Celebrating 25 Years at One of Our Favorite Steakhouses!…read more Last night was a very special night for my wife and me -- we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, and we decided to spend it at one of our favorite steakhouses, Firebirds. We arrived a little early to beat the dinner crowd, and just as I suspected, the restaurant wasn't very busy. We were seated immediately, and to our surprise, our waitress was Nigh (I hope I'm spelling that correctly!). She has waited on us before, and we were so happy to see her again. She is honestly one of the sweetest servers you could ask for -- friendly, super polite, attentive, and just an all-around great waitress. Since we arrived early, we were able to take advantage of their early dinner special, which offers eight different entrées to choose from. I went with the Asiago Creamy Spicy Pasta, which came with chicken, diced tomatoes, chopped green onions, and penne pasta. I also started with a BLT salad, which was delicious. And, of course, Firebirds brings fresh bread to the table, which is always a nice bonus. My wife chose the meatloaf with mushroom gravy, served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. We both agreed -- the meals were absolutely delicious! And because we were celebrating, we couldn't leave without ordering one of our absolute favorites: Big Daddy Chocolate Cake! How do I describe this cake? Imagine the most decadent, rich, chocolatey dessert you've ever had... now multiply that by 10. That's probably getting close to describing how good this cake is!
