CM Chicken hits the spot when I am in need of some Korean fried wings. I usually get the snow Chicken but this time I got curry snow Chicken and the curry sauce that is added to it really enhances the flavor. They are located in a plaza so plenty of parking and they are open late (11pm) which is great because of lot of places in the area close early. Sit anywhere and when ready they have a bell you ring. Service was quick and they were kind. There is a lot of stuff going on on the walls but it's a chill spot for sure. read more

This was a delivery order - and it was delivered quickly, and nicely packaged (ramen broth in separate container from noodles), and the food was still hot. I also had a delicious mango lemonade with lots of fruit pieces (a little too sweet but oh well). If you are happened to be in between Chicago and Milwaukee and want to get good Korean food, I'd go here. I'm visiting Wisconsin for a short work trip, but I couldn't find any good Korean food. There are a lot of K-pop posters everywhere snacks on one side of the restaurant. Food options aren't super wide, but they got handful of appetizers, entrees with rice, friend chicken, etc. I got Kimchi Dumplings, Dakgalbi Ricebowl, Jeyook Ricebowl, Mep Snow KFC, and Kimchi. Every single dish was delicious!! Fried chicken was spicy, but not too spicy for me. They were the first to be gone, and I'm still thinking about them a day later. The ricebowls were delicious, and the portion size was quite big. I ate until I was full, but the bowl looked like I have barely touched it. The KIMCHI - Oh man, this was the best kimchi I've had in a while. They were perfectly fermented and still crispy at the same time. I could've only eaten their kimchi and plain rice and still be quite happy. Service was so good. The owner figured out I was Korean while I was ordering, and he spoke to me in Korean. He was so friendly and sweet to us, which made our visit feel extra nice. Everything was so good that my friend who I came along said she's going back again soon with her boyfriend. Wow, a last minute.....gotta find something new spot while in the area. And I see CM. I was pretty amazed by the elegant atmosphere, the pleasantness of the staff, and the delishiousness of the food. I was extremely surprised. This is definitely nothing I've ever experienced before and very happy I stopped in. The mango Boba Tea was the bomb, so I had two of them, lol. There's plenty of seating so no worries if group setting is needed. The rice bowls are huge, I couldn't finish mine. Also there wings are large. I used to frequent the CM Chicken location in Glenview quite often for lunch when I used to work around the area. Since I switched jobs, I haven't had CM much but was excited a few years ago when there was a location opening up in Vernon Hills. That location turned out to be a real disaster for me, both with the chicken and the boba, which turned me off from CM for awhile. About a week ago, I knew I was going to be up around the Waukegan area and was looking for a place to eat. I was surprised to find a CM Chicken there with some very positive reviews. I decided to give it a shot and get some takeout. I ended up ordering their tikku dak (supposed to be both grilled and fried) garlic soy wings, honey garlic wings, a mango smoothie, and their spicy Jjamppong (basically like a korean spicy seafood noodle soup). I was a little worried that with a longer commute back, I wouldn't be able to assess their food fairly since I didn't eat it fresh but was very surprised that everything held up very well! The tikku dak garlic soy wings were as advertised and had a deeper flavor than their traditional wings - don't get me wrong though, the honey garlic wings were still solid. The Jjamppong was a great hit for me, especially in that it had a nice kick to it. One of my pet peeves with restaurants advertising "spicy" is that it's usually not spicy. I can confirm that if you love spicy, then you will likely enjoy this. The mango smoothie was enjoyable and fell in line with my expectations. Sorry... but this CM doesn't stack up to the other locations I've been to (Aurora, both locations in Vernon Hills). The chicken was so meatless. When I grabbed my first wing, I thought maybe I just got unlucky. But as I continued eating, each piece was the same. Barely any meat on it. I was very surprised. I was left feeling hungry at the end, which never happens when I go to CM. Taste was still decent. We got the snow onion and spring onion. Boba was also decent for a restaurant. Quite expensive for what it is, though. Service was pretty bare-bones - we never got water, and the server never checked on us after taking our orders. There was no one else in the restaurant. I have been to this place like 5 times since my first review. Honestly I really love this place. It's worth the drive each and every time. This last visit I ordered the " Crazy Spicy Dumplings " and Spicy Pork and Beef Bulgogi. The dumplings definitely were spicy but came with a little crème sauce. Also keep in mind that if you choose to dine in do not expect over the top service it's usually just the main guy wearing many hats. I visited this location with a friend. I had the Spicy Chicken Ramen which was just ok. The ramen had about 3/4 small pieces of chicken in it and also the ingredients seemed to come from a seasoning pack. It was very underwhelming. My friend had the classic chicken sandwich which was underwhelming as well. I was very excited to try this restaurant because of the reviews I read but it left much to be desired. We ordered spicy garlic wings, soy garlic gizzards, bulgogi rice bowl, and brown sugar milk tea with tapioca pearls as takeout. The spicy garlic wings have a nice garlicky umami flavor with a hint of spice. The gizzards were so good, they didn't make it on the ride back to the hotel. They had a nice chew, crispy outside and delicious flavor. The milk tea was too sweet for my taste but the flavor was great and the pearls were the perfect texture-adding more ice would make it perfect. The bulgogi rice bowl had japchae noodles as well as cabbage and carrots in it. There's a good amount of beef bulgogi which was tender, the rice had a good amount of sauce on it and it had a delicious savory sesame soy flavor with a hint of sweet. The wait for our food was not long at all and Lee was super friendly and chatted with us sharing more about his Korean culture. Will def be back! read more

The service was poor with absolutely no follow up after our meal was delivered. We had to go to the counter to pay our bill for the poor table service.
