can all get tickets. At clueology you HAVE to buy four at minimum. Then after someone buys four, you cant buy anymore. THEN when you get there you have to pay with cash or add it to the other card who paid which is just super inconvenient. Especially because its 2019 and everyone mainly pays with a card. Other than that its pretty good for escape rooms that have fun tech and great ideas for rooms. Fixing the website, the process to get tickets, and maybe get a card slider and Clueology would be golden! But the website says a lot and makes you not want to buy tickets. read more

I had an exceptional experience at Clueology Rooms in Loveland! The rooms themselves outstanding- from the complexity of the puzzles, to the theatrics and overall ambiance. My boyfriend and I successfully completed 2 rooms by ourselves with minimal hints. By far within my top 3 rooms! I would highly recommend the Earthquake room and the Mole rooms. My friends and I kicked off the new year with a trip to Loveland for Clueology. Our group of four explored a government agent's mysterious mountain cabin in The Fallout Room and then took an ill-fated tour of a nuclear power facility in Quake. Both adventures feature a variety of visual challenges, code and logic puzzles, and procedural tasks draped in immersive staging and sophisticated technology. I enjoyed both Fallout and Quake but slightly preferred the latter. Fallout Room is ideal for larger escape room groups and our foursome struggled a bit to navigate the 19 puzzles required to reach the conclusion. Quake features some innovative and dramatically executed technology that I won't explicitly spoil but may be guessable from the room's name. Clueology owners Ryan and Krista were excellent hosts and are right to be proud for their creations. Check this place out! read more

This was our first experience with an escape room and we loved it. The staff was informative and explained how the game worked. They even disconnected the strobe light (they make me sick) to accommodate and insure a pleasant visit. A must visit. Can't wait for their new game. read more

Our school did a teambuilding event for new students and it was a fantastic experience! The owners were extremely helpful and made it easy from start to finish. This is the perfect location with lots of rooms for any type of event - teambuilding, parties, date night, etc. We'll definitely be back! read more
