Corn Cheese (LW)

After bookmarking this place for a while now, we finally made it down to try it. First impression, it does give a Korean pub/Mom and pop restaurant with the decor. You order at the counter, grab paper utensils, pour your own water, and choose a table. The decor is random so it does remind me of a mom and pop restaurant and it gives a homey feel. Service was friendly and food comes out relatively quick. The food was delicious. The chicken was juicy but also crunchy - even with the honey. The tteokboki was also really delicious with the cheese. It wasn't too spicy for us but still very good. The corn cheese was also cheesy and very good on a sizzling plate. The kimchi fried rice was also another fantastic choice. Definitely will come back. One of my new favorites for Korean fried chicken.

Once again, our meal and the service were exceptional. The restaurant is very clean and the owner is the man working the front. He clearly cares about his business and the food product he puts forward. He is friendly and genuinely grateful to the people that choose to eat at his business. The Cajun fries we ordered today were fantastic and all three of the chicken options we ordered were well prepared and tasty. He makes and serves some of the best kimchi I've had since I was in Korea. The place is a hit and if you enjoy Korean fried chicken, this is the place for you.

Best chicken wings in Denver, seriously. I got the spicy wings with a hot honey side and fries and it was incredible. I wanted to give the staff a hug, but they were busy. The food, staff, and cleanliness are elite.

Delicious food. We came in around 7:30 pm and there was nobody else in the restaurant on a Saturday. We had to order from a kiosk which was not my favorite considering the price of a lot of these items, but it seemed there was only one employee there so it's no big deal. $100 pre tip got us 8 different dishes, all of which we had no complaints.

I came here for a friend meet up on a Friday night. We had a group of 15 and they were able to accommodate us very well. Khang was a rockstar! He put tables together so we could all sit together and brought out waters right away. The restaurant itself is rather large and they have indoor and outdoor seating. We basically ordered all of our meals at the same time (I'm sorry!) and it came out pretty quickly! More importantly the food that came out and was delicious! I was so impressed how tasty the fired chicken was and how good the sauces were. My personal favorite was to eat the chicken with rice but I know some people loved it with fries. Highly recommend and I would be happy to come back! Overall 5/5

Soy Garlic Spring Onion chicken tenders

Picked up an order of the Soy Garlic Spring Onion chicken tenders on my way home from work and WOW! It is a quiet spot and the service is excellent. I had a short interaction with the woman working there, but she was so sweet and even packed some extra radish in my order! The tenders traveled well on my 10 minute drive home and they were absolutely delicious. Looking forward to going again to try more flavors and eat at the restaurant since it was spacious, clean and welcoming!

Service was amazing and the food was even better! We got 2 different kinds of sauces both of which were delicious. The drumsticks were huge, and the wings were very well portioned as well and the tenders were perfect! Chicken was super crispy but beware they are not kidding with their spice levels had to learn that the hard way!

Host was very nice brought a salad with a new dressing. The salad was amazing, but the chicken was absolutely the best fried chicken I have had. The drumsticks were massive and crispy and cooked perfectly. The sauce on the garlic spicy chicken was amazing it was sweet with a little kick and still crispy

It had a vineggrete dressing with cashews that was great. Then I had the Cesar wrap as my entree. It had grilled chicken which I was very happy about because I dont love when the chicken is fried. Would definitely eat here again!

I like this location of Chook very much! The one on University and Orchard had been my go-to for…read morequite some time before my first visit to this location (in Wash Park). Now I want to make this location my go-to. Its location is convenient. On north end of the charming South Pearl Street, it's an easy access from I-25. Everything is so walkable from there to other shops on the same street or even on the other side of the highway. After entering the restaurant, I noticed that there is/was a large menu on the the left wall right at the entrance so I took the time to peruse before I turned my attention to the ordering counter. And there, a young lady with a very warm smile was already standing there staring at me with a pleasant "Hi". What an attentive service that was! I am pretty familiar with their menu although I did ask her some questions to which she replied with the needed information. One of the questions I had was about one of the sauces (that they offer complimentarily for chicken meat) and it's called piri piri. As far as I can remember, she said it's tomato based with a little spiciness (it might contain some red peppers as well.) Chimichurri was simply too ordinary as that is what I always get so I decided to go out of my way to do something not so ordinary; I got to be a little adventurous. What I ended up getting me was 1/2 of dark chicken, a side of smashed cucumber slices (salad) and a side of mac and cheese. Once my food was packed and ready, a different worker (male) handed me my food. He was also very polite and cordial. I always appreciate their top-notch customer service. I was on my way to work my side hustle downtown so this meal was what I needed to consume before that job assignment. Once I got to my car, I opened my bag and immediately started my early dinner. The dark chicken meat was perfected moist. The red sauce I got gave it a nice kick to the whole enjoyment of the main. The smashed cucumber is light and refreshing with some tanginess to it. The mac and cheese (I believe) is a vegan dish (am I right) but whatever they use to make the typical mac and cheese taste is/was still there with no sacrifice. And get this, nothing (absolutely NOTHING) was oversalted. Lately, I have been encountering more and more restaurant where they season their dishes with too much salt which truly upset me. Chook's conscientious way to cooking all the dishes is what I can appreciate the most. And the quality of ingredients they use are almost guaranteed. This place is simply not for chicken or sub or salad lovers. If you want to spend a casual after 5pm time, they do serve quality beers, wines and cocktails on top of soft drinks. As much as I appreciate this restaurant, I am not sure if it is talked about amongst my foodie friends. My sincere hope is that they utilize your business as often as I do. You deserve so much appreciation and accolades from them.

The experience here is exactly what I want from Korean BBQ: lively, satisfying, and easy to settle into for a while. The cheese corn is an absolute must and easily one of the best sides on the table. The steamed egg was fluffy and comforting, and the meats were the real highlight. The pork belly was rich and well cut, the bulgogi was flavorful, and the short ribs were tender and cooked beautifully. Add a few bottles of soju and suddenly you've lost track of time in the best way. This is the kind of place you go with friends, order generously, and just enjoy the night. I'll absolutely be back, and honestly, I'm always down to join if someone invites me.

Everything was…read moresuper pricy and parking seemed a little tricky.. thankfully we visited on a late Sunday afternoon. Food for the most part was tasty and the service was decent enough. Everything is a la carte. On Sundays they were doing buy one get one draft beers and that is about the only thing that is considered a deal $9 for 2 draft beers. We weren't sure if the banchan refill were free as the menu indicated extra sides are more $$. So we didn't get anymore banchan than the ones they brought over. The pajeon was limpy and lack of caramelization... I did not try the corn cheese but I was told it was very sweet... We ordered the combo deals that's a tofu soup with a grilled meat of your choice for about $30-38 a person, depending on the meat of your choice. The meat is tasty, the bulgogi is a little bit on the sweet side... and the tofu soup... it's probably the most saddest, mediocre Korean tofu soup I've ever had, and essentially $20 a pop - definitely not worth it. The broth flavor was good, the soup literally had tofu and the meat of your choice... no veggies, no kimchi, no egg... The employees were nice but they didn't come check in on how the meal was until towards the end... we had asked for more napkins when we sat down and the napkins never showed up. Mandatory 20% tips added to a party of 5+. At least they called out that the price was with tips added. I really hope to like this place more... but looks like I'd need to trek back to Aurora for quality and better pricing.
