Most were really nice and knew their stuff, but at this place we got the best of both worlds. They sell Marin and Giant, but at a certain price point, most bikes have the same components and the difference is really more about the feel. John is the owner and he knows his stuff. We went through the normal "Where do you ride" stuff, but then he explained the options and the characteristics of the bikes. After a few test rides, he even suggested, we run another errant and come back while be assembles another bike that he thinks would fit better. Once we decided on our purchase, he got the rider all measured and tuned the bike up for us to take. I will be taking my bikes here for service and will come back for new bikes, too.

I took a nut and safety washer in to see if they had parts for purchase. The gentleman went in the back, brought me a safety washer and spent time with two other guys searching for a locking nut that matched the one I had. They spent about 8 minutes huddled back there searching. He came back and was so apologetic about not being able to find one to GIVE me. They didn't charge me for the part they did give me and were going to give me the other for free too. Now, these are tiny parts and don't expect this obviously.. but the fact that these guys went above and beyond for something so small was amazing and the best customer service I've had anywhere in a long time. If I didn't have babies and I did ride, I'd be buying my bike and bringing my bike in to this place for service. Thanks guys.

I came in for a running headlight. There were tons of options as headlights double for hiking, camping, etc. I was able to get a light and be on my way. However, it was a bit overwhelming with so much depth in every area, but "REI" depth - lots of base layers, rows of Gore-Tex jackets, etc. - not a lot of variety in brands and items - seemed a bit stale. I shop a lot at Scheels and Cabela's and they merchandise very well with lots of brands across different price points. It was also hard to find someone that worked there to help me even though the store was empty, but the checkout people were nice.

After I picked it up, I noticed I wasn't charged for it and a week later, the front tire was flat again. I never got around to bringing it back until last week, and just asked to replace the tires and front lining. When I picked up the bike I explained what happened last time and asked if there was a warranty so I wouldn't have the same issue again. The guy at the register said no, there wasn't. I said I understood if there was a puncture or something that I caused, but just for the tires themselves, even a limited warranty? No. I guess I didn't know that was a thing. I wasn't trying to be a jerk, but the guy acted like I was. I dropped it, paid for it, and then he made a personal comment, saying I should go find an Air Conditioner and sit in front of it. It was hot and I walked a half mile there in the sun and I sweat a bit, always have. I felt this comment was unnecessarily confrontational and completely unprofessional. I have no problems with the products and service. I just didn't appreciate the personal comment, is all.

The cargo bike shop was less than helpful. My husband took my bike to Chilkoot Cyclery (which doesn't even sell Tern bikes) and they discovered that it was missing an important piece to the drive train and was causing my chain to rub on the frame. The team at Chilkoot went above an beyond helping us solve the mystery. They called Tern and ordered a replacement part, installed it, and gave my bike a tune up for a very reasonable price. Then I looked around the store, they didn't have any nearly close to his size. Seriously. He then offered to order one online and said, it's $900 bucks.
