DO. NOT. USE. CLUTTER! They trick you into thinking they deliver your stuff anywhere, and that they can send it via FedEx. Turns out they can't! I moved to another state, and they told me that I would need to go to their WA facility to pick my stuff. As for their FedEx delivery, according to them, it is only for "selected costumers" (they don't specify which ones). They misguide you with their website, and the customer service is awful. Do yourself a favor and don't use their services. You can find better options. read more

Pay to get your stuff broken!!!! Never use this company, ever! I stored my stuff with them for 6 months and they broke 4 things. I had a perfectly beautiful Ikea kitchen Island that I took really great care of, the movers literally dropped it Infront of me. When I opened it to assemble it the wood was broken and they are denying the claim stating that it is composite wood and not covered under their warranty. I had a lamp that was undone and they broke the wire, $85.00 lamp and they are only giving me $6 for it. Broke the leg off of my dresser which is made of pure wood, costed over 3,000 and calling it a minor damage. Lets note even talk about my TV console. 1-Star Review I had a terrible experience with this moving company. They were scheduled to arrive between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM for my move. During that entire window, we had the freight elevator booked, and my girlfriend waited at the apartment for them. They didn't show up until after 3:00 PM, over three hours late. By then, the freight elevator was no longer available and my girlfriend had to leave to catch her flight. I contacted the concierge, who kindly offered to stay in the apartment and supervise the move -- but the movers still refused to do the job, even after being given full access. Instead, they cancelled my booking on the spot. This happened on the final day of my lease, leaving me completely stranded with no movers at 3 PM on a Sunday. On top of that, they now have the audacity to charge me a cancellation fee for a cancellation they caused by turning up late and refusing to work. read more

After paying the 30 dollar fee for a specified time, I chose to have the movers come between 7 and 8, the movers didn't actually get here until 9:15. While moving the items out the movers broke the elevator door to the apartment complex and knocked the fire exit sign off of the ceiling. Upon leaving they also left a Clutter box behind. read more

They are very efficient and professional. Note that even for storage by the box (my selection), the approach is the same as moving: you get your items ready to go and labelled before their visit, they load your boxes on their truck and photograph the inventory (label or contents). You also pay a fee for gas on every visit, plus per hour of moving staff time. If you are planning to move, but do not know the move to location yet, their storage options are great if you have everything ready to go immediately, and ready to load up in less than an hour. The per box ($5 per box) is also ideal for businesses storing archived paper files: each box must be less than 35 lbs, and no more than 3 cubic ft. read more

In the beginning this was a good service. The movers themselves who took my things to storage were great. Unfortunately, now it is time to get my things out of storage, and here the problems start. First of all, there is a hidden pickup fee. If I want to get an appointment to pick my things up from Clutter's location, it costs $600. Yes, you read that right, $600 to pick my own things up. Second, there is no way to speak with a person at the Seattle location. It is not possible. Every customer service chat or call option connects you with a service center in India, and they are unable to transfer calls to America. Now I have no problem with foreign call centers -- that part is fine -- but near as I can tell, the Seattle location actually does not actually have a phone number. I have scheduled a delivery, and it requires some slightly complex instructions. I cannot attend because I live out of country, so I am having a third party receive my stuff. This involves third-party communication and arrival timing that really requires a voice conversation, but there is no way to speak with a human being. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I know their offering is compelling, but they will hold your things hostage behind massive undisclosed fees and will actively prevent you from speaking with the people responsible for delivery. read more

