Maple bacon, cheesecake, lemon poppy seed, and French toast

Hands down the best donuts in Stl. They may not be as "strange" as some competitors but all of their dough is handmade from scratch unlike Strange. My boyfriend and I look forward to these every weekend. Yes, you may pay $4.50 for a doughnut, but it is well worth it. They're all great!

Sweet potato (surprisingly good), chocolate sea salted Carmel and chocolate cheesecake

Best doughnuts ever! My favorite is by far the maple bacon. I wish they sold them out by my house. Every Time I go to the city I try to pick one up!

I was so hungry, I devoured everything the moment I went back home. The portions are a lot, which is great for leftovers for the next day. I feel healthy eating it, especially with an abundance of veggies included here. Flavorful as always and cravings are satisfied. The cashier is super nice and helpful. He was patient with me, because I didn't read the menu properly lol.

We got to hear about how she got started by cooking and watching her grandmother. We sampled Egusi-a West African stew full of deliciousness. FUFU was served to scoop it up with. The Beef Stew was not your average kind. It was warm and full of spices and flavor. We also had Jollof Rice and Black Eyed Peas - OMG! The taste will have you wanting more. The fried Plantains were tender and slightly sweet. We washed it all down with some Hibiscus Tea that had floral undertones and was perfectly paired with our meal. Everything I ate was wonderful! Dare I say it's the best chicken sandwich in STL…read more... The hot chicken sandwich was not only incredibly thick and juicy, but the crust was crispy without being overwhelming or too much breading. I loved the spicy sauce that was used to make it hot chicken and somehow it didn't make the sandwich soggy at all. The slaw was more of a vinegar base, so it didn't weight it down with a heavy creamy flavor. Also the pickles were heavenly and I want to eat them on EVERYTHING. Moving onto the handcut, double fried fries. They were crispy and such a delight to see on a food truck, as far too often you get sad, pre-frozen fries. These were phenomenal and we ate every single one of them! You can practically taste the quality through the photos, they're everything and more than you'd imagine. I can't wait to try more things ASAP!

The fries are what I would go back for since they were really the best part of the meal. The chicken sandwich was just okay for me. I think the flavor was lacking, but the chicken was moist and the breading was crunchy; I just wish it had a little more flavor. My husband had the Nashville hot chicken and said that it was just not as hot as he had hoped. This is a good option for a food truck and I would go back to order again in hopes that the flavor would be better next time!

The pros: -The variety of sauces were delicious -The brisket was moist and had food flavor -The Mac and cheese had fantastic flavor -The plate was served with pickles and onions, which I haven't seen since I left the south -Great value! The cons: -the pulled pork was dry -The Mac and cheese was super saucy -not a big variety What I sampled was delicious, and I'll keep up with the Southerner to try more food (I have my eye on the chicken and waffles on a stick).

Walking through the office today I caught the smell of delicious smoked goodness and instantly wanted some for myself. I can't tell you how happy I was to find that the aroma that caused me to lose track of my engineering responsibilities was located directly outside the front door to the building. This was my 2nd time to get a mouth watering BBQ sandwich from The Southerner. The folks running the truck are always more than helpful and provide a meal that's a good value proposition. Quality, quantity and price seem to be well balanced. Albeit a tad bit on the expensive side. Look to spend about $12 for a sandwich and side. The turkey, brisket and sausage are all great. The brisket is pulled not sliced or chopped. It makes for a great tasting sandwich that doesn't need much sauce at all. Although the sauce is pretty darn good they get 5 stars for not needing it.

I stopped by on a Sunday just before a rush, so I was able to get my food ordered and made promptly. I just had the spicy chicken katsu sandwich and fries, which was very good. Particularly with the sheer amount fries in the box, you could easily split it. I do want to eventually come by and try one of their desserts, but I was absolutely stuffed after my food, so I did not indulge this time. Considering the serving size, I think the price is very reasonable. It's not a huge menu, but sometimes that's just a sign that they only make what they know they can do well. Highly recommended

The only thing I expected a bit more from was the bread itself. Since it's a sandwich-focused spot, I thought it would be a little more memorable, but it definitely didn't take away from how good everything else was. Don't skip dessert either. We tried both the Choc Oreo Taiyaki and the Nutella Taiyaki (those fish-shaped waffle things), and they were the perfect sweet finish. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!
