The fresh rolls were very good. A little smaller than usual, but for the price, they were well worth it. Fried spring rolls were delicious, again served very hot. The service was excellent and fast and our waitress was super sweet and nice. Not a gripe, but I just wish they had more variety of seasonings for the pho. Let me tell you about this little hidden gem. We were search for a Vietnamese spot in Myrtle beach and man did we hit gold with this spot. It's a little smaller restaurant with one person running the front. We weren't sure if we want to try at first as the interior was date. But when we ordered the Pho man it instantly changed our mind. There are a few Vietnamese restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area and most are fairly similar. I gave it 4 stars but it's more like 3-1/2 stars. Their fried were fantastic but their pho fell a little short. The broth was good but the meat was pretty skimpy and in the case of the tripe, which was supposed to be in there, it was non existent. Excellent pho. Best of the best. It's clear, super flavorful and balanced. Restaurant was clean and service was prompt and courteous. This was our first pho experience in the grand strand and also in a few years. I've been trying to get my wife to like it again. This place did the trick. I should have taken pictures but after the first sip, it wasn't long before the bowl was empty. Even my wife finished hers, which is really saying something. I was very skeptical of trying pho in the area. Saigon Cafe was recommended by a local who happens to be Vietnamese and knows the owner of Saigon Cafe. Their menu is very limited; probably, the smallest menu I've seen at any Vietnamese restaurant. To me, this had to mean that the pho/broth should be good if they can focus on preparing a limited number of items each day. I'm happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised! The broth was clear and had that light and hearty beef flavor I was looking for. I looked at their older menus and saw they used to serve Bun Bo Hue. I wish they kept that because you can't find that anywhere in Myrtle. Asian food and let along good Asian food is hard to come by in this town, but at least you can find some decent pho here in Saigon Cafe. read more

Four years ago, I recall there being only one pho restaurant in the area closer to the beach. Now in 2020, there are several newer Viet restaurants in the area and we happened upon Saigon Cafe after we arrived at the airport and were starving for any kind of food. The restaurant is a little grungy and the decor is very plain. The menu isn't huge, but has the basic dishes. I usually measure a good Viet restaurant by its pho broth and pork chops. The pho broth has a good, rich flavor. The pork chop was a little tough. The prices here are very reasonable. My son got the bun with spring rolls. The fish sauce that they use clearly has some sambal oelek mixed in. It make for a nice flavor. I usually ask for it on the side (instead of Sriracha as my hot sauce), but it adds a nice touch. read more

If the pho looks like crap, that means the cook does not know how to cook it. If the presentation is good, the pho will probably be good. The pho images looked correct. I had the pho, and it was good. No issues. The place could use some work, but I was here only for the PHO. I recommend this PHO place if you are in SC near Myrtle Beach. Decided to try this for a quick lunch, and it was pretty good, but we've had better Vietnamese food. The prices were fair. I was a little disappointed that my lunch came out quite a few minutes earlier than the others I was having lunch with. The fried rice was pretty plain and there was not a whole lot of flavor to the curry dish. The Thai tea was delicious. The server had a Ruby Tuesday's shirt on which was a little odd, and the bathroom was not the cleanest and was out of toilet paper. After Google searching a few different restaurants, we decided to give this one a try...and we were not disappointed. Food was on point! Our server was also super friendly and accommodating. I had seen the sign from 10th Ave/Joe White for a Thai restaurant. Went into the strip mall and realized it is now Vietnamese. I've had lunch there twice. Both times there was a single waiter. The first time (mid-week) he could handle the patrons; the second time (Friday) he was clearly overwhelmed. They need to put on a second wait person on Fridays. The food that I had (two different lunch specials - lemongrass chicken, garlic shrimp) was good. I liked the amount of vegetables that came with each dish. It would be good if they listed at least one vegetable lunch special but I'm sure they would make it if requested. It would be nice to see this restaurant do well. They need to "up the game" on the front end service or they will lose customers. read more

My boyfriend and I went to the Asian Mart to buy some groceries and we stumbled upon this restaurant. We haven't seen any pho restaurant around the area, so we decided to give it a try. At first glance, it looks nice. It's clean, it's spacious and it's basically your typical Vietnamese restaurant. But don't let the looks fool you. Service here was horrible. The waitresses were unfriendly and made very small talks to us. But I don't think it's them. Tbh, I think it's the owner of the place that was stressing them out. I'm Vietnamese so I understood all the things he said to them. He had some friends over for dinner (@ the restaurant) and they were ordering a whole table worth of foods. The waitresses had them to attend as well as other customers so they forgot to bring some damn bean sprouts and basils. The owner then proceeded to scold them rudely for forgetting and repeatedly repeated the same damn sentence on how "it's the most important plate on the table". Like come on. Treat your employees well if you want them to give good services. He also came by our table to ask us if we needed anything from him and when we said no, he decided that a no is a yes and came back to give us a plate of freaking bitter mint (not even basils). Made the pho worst then it was already was lol. Anyways, back to the food review. Pho here is seriously a 1 star out of 10. It's pricy first of all ($9 for a regular) and secondly the pho broth is clear like water. How can pho have just clear liquids? I know how delicious pho tastes and the food here is not worth my belly. I'm a Marylander and there are yummy pho everywhere there. I'm glad we're just here for vacation because if I were to live here, I wouldn't know what real pho is like. read more
