I would give CMX a solid 3 stars all because for their value on Tuesdays & their dinner special (sandwich and appetizer for $18) you can't get a better deal. However, there are some spotlights in some seats that can be a nuisance & some patrons leave them on. Not sure if the serving crew or ushers would say anything to them but they should do a quick sweep when the movie starts. Some of our food took a bit to come out but their Chicken Sandwich was delicious and so was their Pink Flower cocktail (albeit a bit pricey but good). Went to the cinema last night and it was quite disappointing, honestly the lack of staff who takes care of the place is unbelievable, even though the facilities are amazing, the restrooms even have screens on the faucet, but they are outrageously dirty, I saw toilet paper on the floor when I got there, and I saw the same toilet paper when I went again before I left (after 3 hours ), HOW COME THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE ONE PERSON TO TAKE CARE OF IT??. My boyfriend and I went to see Dune 2 yesterday at CMX brickell (auditorium 6 to be exact seats C3 and C4). The screen had 4 cuts/slashes on it which caused 4 Little bright squares around each slash. I could not, for the life of me, get over it. My eyes would naturally go to the slashes and it made it annoying while trying to watch the movie. Then the head rest of the seat my boyfriend was seating looked gross and worn out. The seats are black and the headrest looked beat and gray. He hesitated resting his head on that filth. I am not impressed at all. Also on the way out, we used the restrooms. No soap in the ladies restroom but 1 sink. My boyfriend said there was no paper in the men's. My first experience at a dine in cinema..and I was impressed.. Located inside the super sleek Brickell City centre, this cinema is super clean. The staff were all very friendly The lounge area looks really smart with a central spiral staircase inside, comfy seats and huge TV screens. I watched Pet 2 in cinema room no 10, which was very comfortable. The soft seats recline all the way back and each seat had a tray for food if ordered, and a light if required. OMG! How amazing it was to go back to the movies and this place is nothing short of fabulous. Because of COVID-19 it's only running at 40% capacity. However when we went in it was probably about 5% capacity. Not many people are going to the movies, which was fine with us. Good and service was great. Seeing a movie was awesome. read more

I've had much better experiences at dollar movie theaters. For starters, it was pretty hot inside. I usually anticipate feeling a little chilly in movie theaters, however this was the exact a opposite. It was uncomfortably warm inside. Got there in time to put in an order of food and drinks. The food got out pretty quickly which I enjoyed. The food itself was okay. However what I had a problem with was the drinks arrived 30 minutes after my food. Usually wouldn't bug me much, but I also ordered water. So the combination of a hot theater along with food with nothing to drink made for a terrible experience. Lastly the service could be better. Midway through the film a waiter came around each person to ask if they received everything they ordered. This would seem courteous if it wasn't for the fact he was so loud. We hadn't been here in a few years and decided to come here for dinner while seeing a movie. One oddity is that, when we tried to book tickets for our desired movie and show time on the CMX website, it said no more seats were available. However, when I went to Fandango, it showed 6 seats still available so I booked there. It should be noted that the first time we came here back in 2017, movie tickets were about $21 each. It seems they may have changed their business model a bit in an effort to attract more patrons because we recently came here for the 8:30 PM showing on a Thursday night to see a movie that had just been released, and we paid about $23 for both our tickets combined on Fandango (tickets were just under $8 each and the processing fee was another $8). We arrived about 5 minutes early, were given menus in the lobby while I scanned the QR code from Fandango to print our tickets, and we made our way upstairs to the cinema. As we were having a look at the menu, the staff were there to take our orders. They explained that service would end at 9 for our 8:30 movie, so we decided to order everything at once. For starters we each ordered a cocktail, I a mojito and my husband a margarita, and we requested the burrata cheese to share. For our main courses, we each ordered an espresso hangar steak. We also requested a bottle of wine. The server read everything back to us, which was appreciated. The burrata appetizer was brought first. We'd asked for an extra plate and cutlery so we could share it, but those never came so I ate 1/2 the dish and then passed everything to my husband so he could have the remainder. It was good with plenty of arugula and a handful of large, soft croutons. Our drinks were both good, but not great; I wouldn't order the mojito again. Both our steaks were very good, cooked properly, and came with sliced, baked sweet potatoes. The wine was also fine for the pricepoint. The total bill came to $215.05 for all we ate and drank, including tax and automatic 18.5% gratuity. It should be stated that, to their credit, the gratuity is spelled out in 3 different places on the bill, including a bold, highlighted box that clearly states gratuity is already included. The seats were comfortable enough, but they've replaced them since the last time we were here and the new ones don't have USB outlets in them for charging phones and electronics. I also don't believe these seats recline as far as the older ones and they also no longer offer complimentary popcorn when one is first seated. Also, the little tables that swing in front of you for dining are a bit awkward to eat from as they are positioned too high, so you must almost reach up and out in order to dine. I had not been to this theater before but it came up in my search for movie tickets. The venue itself is pretty impressive. There is a bar right upfront where you can order food and enjoy a game. The theaters are nice as well with desk lights at each seat and lighted seat numbers so you can find your seat in the dark. Where things weren't so great...like other businesses rhey seem to be having some supply chain issues in that they were out or running short on multiple menu items. I paid $5 for ginger ale. Just prior to the show starting, things seem to be hectic. The pre-show reel didn't start running on time. One of the employees had to ask mtiple times over radio for them to bring the 3D glasses. Also, for a dine-in theater, I was surprised that essentially you need to order everything upfront for the most part, or at least by the 30-min of the movie. Beyond that, you need to leave the theater and go to the bar to order food. On the way out, I passes by the women's restroom and again, while it was nice, it needed a lot of attention. The theatre was very hot. You aren't greeted by anyone when you come in. I guess the hostess standing there is just there for the sports