This company broke my couch, everything that came back to me had like heat damag. they only offer you 1000 in damages my couch alone cost 1200 they tell you to file a claim if it's over 1000 you cannot imput it even if the damage is on them. When the movers arrive they asked if I had talked to their manager because the couch was damaged I thought maybe it was minor the whole arm was broke like the sat it on its side but it was leaving, i have still yet to speak with someone. They tried to charge me 800 2 etra hrs when they were on the phone with their boss discussing what to do about my couch for 45min. Now I'm getting a email talkin about I have to sign some papers for them to dispose of it. mind you I can't even see what it says cause a pop up covers the whole page. I had clothes my white clothes came out yellow like it had been smoked around. The company is just trash. Had my stuff in storage for over 3yrs they can't even give me a phone call to figure out my couch but all the emails saying if I don't sign they'll charge me for having to put the couch back. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I've had multiple issues with them since my original review. When I signed up with them, I was told there were no fees to add/remove things from storage. When I took things out of storage, I was charged almost $500 to remove things from storage. I brought this to their attention and they wouldn't honor their word. I've been incorrectly billed on numerous occasions as well. When I scheduled a date to remove things from storage, I was told there was a "delay in processing some of my items" and I needed to schedule another date, which was a huge hassle, and I was charged although I was promised I wouldn't be. Most importantly, they lost and never delivered items worth over $5k. They destroyed and broke other items (including multiple large sectionals) worth over $10k. I had many other items that were in perfect condition that came back to me with deep scratches, wood/finish peeled off, huge tears in the fabric, missing feet or hardware, etc. Upon delivery, they also damaged my new hardwood floors and fresh paint in the house, which I asked them to be careful of. I've never had a moving or storage company be so reckless with my items, many of which were valuable, irreplaceable items that have been in my family for decades and came from overseas. I'm absolutely devastated. Dealing with them has been a nightmare, I feel very misled by them and false promises. Customer service is awful. Their people are absolutely wonderful and incredibly efficient. For I give the company five stars though their movers on both sides each deserve TEN STARS. This company however seriously needs to improve its website. It is not at all easy to understand and navigate for a first timer even on familiar with online business. Where as their people were great communicators, their website does not have anywhere near the same functionality. I hope I won't be moving again anytime soon but if I do, Clutter's PEOPLE have won my heart and business. Update from my 2020 review: Nearly 2 years later and I just received the last of our items from storage. Over the years, Clutter was really easy to work with. I sent things back and forth more than a few times and the customer service was always wonderful. Today, Mike showed up at my door with a smile and a great attitude and was just a delight to work with. As were Rob and Eric. And I'm pretty sure Joe helped me at the beginning and also brought the first round of my stuff back a couple weeks ago. I was tired of Public Storage and their ability to raise rates on you whenever they felt like it. Went on the Internet to look for an alternative solution and came across an ad for Clutter. What a novel idea! You pay for storage only. They have per item charges if you only want to store a few things or you can rent space. Movers will come to help pack your stuff if it's needed. Everything is photographed and labeled and you have access to it via an online account. They pick up and take away your items to some warehouse somewhere and when you want your stuff back, just pick which boxes you want on your online account and they send it back to you within a few days. It's not instant gratification where you can go and see what's in storage and rummage through and pull out what you need but with a little planning ahead, this seems to be a very viable thing. What I didn't really like was the inconsistency of the movers. If you got a great moving team, awesome! They treated your things with respect and everything was moved efficiently. When you got a not so great team some of your delicate glass items could be broken. Of course you can file a claim but that's such a hassle. One team broke two of my antique glass table tops and some of my bathroom glass containers. Instead of an "I'm so sorry", it was a "I'm so sick of this glass!" Also, at public storage I was paying for a 10 x 20 unit and yet everything that they took out of my 10 x 20 didn't seem to fit in their 10 x 20 unit so they had to upgrade me to the next plan which was 10 x 30. I was confused as to why my stuff at Public Storage didn't fit into their 10 x 20. Turns out Public Storage measures in square feet and Clutter uses cubic feet which is smaller. Even though I had to upgrade my plan, at least what I'm paying monthly will never increase. FIVE STARS FOR THE MOVERS GARY AND KASSIDY! One star for whoever deals with this stuff in the warehouse and loads the trucks. MOVERS: Gary and Kassidy moved all our stuff and they were fantastic! They were nice, on time, fun, and VERY efficient. STORAGE: Whoever deals with storage at the warehouse and then packs the truck clearly do not do the job well. I could tell that stuff was broken where things were improperly stacked. Heavy items were on top of light. Clearly heavy boxes had been put on top of the weakest point of the sofa and cracked it. Honestly if Gary and Kassidy weren't so awesome, this would be a one star review. In dealing with moving companies before, I know damage claims will be a nightmare so I'm not looking forward to that. Also we're pulling everything out DO clutter because they had offered free pick up and delivery and suddenly it costs an arm and a leg to get anything back. Please look at other storage companies. Do not make the same mistake we did. We actually signed up with a company that was acquired by Clutter. The original company did not charge for belongings to be returned. Clutter did not honor that. Had our belongings delivered... many items were broken. Clutter misplaced one of our bags so we had to schedule another delivery. On the first delivery, 10 Dec 23, the back of the truck was opened and REEKED of marijuana. Following that delivery, we were charged our monthly fee again even though our items were delivered and service was canceled prior to the next billing cycle. We were assured that we would not be charged for the second delivery. They didn't charge us for the delivery itself, but they did charge us for gas. I had to connect with them again to reverse yet another charge. I did connect with two outstanding customer service reps... Anushri and Radeem. Both very helpful in reversing charges and providing me direct access to register a complaint. My recommendation to the company is to check the trucks coming in to see if they smell like marijuana. Not only did it take time for the marijuana odor to "leave" our belongings, but your company should be concerned about liability. Nothing like driving high on company time with company property! Note to Chris, the manager... please do not start your response to me with... "We apologize for the negative experiences you have faced with our company, as this is not indicative of our standards." Based on all of the negative reviews, this is clearly indicative of your standards. Step up your game or you will lose your business! Dear Chris -- What a "canned" response (see below). I hope that others read these reviews to understand how poorly your company operates. Pot smoking drivers should not be on the road. We began our storage term with Clutter's predecessor, Livibles, because of their excellent and accessible customer service and very affordable rates. When Clutter eventually became the owner of the service, we lost easy telephone access to friendly people, and our monthly rates just about tripled. We were not comfortable with the new rate structure. And when we investigated the high return delivery prices (compared to Livibles), we were shocked. The return process actually was efficient, easy enough to schedule, and the delivery team was careful. All went very, very well. We brought our own stuff up to a third floor dwelling by choice, but the rate reflected nothing about the shorter duration of the dropoff, which probably took a third of the usual time and labor. Also, it was hard to engage chat the first time -- just to weave through the website to find the option! Eventually we were in contact with good customer service chat representatives, and they left us feeling like we had made contact about things like delivery logistics and care of fragile items. And when we were informed that our delivery charge was $84 and a same-day cancellation would be $200, we just about choked. All the "friendly" of Livibles was gone, gone, gone! So, high marks for the delivery, the lowest for the huge change in rates from our first engagement with the predecessor company. Mightn't we have been 'grandfathered' into a loyalty or legacy customer rate, since we did not choose Clutter, we chose Livibles, and things changed without our input or feedback? Essentially, our stuff was hostage, and we were not asked to negotiate! We're grateful at least for a non-negative closing experience. Our stuff was itemized well, accounted for, and is in fine shape, same as when we left it. That matters. But we wouldn't choose Clutter again, and we wouldn't have chosen them as an option when we chose Livibles. RIP to the service we used to have, glad our stuff is safe at home now, glad it was properly taken care of. read more

