The ambiance was loud inside during Memorial Day weekend and smelled of weed on the outside, with dirty tables. Wow, this place was packed and loud with a big-time party vibe. It's in walking distance of the Hyatt Brickell where we were staying at. We were a large party, so we were seated towards the back of the restaurant which helped with the sound. But also, because of our location, service was slow, but isn't that typical of Miami restaurants? My favorite item was their Fusion Old Fashioned. This was so good. It had Toki Japanese whisky and Knob Creek rye whiskey. I drank several of them during dinner. For food, the Chicken Madeira Rigatoni was just okay. There wasn't many chicken it but I did enjoy the flavor of the dish. We did enjoy their poutine- fries were hot and crispy and the Tuna Sushi Stack. Unfortunately, my experience at this Moxies location on July 14 was ruined by one employee's poor customer service. My friend and I called the restaurant twice before arriving because we knew it was close to closing time. We were assured that as long as we arrived before midnight, we would still be served. We arrived at 11:30 p.m., ready to order immediately. Following the hostess's directions to order from the bar versus waiting to be seated. From the moment we approached the bar, the bartender, Ivan A., was dismissive and unwelcoming. He never introduced himself or greeted us. Instead, he repeatedly reminded us that the kitchen was closing, despite us explaining that we understood and were ready to place our order right away. After telling us he wouldn't serve us unless we were seated, my friend sat down immediately in the chair she was standing in front of ; another customer overhearing even offered his chair so I could be seated too. We instead placed our order for two salads to go. After a few moments my friend asked to add a breadstick, so Ivan even modified the order by adding a breadstick, giving us every reason to believe our food was being prepared. After waiting more than 15 minutes, I asked for an update. That's when Ivan casually informed me that he had cancelled our order without ever telling us. There was no apology, no explanation, and no attempt to communicate with us. Had I not asked, we likely would have continued waiting for food that was never coming. Thankfully, the manager, Thomas Rundell, handled the situation professionally and apologized. However, his professionalism could not undo the poor experience created by Ivan's attitude and lack of basic customer service. As a person and regular Moxies customer, I expect to be treated with courtesy and respect. That had been the standard prior to this visit. If the kitchen was unable to fulfill our order, all Ivan had to do was communicate that. But that was not the case because once management was informed of the matter the salads were in our hands in less than 10 minutes.Instead, he chose to cancel it without saying a word. Hospitality starts with communication and respect. Unfortunately, neither was demonstrated during our interaction with Ivan. I sincerely hope Moxies addresses this situation so future guests don't experience the same treatment. read more

We had several excellent appetizers, drinks and delicious entrees. There was an amazing assortment of drinks and food choices on the menu. However, I wanted a Mezcal Mule which was not on the menu. Our amazing waitress, Astrid, said that it was no problem. My perfect drink arrived. She made sure that the drinks and food keep flowing. Her timing was always perfect when checking on us. Started off a lil rocky because I sat at the bar ordered ONLY food and the waitress made me pay up front! I didn't voice my concerns with her just asked for a manager right away. He explained normally it wouldn't be like that and he can sense my embarrassment yet I guess they have been having people leaving without paying their bill. I explained to him still it was not an experience I enjoyed and felt insulted. Other than that he apologized the waitress did as well and to sweeten the deal offered me a free drink plus dessert.
