My coworker and I got to check out Lola Adang's Kusina. So, let me get into it! The food was very good. When we see that LAK was a small family owned business we did figure that the food was going to be good. The quality was spot on and the portion sizing was amazing. I really like the teriyaki chicken the faller was out of this world! The service was good too. Everyone was very friendly to my friend and I. The atmosphere was okay. I wish there was some kind of music playing since it was sorry silent. Overall, I would say if you want amazing food for the price Lola Adang's Kusina is the place to Check Out!

A wonderful mom and pop restaurant with generous and hearty portions. 2 recommendations: - come early - come hungry They sell out of food quickly, sometimes just after lunch, so come earlier rather than later. When you first walk in, there is no menu. Just walk up to the counter, and all of the food will be laid out buffet-style behind a glass screen. You can ask about each dish you're curious about. The workers are friendly and helpful. The dishes mostly stay the same day-to-day, with some occasional variances. I highly recommend the pancit and/or the chicken adobo. Portions are wonderfully large. It makes the prices (which are already reasonable to begin with) so worth it. An average person could definitely eat their fill and still have a decent amount leftover. There is seating inside, but it's limited. I think most patrons get takeout.

Well they just opened after St Patrick's month and I made this as a bucket list since being Filipino myself and only know 2 restaurants up here in Lake county area. So far the other food is good and authentic. The pork on a stick was just the way my dad and mom makes them in picnic or outdoor parties. The menudo was also good or ok. They missed a few ingredients to the menudo but one ingredient liver is ok but did not add to really make it authentic and raisins was not ok to add which I am glad they didn't do it but supposed to. The chicken curry dish Filipino style was also delicious. The lumpia Shanghai or Filipino egg roll was good too as they gave a 2 long sized generous amount then most family own Filipino restaurants. My friend not Filipino ordered the fried milk fish or bangus (pronounced bang-oos) which she liked. I usually eat bangus for breakfast. It is giving cafeteria style on paper plates for lunch and was a busy place during lunch because of the US Great lakes Navy base and the US Marines base here so military people and some Local Pinoy where in line too. My big disappointment why 4 out of 5 stars was how they cooked Pancit Palabok. They cooked Pancit Behon which is my least favorite Filipino noodle dish and they used Behon noodles in Palabok. Those noodles texture wise is rubbery which belongs in Behon and not in Palabok. Palabok noodles are transparent, little thicker and slippery in texture. They also forgot to add Shrimp in the Pancit which was also disappointing. Also they only sell it as a party tray and could not cook this daily which I am glad they didn't because it was somewhat not ok. I can't say th pancit palabok was bad because the other ingredients tasted correct to use accept no shrimp and wrong noodles they used. The party tray was $40 and was more than enough for 2 people. Otherwise avoid ordering Pancit Palabok from here. Everything else was genuine. The leche flan or Filipino version of flan or custard was ok. They missed a few ingredients too using coconut gel in the bottom. I would come back for some of the other dishes they serve for lunch time. Best to come there 10 minutes early before they open because it gets busy. Also you can dine in the restaurant unlike their rival Filipino restaurant Pampanga Express.

2 entree meal. Adobo chicken and chicken noodles. Okra soup. Enjoyed it very much!

The gentleman running the restaurant was very generous, kind and patient. He offered me a free soup and loaded the plate with rice. Family and I shared a plate and he was accommodating and made sure we didn't run out of rice. We ordered the 2 entrees with rice for only $6.50. Amazing spring rolls for only $1/ each. - chicken noodles - adobo chicken Also... had a yummy okra soup. Try it! This is a must try.

Great homemade Filipino food. The dining area is a little tight, besides that it's great and they are very generous with the portions.

