My only advice would be to stay away from these rip off artists. You would be better off pushing your bike to Anchorage for service. I got a flat on my 2012 Honda Goldwing rear tire and had it towed to their shop on a Monday when they were closed. I showed up first thing the next morning for them to look at it and naturally they did not have a tire for the bike. I called around and found one in Anchorage. They can get parts for their BMW's out of Anchorage the same day but would NOT share with me who the carrier was that delivered from Anchorage to Fairbanks the same day (via air to the airport right next to their dealership). I had to rent a car and drive to Anchorage to get the tire, on the trip back I called and let them know that I had the tire and asked that they put the bike on the rack and remove the wheel ad the end of day so that when I arrived at 7:30 the next morning they could get the new tire on and I could be on my way, they said they would. BTW theses bandits quoted 2.3 hours to install the new rear tire when any other reputable Honda dealer charges between 1.2 and 1.4 hours. When I arrived the next morning with the new tire the bike was still on the floor with the flat tire. The techs arrived between 7:30 and 8:00 and visited and had coffee for 15 minutes before getting started. While my bike still sat on the floor I returned the rental car to the airport and returned about 35 minutes later. At that point the bike was on the rack and the rear wheel was off, so it probably only took about 25 minutes to get that part of the job done. Since they were charging me for 2.3 hours of work they let the wheel sit beside the bike for about 45 minutes before they let some rookie put it on the tire machine and struggle with it for 30 minutes before someone that knew how to use it came along and showed him hoe to get the old tire off and the new tire on. Then they let it sit again for another 30 minutes before putting it back on the bike. Finally they test rode it and gave me the keys and a bill for $380. So, almost 4 hours after they were supposed to start work on the bike I was back on the road. My brother and a friend had 3 tires replaced on their Goldwing's in Nanaimo, BC at the start of our trip and the total labor for them was $306 Canadian and the job was done in less than 90 minutes. I can understand the higher labor rate in Fairbanks but to double the time required to do a simple job (and then let the bike sit idle to use up that time) Is simply a ripoff. I got seriously screwed by these guys. So in summation, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.

Price comparable to lower 48. A couple weeks later during my visit I had issues with my seat post and also lost a screw attaching my rear fender - the AlCan Hwy takes a toll. They Took the bike without calling ahead (I planned on dropping it off) and they had everything ready within a 30 minute wait (had to get a new seat post as the issue couldn't be fixed). Really super helpful and knowledgeable crew of young men.

Time for a change and the answer was Goldstream Sports here in Fairbanks. I wanted to have my feet evaluated, since my feet and running everywhere. Been there, done that - sort of thing. For me, it is always nice to get into a nice pair of training shoes, especially when the current pair is almost on its last legs and you know that it's been with you on your travels to run marathons and ultra distance events. I was suggested to come to this place, since I was in the market for new shoes. I needed expert advice on finding that new pair of shoes, as over the years of running, my feet tended to get wicked and just plain weird after so many miles and smiles across the country and even overseas. I found that Goldstream Sports had that person to help me with that specific task and she did it well. I arrived here on a Thursday afternoon, after a day of driving and shopping, I figured why not do this before heading back to my friend's home for dinner. The beauty of this experience is that I got to get tested on their customized treadmill, so they know exactly how I walk and run. It's nice to get evaluated for real and not just get any ol shoe to meet your budget. Being a runner for life needs specific criteria and having a great fitting shoe to train and race in is an important thing! I'm grateful that my friend had suggested this store to me and thankful for the service that I received in this store. Runners want comfort on their training runs and that elusive PR. Having comfortable shoes to do all the miles is one less thing to worry about! Happiness is all about running long and feel great about it. Having functional shoes that feel good and wears well is a good thing. Goldstream Sports can help you solve your running shoe needs, although you will need to come to Fairbanks, Alaska for a proper evaluation. The overall experience here at Goldstream Sports is as good as it can get. I shared my concerns to the expert shoe lady and the feedback helped me get into a specific shoe that was recommended by the treadmill gait analysis. They accept major credit cards, so that's always a good thing. They also sell running accessories and running fuel, as well as sell other gear for other active lifestyles. They also sell tri bikes and regular mountain bikes too, but I was here for the running shoes. The store itself sat in a residential area, somewhat out of the way from the city of Fairbanks, but it was good to come here to get things done. The parking situation here is very generous, plenty of parking for everyone who wants to start a running journey or to buy new trainers, since their old ones are getting old. Or for anyone who wants to get into the cycling / triathlon life, so come here too. Not sure if public transportation comes through the area, but best bet is to come here and see if you want to entertain running as your sport of choice. Uber/Lyft are great choices too. I was here for about 45 minutes in total, trying on a few pairs after getting evaluated. I settled on a pair, which was nice and kind of lightweight. The store itself was large enough that it stored a lot of merchandise, but intimate enough to get good service for what you need. The service itself was good. Alaska has no sales tax too, so it was nice not to pay extra for that, although I'm sure the prices are inflated anyway to make up for such taxes to the state government, among other things. The prices here can be expensive, but I think of it like an investment in my health and well being. After countless pairs of shoes bought over the course of 10 years and many many marathons events, it's always comes down to comfort and the proper fitting of the shoe to your feet. While it may be just another running store, consider it an investment that will help you take care of your health. It's always good to come here and check things out for yourself. Never know if you have that desire and passion to take that next step to dive into an exercise program or run your first half marathon or marathon. Sky's the limit! Never know what you can do when you try. If you are in the area and want running shoes - or even check out their bikes, come on by! I'm sure they would love to see you. I'm happy with my purchase and hope you will too. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. 4.0 stars for the prices, especially without AK sales tax of any kind. 5.0 stars for the expert service and shoe recommendations. The store itself is clean and very spacious. Not sure if they have WiFi or not, but check em out! Support local! A-
