My husband loves these guys. They're so thorough and really give advice and recommendations to help you--not just to make the most money off of you. We recently had to send our manual car in because of some starting issues. They listened to some other problems my husband was noticing and let him know what else they could look at while they were down there. If it was something they could do easily, it would save them time from having to take the part out again and fix it later, then they would be able to offer a discount on the bundled repairs. If the issue was something that required them to be in a different part of the car, then they recommended we wait because it would cost more for the labor of looking/disassembling/reassembling. Totally reasonable! While they were fixing the car, they noticed something with the clutch that was making it wear faster. They provided a recommendation that would improve the engagement plus allow it to last longer. Anyway, the details are just to prove that they're great to work with. I came in primarily to get my Timing Belt replaced as McGrath Acura was asking for $2200. They did it for ~$1500. I agreed to do a few other smaller repairs for much cheaper than McGrath was asking for. They were very nice and even showed me what they fixed. They did take 3 days but I wasn't in a hurry. I got an estimate for front and rear brakes and battery from the Chevy dealer where l received my oil change, wanted another estimate so l brought it to Stephens. Ended up difference between was about 100 dollars less than dealer however l dropped my car off at 845am and got it back at 4pm. I was told it would be a few hours. On the way to work my alternator went out near Stephens so just pulled in the lot and left them my car. Was diagnosed with a bad alternator and another part that works with the alternator( forgot what it is) but less than a year ago I had replaced the alternator which was still under warranty but the place was about thirty miles away but thanks to Stephens great customer service they got in touch with the other shop, requested some paperwork, communicated the issue with part part manufacturer and they were able to do the work under warranty saving me more lots of $. If you go anywhere else to get work done on your car, you're dumb. I dropped off my VW there to get some work done on the car for and to see what is going on with the car before the weather turns. Right from when I walked into the shop I was greeted with a smile from the young man behind the counter named Chris. He walked me through what they would do for me, and what they suggested for the car before I left it there. Before I left the owner was there as well by the name of Joe. He also had a big smile on his face and just made me feel very good about leaving the car in their hands. They said it would be a hr or so and they would give me a call. Sure enough the hour goes by and I get a call from Chris. They walked me through what they found, what could be done and what needed to be done with the car. They never made me feel that I had to do everything, but just really wanted to make sure that I understood what and why these things needed to be done. At the end of that short conversation I had them do the main things like the oil change, replace the battery, and all the lights for the breaks, head lights and turn signals. This is where they really went above and beyond for me. I have had a issue with the driver side control panel since I bought the car. This has always been more inconvenient then a problem for myself, since the window has never been able to go down. They told me what they thought it would be, but they would not know unless they opened the panel up and looked into this. After they got into this and looked at how to solve the issue and gave me their opinion I decided not to do this part. But what was really the thing that stood out to me was that they really walked me through every option and made sense of this. That shows me that the owner has really taught his team to take care of the client first and walk them through so they understand the importance of customer service. This shop used to be decent, honest and friendly. My last few experiences with them have been pretty bad. They are very pushy to get unnecessary maintenance costs on the service order with bad tactics. Sometimes it's deceiving their cost is below dealer's shop. Moreover, they constantly schedule good technicians to to work on more lucrative Comcast cars instead of non-corporate customers. I'd avoid them. They will also let me know if something doesn't need to be serviced when I though it might need attention. When I brought an old vehicle in for servicing, Joe inspected the vehicle and explained everything that needed to be done to make the vehicle run and safe to put back on the road. Exceeded my expectations. It is often difficult to find a good, honest, quality repair shop that you feel comfortable taking your care to. With the cost of labor and the complexities of cars nowadays, it can quickly add up when the car goes in. I like the approach at this shop as they perform a comprehensive inspection of the vehicle and send you the report via phone or computer including pictures of the failed or bad component. My suburban had a coolant leak, and they sent the picture showing the small crack in the radiator and provided the estimate for the repair. Just took my 2002 blazer into Stephens automotive because my husband noticed oil on our garage floor and we thought the worst. We were going to have to get a new car because this was going to get expensive... We have been taking our 2 cars to Stephens automotive for years now. So I called and got it in and got a call that afternoon with the quote. Turns out it was a minor repair and we got that and a few other things I wanted them to fix done for less than $300.00! My husband and I were already looking at new cars so this was music to our ears! Going to Stephens automotive saved us $25,000.00 this visit at least... I took both my cars in to them different occasions with different issues. Strangely enough both cars developed the same completely different symptom with in a month of taking it in to them. If I could give a negative review I would. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!! A few months ago I brought my truck in for a simple plastic clip for my door handle, pretty simple fix right?? They broke my door cover & then told me they would fix it for more money.... They broke it & they wanted me to pay to fix it. The best part is I told them to leave it alone I'm taking it someplace else; they still ordered the parts & called me when the parts were in.
