I called about a tune-up, and was told after giving my info they would call back. They never did, and here is my review.

Very deceiving. Pretend to be honest but only want to rip you off. Failed to fix my engine after I paid them. Find another mechanic!

HUGE MISTAKE. I asked for an oil change while they were at it. They sold me on a new battery too. When i checked out, I saw the emissions test hadn't been done, and when I pointed that out they said "oh, we can't do it now because we put in a new battery and reset the computer, you'll have to drive around for at least 100 miles and bring it back." THE MAIN THING I NEEDED, THEY DIDNT DO, and couldn't do, BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO FOCUSED ON UPSELLING me an overpriced battery. It's always the same story with these incompetent clowns, I never should have given them a second chance.

I had been…read morewithout AC on my truck for an entire summer and I wasn't about to do it again so I bit the bullet took my truck in. First off, I had a quote from another shop that diagnosed my AC issue and asked Ashford Memorial if they could beat the price and they said yes. Well, it ended up being almost $1200. ( the quote was just over $1000) so they didnt beat it but anyway. My AC was blowing again so I was happy. I must point out that it has never worked as good as it did before it went in but it does blow well and cools for the most part. Within the first week of getting my truck back comes all of the weird stuff. My hazards would come on randomly while driving. When I turn my right signal on, the left one would come on instead or the hazards would come on instead. Then different dash lights would come on randomly and turn off. Me being a worry wart, I would check fluids, when the lights would come on and nothing low. I got an oil change even though it wasnt time and it still kept happening. Then I noticed that my hazards button appeared to be stuck down... so I saw that the steering wheel cover was wedged against it holding it down so it couldnt move so I smaked the cover just enough to shift it to where the button was free. That ended the hazards and turn signal issues but not the icon lights in my dash. So I delt with it a few more months and then it was time for my inspection/registration. I take it to my normal place and they say their computers cannot connect. I was so upset. They said I should go to a dealership and have them try. Well after trying 4 dealerships that couldnt help me because supposedly my truck is a 2006 and their computers only worked on vehiles as old as the lot has been open. Atleast that is what I was told. Then the 5th one that had been open more than 2 decades said they were backed up 4 weeks due to all the flooded vehicles and couldnt get me in. By then my inspection would be past due. I finally got a recommendation from a friend about a shop they had gotten really good service from so I tried them. Long story short, I ended up having to replace my entire computer because Ashford Memorial had to open my dash and disconnect my computer to fix my AC and then didnt put it back correctly and it was completely fried! So 3 weeks and $3000 later I have my truck back with a new computer, AC that works at like 75%, but it passed inspection and runs great so I guess it could be worse. I do want to point out that I didnt contact Ashford Memorial to ask them about my issues once it was diagnosed by the shop I used even though they asked me if I wanted to try that before they got started working on it. I just didnt want Ashford Memorial to touch my truck again once I was told that they destroyed my trucks computer. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 star is because my AC does work.

STAY AWAY FROM "CHRISTIAN" BROTHERS AUTOMOTIVE...ELDRIDGE…read more I am writing to express my dissatisfaction and frustration with Christian Brothers Automotive located at 844 N. Eldridge Pwky. Based on my recent experiences, while they offer competitive oil change pricing to get you in the door, I have consistently felt pressured into approving unnecessary repairs. They take a very long time because they also examine your entire engine to see if you need anything else because..."they just want you to be safe". You go in for an oil change and they take about an hr, if not more. Ive always felt that they are not honest. I take my car there ONLY to have my oil changed, because they are near by, and they offer "specials". I have been a returning customer but have grown concerned about the honesty of their recommendations, and possibly their auto repair work. During a recent visit, I was told that two expensive parts needed to be replaced on my Lexus. They stated it was critical that both be replaced as soon as possible to prevent from being stranded. They even provided photographic evidence of the damaged parts...BUT..they weren't pictures of my car's parts though - very misleading, and frustrating... They provided pictures of some other cars. After feeling doubt, a second opinion from two, reputable independent mechanics confirmed that neither part was damaged. I felt misled and that the shop was creating unnecessary repairs. Im glad I didnt waste money on these unnecessary repairs, as Im sure many of their innocent victims have. This experience was unethical and very concerning adding unnecessary stress and leg-work to their customers. Its ashamed that they take advantage of the high-end area of The Energy Corridor. It is very disappointing to feel that a business relies on misleading customers regarding safety issues to increase their revenue." Essentially, robbing their customers. On top of that using Christianity to manipulate their customers. They've been practicing like this for many, many years. Using the term "Christian" to manipulate their customers into believing they are honest and fair. NOT TRUE. And nothing Christian about these monsters who are stealing from their customers.

I have a Ram TRX and had purchased a pair of Flowmaster Outlaw mufflers myself on Amazon. I found some that were returns/like-new for a great price, so I brought them in and had Affordable Muffler remove the factory mufflers, fit the Flowmasters into the existing exhaust, and weld everything back together. They did a great job. The welds look clean, everything was installed nicely, and I'm extremely happy with how the TRX sounds. I was happy enough with their work that some friends with TRXs ended up going there and having the same thing done. My one warning is to be VERY clear about the price before they start. I talked to the guy three different times and somehow got three different prices. Ultimately, I paid the price we had agreed on, so there wasn't a problem. I don't think he was trying to be sketchy--it felt more like a small-business owner negotiating and trying to make a deal--but I'd definitely recommend confirming the final price before they start working. It's a small operation, basically a guy and his helper in an area with several automotive repair businesses. Don't expect a fancy performance shop, but that's also not what I needed. For a straightforward job like mine--cutting out the existing mufflers and welding in replacements--I would absolutely go back. If I were doing a complete custom exhaust system, I'd personally go to a dedicated performance shop that specializes in designing and building full exhaust systems. For what I asked Affordable Muffler to do, though, they did it very well. Good-looking welds, good installation, and my TRX sounds fantastic with the Flowmaster Outlaws. Just make sure everyone is on the same page about the price before the work starts.

After a routine oil change at this Take 5 location, I discovered fresh oil spots on my driveway. Since I live 200 miles away and my vehicle is still under the factory warranty, I took it to my Toyota dealer rather than risk engine damage. The dealer found that the oil filter had been left loose, allowing oil to leak onto the frame. They also found oil spilled across the engine cover, apparently from the oil fill process, and I was never informed that this had happened. (Photos attached.) The manager, David, was not on site but spoke with the staff and me by speakerphone. His solution was to offer a 25% discount on a future oil change. Considering that their sloppy workmanship caused the problem, I found that response completely inadequate. A sincere apology and a full refund would have demonstrated accountability and a genuine interest in keeping a loyal customer. Although I live 200 miles away, I work in Houston, drive three vehicles, and have spent thousands of dollars with this company over the years. I asked whether he would at least consider a 50% refund, especially since I've received 50% off promotional coupons in the past. He refused. I understand that mistakes happen. What defines a business is how it responds when those mistakes are brought to its attention. A loyal, repeat customer presented a legitimate complaint that was confirmed by a Toyota dealership, yet management chose to minimize the issue rather than make it right. David's handling of this situation has cost Take 5 far more than the price of one oil change. It has cost them a long-term customer, and my future business will go to a company that stands behind its work.
