I was quoted $120 per strap end, which seemed wildly overpriced. . Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion and went to Mike's Shoe Repair on Topanga & Dumetz. I'm so glad I did! Mike charged $20 per side, and the quality of the work is outstanding. The repair is so clean it looks like the damage never even happened. If you're considering Savignar, I'd strongly recommend shopping around first. I felt taken advantage of as though he saw an expensive brand and I'd spend anything. As for Mike's, it's a hidden gem, honest service, fair pricing, and excellent craftsmanship. Highly recommend supporting businesses that are fair... brand or not. Told him what I needed and scheduled an appointment, as he was able to see me right away. Gary is VERY detailed oriented, experienced and you can tell that he is an expert at his craft. As he explained every detail about the adjustment(s) about my belt, discussed my options and I was impressed by his precise measurements. Business is located in a nice neighborhood, I felt safe. Some items sold but the pricey leather coat didn't. I kept checking weekly to see the status. Suddenly yesterday the item disappeared off their site and my account. I called today and that's when I was taken aback. According to the sales lady they keep it for three months and then if you don't ask for it in writing at least a week before the three months expire then the item is literally theirs to keep. They don't even send you an e mail or text reminder . Just poof - gone! apparently they put it in small letters as part of their contract when you first consign but never actually tell these details to you in person. She was finally able to contact the store near where we live after two weeks and confirmed WITH the manager at the Arden mall (Sacramento) that we will be in to return the items. She called us four days ago to confirm accepting the return EXACTLY HOW IT SAYS ON THE RECEIPT , which is to the original firm of payment. We go today to the Arden location and Regis tried to give us the same excuse that we can only give store credit or exchange. I told him that we already contacted customer service and they spoke to the manager at this location and she said we can. He denied, and said that the manager said YESTERDAY that they can only do exchanges or store credit, so I called customer service. Alejandra L. , the woman I spoke with on the phone and e-mail was very helpful. Liz, the supervisor, I spoke to on the phone today was very helpful & she spoke to Regis and told him to give me my refund to the card I used and he did! It just blows my mind that it took damn near two weeks to get this finally resolved and it took over 5 people to make one return!! The pricing was fair, the work was outstanding, and when I wasn't 100% thrilled with the chain I had ordered, we had a full discussion to get to the bottom of the issue.
