This has been a long time over due review. This is a family run business and I always like to support those establishments if I can. I've been coming here for about 8-9 years I believe. I take all my vehicles here to get smog and referred several friends and family. Chuck is accommodating, knowledgeable and fair in his prices. I started going to CMC Smog due to some other "a$$HOLE once upon a time that tried to screw me and thought he would play games." I don't play games when I'm paying for a service and you're giving me some BS excuses why you are intentionally making it fail. I don't have time for that sh!t especially when you tell me to come back several times. Beware of this "a$$HOLE" who's establishment is on Palm / Lambert. Chuck will take very good care of you. This place is professional, fast, and reasonably priced. I have a 2007 Jeep and I was in and out in about 10 minutes. I've been going here for my last 4 smog checks. The experience has been consistently high quality. Very strange, came here because of all the high reviews and coupon on their site. Don't be fooled like me. Got here around noon. Front of shop faces Lambert, but the testing is in the back, so I drove to the back. I was so happy since there were no other customers. Yay, no wait time. No such luck. Tech: how did you find us? Me: internet Tech: What car ? Me: boxster Tech: Can't do it for that price! Me: why not? Tech: got to open the back bla bla bla Me: so how much? Tech: go somewhere else. Me: so you don't do it? No answer. Me: I guess I go somewhere else. Tech mumbled something. Me: what did you say? Tech: what don't you understand? (In a impatient/aho kind of way.) Why the low rating? No apology for bait and switch coupon on webpage. Did not answer to my questions. Poor attitude. All this when no other customer is around. Is this a case of a lazy tech when the owner is not around? The wife went here for her car and said the staff was friendly and helpful. My car's registration is now due, so I go here as well. Very glad that I did. Clean shop, very quick and professional service, and priced right. As an added bonus, I told the owner that we were trying to figure out what to do with an old unused car (junker) with an expiring registration that couldn't pass the test, and he told me about a program where if your vehicle does not pass, you can turn it in for money. Not sure how it all works, but at least he took the time to add an additional option to explore. read more

Pretty shady service, Make sure you ask alot of questions before you give him money, apparently if you unplug your cars battery you need to put some miles on it before you go get it tested. Unfortunately being unfimliliar with cars I did not know that and they failed to mention anything before we proceeded with the service and payment. Now I'm out 30 bucks and I have to pay to get my car smogged again, so much for supporting small business! Never again! read more

I came in with my check engine light and they should have told me then that it was not going to pass. They also should have told me they do not do free retest and tried to tell me places that places that do are scams. While I was waiting they asked me if I knew anyone who needed Medicare and dental insurance. They don't do repairs so why would I come back? Go to JJ Star complete auto repair. Great guys! read more

Pro: The tech is very fast and nobody was there (don't know if they're always empty) so I was in and out quickly Con: The woman running the front desk lacks personality. I don't like how there were extra fees added onto the coupon price that were not listed on the coupon. So it turned out being more than I had anticipated. I should have gone with someone advertising, "no hidden fees." I also didn't appreciate how they won't accept checks and they charge to use a credit card (which is actually against all credit card policies). It makes me feel like they are just wanting a lot of under the table CASH to not have to claim taxes on. Let's face it, we all hate paying taxes, but why should I have to pay taxes on my income when someone else is practically forcing customers to either pay cash or pay extra to likely avoid taxes. read more

Seriously for someone on a tight schedule, I never have time to do anything. I had a airbag light on in my car on, and I was scared it would not pass the test. I sent them an email, thinking it may take days until I get a reply, but they replied ASAP. Told me to bring it right in, that they only test the engine. So I went the next day, and they took me right in, filled out simple questions, and they took my car right in. (2000 and above cars can be taken in asap) Literally took 10 minutes! Got my paper work, and they were super nice the whole time, unlike other stations! I even god 10$ off because of using Yelp to find them. Seriously come here! read more