TLDR: They charged me to come get my own stuff, weren't there when I arrived at my scheduled pick up time, and then charged me even more for a missed appointment... but that's just the beginning. I previously signed up with a company called Dropbox storage, and I was very happy with their service for a couple of years. The service would pick up, store, and return my boxes for one monthly flat fee. It was fantastic. Unfortunately, they apparently sold to Clutter in Sep 2023. I received no notification of the change until I went to log on to my account and was routed to Clutter's website where I had to create a new log-in. (how is that legal?) Once I got logged in I discovered that Clutter would not deliver my things to me (apparently I'm out of there service area?) And they would charge me $50 to come get my own stuff from their warehouse. Annoying, but what choice did I have? So, I booked a time to go get my things. The hours they were available were limited and inconvenient, and I ended up having to take the morning off work to drive an hour each way to get to their warehouse. When I arrived there was no one there. There was a handwritten sign taped to an emergency exit that said "For pickups call this number" Which I did, and received a robotic outgoing message "please leave a message for (phone number) after the beep". I left a voicemail and then proceeded to wait 20 minutes hoping someone would call or show up. In the meantime, I called Clutter's main phone line hoping to get customer support and waited on hold. After 20 minutes, I had to leave, since I still had to drive an hour back to work. I continued waiting on hold for the customer support. When they finally answered I explained the situation, (I was at the warehouse, no one was there, no one answered my calls, I left after 20 minutes) they told me that I was suppose to follow the email instructions supposedly sent that morning (the only thing I had received was their liability waiver). At that point I was still driving my phone dropped the call. There was no attempt by Clutter to recontact me... Until the next day they were kind enough to call me and tell me that I had missed my appointment, and that they had automatically charged my credit card $100 for a missed appointment. When I AGAIN explained the situation, the representative looked back at the notes and told me "My associate documented that you were given instructions at the warehouse but you decided to leave instead." She would offer no further help, other than to state "you can file a claim if you have a complaint." I also attempted to get support through their help chat. I went back and forth with them for about an hour, with them repeatedly stating that the issue was my fault. It went something like this: Me: I came for my appointment but no one was there. Them: Our records show that you didn't come Me: I was there. I called the number on the door. The number was... Them: Can you confirm that you were there? Me: I can show you screenshot of my location and call log Them (direct quote): "If you had just informed us via call, chat, or email that you were standing outside the warehouse then we would have directly asked the warehouse people to meet you outside." Me: So can you refund me for the missed appointment since I was there? Them: Our records show that you were no there. You can file a claim if you disagree. I did file a claim and was refunded my $100, with a note that stated "We apologize for the cancellation of your recent warehouse pickup but all of our records indicate you never showed up. With that said, we are happy to refund the $100 cancellation fee as a one time waiver." However, my stuff is still there. It's still a minimum of $50 and a 2 hour round trip drive to get my stuff back, and I have zero confidence that they will be there next time I drive all the way down there. Unbelievable. The craziest thing to me is that they have continually "documented" completely untrue statements in their call center notes, and then use them to dismiss and blame me for the whole debacle. I will definitely be filing a complaint with the BBB read more