bar. There's some kiosks to print/buy your tickets but they all didn't work. Since there's no one around you have to look for your theatre. No one was there to take our order in theatre. The call buttons didn't work. Go back downstairs to the hostess who shared she would send someone over. When got back to the theatre there was a server who said he would be right with us. He told us he had brought a few menus and we could grab one. Not sure why they don't just have an option to order online and pay from phone option. It took awhile but he came to us with a dry attitude. He tells us the total and we pay. He then tells us he's giving us the printed copy only for me to realize he put a 20% gratuity tip without even having the decency to let us know. What really pissed me off is I asked for water and never received it but you feel entitled to add a tip and not even do a follow up. Again no call buttons work and I don't think it's right to have to get up from the movie to do a job they are supposed to do. What happened to the days people earned their tips. The lemon drop drinks were disgustingly sweet and no vodka was tasted. So last time i went to cmx was 1/22/22 for the packers vs 49ers game this was on a Saturday. The service was terrible. We were 4 people, we ordered drinks at 8:10 pm and we received them at 8:45 pm , the food was also bad, the fried shrimp and fried chicken tasted burnt. The tater tots were not eatable, we sent them back and they came worse the second time. In conclusion ended up paying for everything and didn't eat any of it. High end theater with comfortable recliners, in-seat dining, and clean restrooms. The food is restaurant quality and therefore much better than you would find at other theaters. Tickets are pricy but you can't really expect cheaper at brickell city center. They have a lounge area in their main lobby with several big tv screens- usually playing all kinds of different sports games at once. I read an article saying that this theater was the new "VIP Cinema Experience" so I had to give it a try. It was s little difficult getting into the theater because I chose a movie that started at 10:30pm when the rest of the mall is already closed, so if I could give a tip it would be to enter by Saks there's an elevator there and the theater is on level 4. Walking in the theater there was 2 red carpets rolled out but it was to the side nobody was using those doors to go in. As soon as I walked in I noticed a big open space to the right which was a bar and seating area which was nice, and a spiral staircase in front and to the left, there were kiosks to pay for your movie by card or you could go to the desk and someone could help you to purchase tickets. If I could give another tip it would be to purchase your tickets before you get there. I don't know if it was because it was a weekend night or that it was a new theater but the movies left to choose from at that time were sold out or had limited seating area in the front row of the theater (which nobody wants). Preorder! I ended up watching Girls Trip, which was pretty funny. Everyone that worked there was very attentive and polite which was refreshing. The theater itself was pretty, open, had a modern feel to it. The seats reclined all the way back and had a pillow on them so it was very comfortable. There is also someone who goes around offering you popcorn for free because it's included in your ticket price. I would've suggested that they offered blankets like iPic but that day the AC kept going on and off so it was quite warm. Even though that part wasn't such a good experience, I understand things happen and wouldn't let that make me not return. Everyone gets a menu with cocktails and food, I was actually impressed with the quality of options. We ordered a sangria, cocktail, pizza and chicken tenders all were very good it was nothing like your average movie theater food. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained to us how our chairs and lamp as well as USB port worked (bonus points for charging). Im glad to say that CMX Cinemas in Brickell has delivered on my expectations of what a "Dine-In" experience is. Our waiter was swift, responsive and transparent. What I mean by transparent is letting us know ahead of time that there is 18% gratuity fee included into our bill. In the past, not sure why; a lot of waiters are afraid to mention it. The food was great! I thoroughly enjoyed my margarita pizza with truffle fries. The pizza was fresh, cheesy but not too cheesy. Fries were delicious! It alowed more than enough time to order food and drinks. The seats were comfortable and updated. They are made from a faux leaTher mAteral. They were clean and East to use. Men's room was clean but I heard that the women's rooms had a door missing on a stall. The ordeering was a little unorganized. Seems that the wait staff doesn't have an assigned area and they just kind of wait on people as they arrive. After I ordered drinks I had to flag down a different waiter to get my food order. Be aware that they automatically charge a 18.5 gratuity. Over all it's a little pricey even for a premium theatre. For two people including tickets food and drinks ended up being around 140. Food and drinks both arrived before the movie began. We just ordered appetizers so I recon men's getTing something simple. I would have given it a 5 start review if it wasn't for the confusion on how to order and the fact they we never got utensils. I would come back and it is a decent place to see a movie. read more

This was first, and last time to this theater. I only went here because it's a halfway point to meet my son. Once we went inside the one cashier was busy on the phone, so we went to the machine to buy our tickets. We were unpleasantly surprised to find that each ticket was $27!! For a matinee!!! So, after spending $55 to get into the movie, no one was there to take our tickets. We go to our seats at the back of the theater. We immediately realized that this theater has a horrible sound system! We can hear the background noise, music, etc, but not what the actors are saying! Mind you, we went to see Avengers- End Game! I asked my son if he wanted to leave and we could go see it somewhere else another time. He didn't want to leave, so he asked a waiter if they could turn up the volume. This didn't help. The only thing that would have helped is if we had gone up closer to the screen. It was like a sound system from the 1970's! Then we try to order drinks, since we had just had lunch. I get a glass of Malbec wine, my son gets a beer and a bottle of water. They tell us our bill is $63!!! They had charged us for a pitcher of beer for my son! So we have to wait on a refund for that amount. He had asked for the seasonal beer and they came back and said they didn't have it. So he ordered another. We got a small popcorn halfway through the movie. Altogether our popcorn and drinks came to $45! Also, there were no paper towels or a hand dryer in the restroom closest to the theater. Luckily they validate parking! Parking would have been $24! The guy was nice enough to let us validate it several times! After validating it 4 times, I still had to pay $12 for parking!
