Love the food at Coakley's. Best wings in the area. Always get mild buffalo sauce with jerk seasoning (taste so good). My wife got the shrimp salad and was pleased. The wait staff is great, just a little revealing in the clothing department. Prices have also go up in the last 3 months. Still one of the better restaurants in the area. read more

I recently went to Coakley's for lunch. The crab cake was mediocre and the mashed potatoes were from a box. Overpriced for what you get.

I don't know what happened, but the service is now terribly slow and the food is awful. I have gone with work groups and friends. Almost impossible to get even a drink on a friday or saturday night; especially if it's busy. I usually get a drink at MacGregors and come back to watch the band. read more

First time coming here and our last. We came on a Sunday around lunch to grab some food and drinks. From tart to finish the experience was horrible. The hostess clearly didn't want to be there. Her demeanor showed it. Once we got a table we sat there a few minutes looking over the menu before a waitress acknowledged us. We put our drink and appetizers in once she came to the table. Our appetizers arrived before drinks. We got half way through them before I got up to just grab a beer at bar. The waitress never came back to check on us once the food dropped or to get our entrees order. The appetizers were amazing to bad we didn't get to order the rest before deciding to leave. First time coming to Coakley's and I'd say we were certainly impressed/pleased. There was a slight 15-20 minute wait due to staffing shortage (which was no problem at all to us) and we were seated outside in the very enjoyable outside seating area with beautiful hardscaping and artificial grass (with games/activities for the kids). Beer prices were slightly steep for my personal liking ($4 for a 12oz can, but hey, I've paid a lot more elsewhere). But the food was outstanding and fresh. Mozzarella sticks for the app were terrific, the Honey Old Bay wings were the best I've ever had by far. Meaty, fresh, hot, and full of flavor. We also enjoyed our entrees of the Captain Charlie (Tuna steak sandwich topped with crab meat) and my wife's Shrimp Salad Wrap. Great service from a seemingly newer waitress and we were in and out in a timely manner. Definitely will stop by again in the future! read more

Unfortunately, this establishment wasn't welcoming. The servers were on their phone and appeared to care if you came in or not. We received our food and the fish was still frozen and the Ahi Tuna was extremely over cooked. The server removed from our bill, but never offered a suggestion. She listed all the items that were unavailable. The manager looked our way, but never approached. Spoke with others in the dining area, but not us. As we left, a couple outside on a bench asked how we like the food. We replied we would not be coming back. They said unless you are a local they could care less about you. I was really excited to try this place but I Do not recommend this place for food..it was just not good. My wide and I visited yesterday. We got the cheese fries which just weren't good it 1. did not have enough cheese 2. Bacon bits were mostly inedible fat 3. Fries did not taste good, they weren't seasoned and were just dry I got the Chesapeake sand which with chicken that was super thin and dry. Also had a tiny bit of crab. And more fatty bacon bits. This was our first visit. We'd heard good things. There were 6 in our party. Let me start by saying the atmosphere was great. The service wasn't stellar but everyone being short staffed now you need to expect that. The food however was not good. The filet even though cooked properly was tough and didn't have good flavor. My friend treated me to dinner, delivered by DoorDash. Had Fish and Chips, Seafood Nachos, and Chocolate Cake - It had another name but don't remember what it was. The fish was quite soggy. Definitely not crispy on the outside - how I like it. They didn't include much fish. I should've eaten the seafood nachos first as the tortilla chips got soggy. It was crab dip and shrimp on top of tortilla chips, with melted cheese, tomatoes, and green onion. I'd like to try the food at the restaurant. I'd hope it would be better there. This isn't a good restaurant to order delivery from. That's why I gave 4 Stars, instead of 3. The cake was absolutely incredible! And for $5, a good deal. read more

Went to this place on a Saturday afternoon. 1- Service was bad. Totally inattentive. Had to wait forever for menus and only got those by flagging someone down. Food took forever and we ordered a club sandwich, bruschetta with crab meat, and a hot dog for the kid. Nothing complicated. 2- Waffle fries were soggy and cold. I wonder when they were cooked? They have to sit around a while to get that cold. They also need to be seasoned. 3- We were on the patio. There were flies EVERYWHERE. I don't know how this happens, but we were swarmed. We spent the entire meal waving over our food so the flies wouldn't land. They would land on our hands. This went for everyone sitting at the outdoor bar too. read more

Stood in the bar and let a waitress know I was waiting on a to-go burger she told me to talk to the bartender. I asked her could I get a beer while I waited. So I ordered a blue moon And I still waited for my burger Finally I asked could I sit in the dining area and just eat there. I sat. Ordered another beer. And after another 10min, asked about my burger Waitress finally brought it (in its to-go container despite me saying I would eat it there). Burger wasn't bad: they say it's made from scratch and it had a scratch-like texture. But, as with most non-real homemade burgers, the meat had no internal seasoning. Ordered it med-rare, but the flavor was still wonting. Got it w all the fixings, sharp cheese, mushroom, lettuce tomato onion. And still added my own Ole Bay to give it a bit of kick Not horrible and would probably try again. But was disappointed in how long a simple burger took when there seemed not to be many/any patrons eating, only people at the bar drinking And unsure why the waitresses couldn't help the bartenders out. Actually one barkeep pawned me off to another one. Also unsure why a local pub wouldn't carry local beers (maybe there aren't local breweries in Md?) He then ordered the Chesapeake flat bread. It was loaded with sauce and the underside wasn't even done. I had the roast beef and horseradish wrap. It had a good taste but there was hardly any meat on it. More cheese and lettuce. I just had the single worst salad I've ever eaten in my life. I'm sure Coakleys is great for fried bar food, but I am trying to be healthy. I ordered a grilled chicken salad that while it may be difficult to make a great one, but sure as hell it shouldn't be hard to make a good one. The salad was bag lettuce, a few tiny tomato cubes, until avocado & pre shredded cheese. The chicken tasted like a Perdue pre cooked package, and I literally could do better with my eyes closed. It was awful & I won't be back. The steamed shrimp were good - tough to mess that up as all you need is Old Bay. read more

Outstanding! The place is aptly classified as a pub and it certainly lives up to pub fare. I started with a dry, dirty, Bombay Sapphire martini... and, as any good bartender knows-- gin martini drinkers expect their beverage to be just so. Rachel over performed. The martini was perfect. For dinner, I ordered the crab cake sandwich. It too was delectable; a true Maryland crab patty. The sandwich came with fries and a small helping of coleslaw. The coleslaw was good, but those fries... they are, by far, better than any fries you'll find at any 5-star restaurant anywhere. Overall, a real winner! read more

Enjoyed a nice, Saturday afternoon lunch at Coakley's. Our table got the appetizer Seafood Nachos which were okay, but nothing amazing. The hits were our meals: burger, chicken wrap with honey mustard, and salmon Cesar salad. House Fries were good, but not great. The chicken wrap, salads and burger were all awesome! Our last visit to Coakley's was one of the worst visits we have ever encountered. We asked the hostess to seat us outside at one of the picnic tables near the fence since we had out dog we like to be out of the way. After the hostess seated us the server approached her and evidently did not like where she sat us. The server was rude from start to finish. She definitely needs to take a customer service class! She did not make eye contact at all. Our food came out at room temperature and was not appetizing. The server rarely came out to check on us. The restaurant inside and out was not even busy the evening we were there. I tried to find a manager to place a complaint as we were leaving but could not even find anyone behind either bar (outside and inside). I sent an email to Coakley's to place a complaint but no response. read more
