I have done a few escape rooms in Fort Collins. This escape room was the most fun I have had yet! We had the Egyptian room and the quest and clues and layout was excellent. From the decor to the way the clues in the process were set up I was very impressed. My children also enjoyed the room and the evening! We will definitely be back for the next escape room. From entering and being greeted by a staff member to the history and review prior to going into the escape room the experience was excellent. We felt like we were VIPs and we were well taken care of. The facility itself is very clean and well organized. The attention to details both outside the escape room and inside are wonderful. If you were looking for an Escape Room in the area I highly recommend Markey. Book ahead and lock in your reservation for an evening of fun and challenge. We worked the entire hour to solve the puzzle which was very rewarding.

The room felt like it could have belonged to an ancient alchemist: nothing seemed forced or out of place. The puzzles surprised me with their ingenuity and inventiveness - I've never seen so much thought put into escape room puzzles even from big companies. The fact that the game takes place in one of the oldest buildings in Fort Collins is a cherry on top. We also visited another escape room in Fort Co the next day, and while it was good, it did not feel nearly as authentic and thrilling as this one. Truly the highlight of my anniversary trip. Each of us enjoyed working through the riddles/puzzles and although we were told that the escape success rate was 35%, we were DETERMINED to escape. With that being said, we worked our way through all of the clues and were able to escape. We truly felt so proud of ourselves hahaha. I only wish there was a sequel to it so we could continue the series. Teamwork makes the dream work! ^_^ I highly recommend this Escape Room for anyone in the area :)

I won't reveal any of the "secrets" about the Sole Survivor but there isn't anything to reveal because our group figured out all of the tasks by just touching items to other things to get through the rooms. There was no consistency in the setting or theme of the rooms. The themes included were a cross between Japanese Anime, Egyptian, Aztec, and Catholic. The audio for it was too quiet to hear, which we were warned about, but it didn't matter because the audio instructions didn't play into the puzzles! The text clues that you found also were irrelevant because you could finish them by just touching stuff together! The story was incomprehensible. I'm not surprised they said that there was a 15% finish rate because we just got lucky. The only cool aspect of this escape room is that there was more than one room that you go in. Not worth $40 at all. Side note, they play "What it's like" by Everlast when you finish the escape room, which was so random and out of place it was the cherry on top of this dumpster fire.

There are rules posted EVERYWHERE even inside the rooms reminding you to be gentle with the things inside. We are all in our 30's. We are 2 married couples. We were incredibly respectful of their belongings. Everything was fun until we came out of the room. Steve said we were the "worst wrecking ball" he had ever seen. There is no freaking way. Now, he is calling us leaving voicemails and trying to say we damaged property there. He was very rude both after the escape room and also on the phone. He said he considered charging us for damage, but then instantly changed his mind because he KNOWS WE DIDN'T DAMAGE ANYTHING. Steve was super unprofessional in every aspect of this transaction. He also was horrible at telling us the story about the escape room before hand. He has ZERO enthusiasm. And then he complained about having to reset the clues in the room too!!! We paid $125 for 4 people to do 1 room. I think that price should include having them reset their own escape room, right? Lol. Ridiculous. NEVER give this place your business. Steve should definitely be reviewed by the owners thoroughly.

We've been a bit spoiled from going to Rabbit Hole Recreation Services since then :-), but this is certainly one of the better places in Colorado. We did Alcatraz and "Jack's Revenge" (both changed/replaced as of now). Loved the family atmosphere and their heart for the Lord. Positive highlights: 1. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Gamemasters were engaging and told you what you needed to know. 2. Set and props were detailed and immersive (but see critique #1 below). A delight to look at and work with. No music, but neat sound design. Plenty of cool moments and effects, if a little "tamer" than Rabbit Hole. One puzzle in particular kind of blew our minds (think "Wow, are we actually about to do this?). Big props for the technology/engineering. 3. Puzzles were fun and creative! Challenging but achievable overall. (See critique #2 below.) 4. They provide a "grace period" of 15 minutes when you've hit the time limit, which was extremely helpful and allowed us to still finish the game ourselves. This gave a feeling of accomplishment that I actually prefer to Rabbit Hole. (They pace the game well and show you the end if necessary, but it's not quite the same.) 5. They were laid-back in general and fine with pictures and videos inside, as long as you didn't post spoilers. Some small critiques: 1. A few out-of-place props: both rooms included some fake severed limbs or similar bloody parts, some of which we had to interact with for a clue. Not hyperrealistic or extremely gory, but seemed distracting/unnecessary to the story and detracted slightly from the family-friendly vibe. 2. A couple of the puzzles or story elements were a little disconnected or confusing, which I understand now after visiting other top-tier rooms. We just chalked it up to being newbies at the time. Nothing horrible! 3. The gamemaster spoke hints over the speakers, which worked fine, although it broke the immersion a bit. (I personally prefer textual hints integrated into each set, like what Rabbit Hole does.) Also, for the Alcatraz room, we got a small penalty for each hint (losing optional "cigarettes" that determined who could spin the prize wheel at the end). I personally don't prefer that, since I already have to already force myself to ask when I need hints; however some people might appreciate this extra motivation to rely on each other first. 4. Pricing is on the high side with no tiering. (For 4+ people, for instance, Rabbit Hole is actually less.) However, it's still a great place and we were happy to support them. All in all, definitely recommend!