Customer service was very good, the guy behind the counter saw us looking at the menu and asked if we'd like to hear about the specials... and they checked on us although at the table even though it felt more like a self serve style diner. Came on a Thursday after lunch and it wasn't too busy. Ordered the Tocilog - which is sweet pork with a side of garlic fried rice, and an egg cooked any way you like. Also came with a side of noodles (pancit). Since I was here, decided to order some calamansi wings to go. And of course an ube milk tea. I really enjoyed my meal. The Tocino was a little different from what I'm used to. I'm used to a slab of pork pan fried with the fat fried to a slight crunch lol. I'm also used to tocino being red in color. I guess the tocino here is a little more leaner and no artificial colors - which works for me as I'm kinda allergic to red dye. But it tasted good, very flavorful. Loved the garlic rice as well. Pancit noodles were okay - could have used a little more seasoning but I could dig it Calamansi wings were low key fire. The crisp of the wings were perfection and the meat was not tough - still nice and juicy. I would get these again. They did have other flavors available that I need to come and try as well such as adobo and salt & pepper. Servers were nice and food came out pretty fast.

I'm nervous about this review, because I'm pretty confident I'm not the right person to write this…read more Let me start by stating up front that I am not now, nor have I ever been, Filipino. This is the first and only Filipino restaurant I've ever eaten at, so I don't claim to have a great frame of reference. Let me also add that I've eaten here five or six times, and to this day I have no idea what I've ordered. But it's soooo good. Everything I've ever had from Salamat Po has been amazing. So I want to speak to people like me who don't know Filipino cuisine- get in there and try it, you'll be glad you did. I generally go there for lunch, which begins with me standing patiently behind several people who clearly know what it is they're ordering, and they're ordering lots of it. While I'm waiting, I stare at everything in the glass case, and usually something new slides out of the kitchen. I might be wrong about this, but I think the food has been different every time I've been there. When I get to the counter, the server always helpfully tells me the name of whatever dish I'm pointing at, but I'm fairly hopeless when it comes to learning these things. The gentleman today was happy to let me sample anything I wanted, but by the time I got up there my heart was already set on something- a beef stew that wound up tasting as good as it looked, tender and flavorful, in an absolutely perfect broth. I also picked up some sort of fried, salted cinnamon plantain dessert that I'll be dreaming about for the next few nights. I found the portion size to be excellent, with a healthy helping of stew on a bed of rice- more than enough to fill me up for lunch and still have a few bites to share with a co-worker. There are still some things I'm looking forward to trying there- the dessert case has some glorious-looking puddings I need to get next time (unless they have those plantain desserts again), and there's a fish entree I've seen a few times that's been calling my name. Just a note for my fellow eaters new to Filipino food- bring your sense of adventure and an open mind. You'll find some flavors, textures and- let's be honest- some parts you're not used to. Try a few samples, and I'm sure you'll find a new favorite.

My goodness, everything was so good! The crispy pata has an incredibly crispy skin, with soft, tender, and flavorful pork meat inside. We were told by the owner, Ryan, that they slow cook the meat in its own juices for 6 hours prior to deep frying it. The result is nothing short of one of the best interpretations of this favorite Filipino dish. Definitely my favorite! The lumpia is top-notch -- crispy, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned. The siomai is garlicky and delicious as well. All of this for just $32. The price is unbelievable considering the quality of food they are serving. Everything was fresh and served hot from the kitchen, unlike the typical Filipino "turo-turo" style restaurant. They also have combo meals for $12.99 all day. I have to try their lechon belly and crispy kare-kare next time. This place is truly a hidden gem! You have to try it, and you will not be disappointed. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family. Thanks to the owner, Ryan. I think you have a winner here!

I got kung pao beef and a couple of other things. The "beef" in the kung pao was so fatty and chewy I could literally not eat it. I kept trying, but it was EVERY PIECE in the container. A total loss. I called to let the restaurant know. The woman who took the call assured me my card would be credited the amount of the item. This was outright FRAUD, as my card was never credited for this food I could not eat. She also said the manager would call me back, which also did not happen. Bad enough the food was inedible, but blatantly lying to me was way over the line. The rest of the items were on the bland side, and I'm not sure if I would have come back. But after what happened, I'm avoiding this place like the plague. I cannot afford to literally throw my money in the garbage.