The best part of my year long experience with clutter was the day they dropped off my stuff at my new storage unit. The team, Robert and Rem, were super fast, professional and courteous. It took them less than 45 minutes to get everything into my new unit. They were on time and let me know what was happening all along. Highly recommend those two. The rest of my experience with clutter has been horrendous. From taking 8 hours packing one room and greatly overcharging, which they made right by refunding my money, to not providing realistic options for getting my stuff out of storage. My bad for moving 'out of range' but one option to get a dresser back was to wait in a parking lot for 8 hours until they showed up. Another was to get a moving company to pick up my stuff in their storage, but I wasn't allowed in, so no company would agree to it. And they wouldn't provide me a company that has agreed to it. They only get 2 stars because of my final day experience. Good on that team for redeeming some of that company. read more

Do you like to gamble? Clutter is for you! I wanted to like clutter. I really did. It seemed too good to be true. Combining storage + moving sounds like a great idea. If you add that they will pack your stuff sounds surreal. But when you start digging into the execution details then you realize where this service falls apart. I scheduled a move for Aug. 29th between 9:00 and 12:00 for my 650 sq feet 1 bedroom apartment. I gave excruciating details on the items that were to be picked up on the call with "Elliot". They arrive around 11:30 (after two other pickups mind you) and they start to pack me up. Everything moves smoothly until 2:30 PM when one of the crew members says "There is no more space in the truck". So they basically had to unwrap some of the items and they left the following on my house: 1 King size matress and bedframe 1 King size headboard 1 Garment steamer 1 Irorning board 4 Plastic drawers for clothes 1 Step stool 1 MY WHOLE KITCHEN. Since I have to be completely moved out by Aug. 30th, i called them to see what options they had to solve my problem... and they said that they can only do another move on September 6th the earliest. When I was urging for the time constraints that I had, THEY RECOMMENDED ME TO TAKE UHAUL AND ANOTHER STORAGE to move my things. Ridiculous Now I have two options: Pay double my rent to stay for september (3800 dollars) or try somehow to get some storage and a uhaul and move everything myself. I urge you not to pick clutter if you want reliablity. The main problem is that they schedule multiple pick ups with the same crew in one day. That means that the space they will have available on the truck will vary depending on time of day. And they also have different sizes of trucks. And all of this is computed by a very simplistic, 2 minute phone call with the moving manager (in this case, "Elliot"). You can also put details online but there is no way to say how big the items are. You can see that the room for error here is incredible big. Maybe it works for moving smaller items into storage but then, if you just have smaller items you would use your building's storage for 50 or maybe 100 bucks a month. Any other type of storage is better for smaller items for that matter. read more

We moved from a 4000ft house into a 1400ft house and clutter came and did a fantastic job of cataloging and itemizing all of our furniture and belongings. We didn't know what we would need since we were downsizing so much, so the ability to get our stuff back with an app is so genius!!! With regards to returning my stuff, Gary and Joe were great. They were fast, efficient, and worked on Easter Sunday - real troopers. **5 stars** With regards to Customer Service, I'm still miffed that no one informed me via post or email that their policy had changed from returning stuff any time to returning stuff only once a month before incurring an extra charge. In addition there is a charge for scheduling earlier than 2 weeks out to return or pickup items. When I first signed up, there were no additional charges, now all of a sudden there are. Updating my review. My bill for 7hrs of work came out to ~1300. Keep in mind this was a very small move and in moving some of these same items in college, it NEVER took longer than 2hrs. What happened was our initial mover was against moving anything which could not fit on a dolly (so large pieces of furniture bed, desk, mattress, bookshelf etc.) and even went as far to claim that a simple bookshelf could NOT be moved (despite it being moved multiple times including a cross country move). At this point I have submitted my claim for the overage charge and am waiting to hear back. Please consider another service. Any moving company which can overcharge individuals to this degree due to a lack of checks and balances (i.e hiring movers with little moving experience who take 7hrs for an easy move) does not deserve business. Again, I have moved multiple times in college, and lastly for work, it has NEVER taken 7hrs to move 4 times the amount of items which were picked up for this move. Buyer beware. read more

My experience with Clutter, so far, has been mixed. On the one hand the moving crew of Joseph and Fernando were great. They showed upon time, worked efficiently, gave useful advice and were just overall friendly and pleasant. They are a credit to the operation. On the other hand my experience with customer service reps has been pretty poor. I emailed the rep who I had originally spoken to the day prior to move date and heard nothing. I called the listed number. Nothing. Apparently he was off but why were my queries not forwarded!!!!I emailed another address I found online and someone finally responded. I asked questions and uploaded photos she requested. She never got back to me. I also never received the attachment confirming all billing services or the guide that spells out what they take. So last minute discovered many items could not be moved and stored. Pretty lame. All the modern tech and apps are great but old fashioned phone calls and reliability and availability are more important. Fix this. We'll see how things go moving forward. read more
