First night in Aberdeen and we walked across the street to Grumpy's. Very casual, welcoming bar and Grill. Service was excellent. Everyone was very helpful. The establishment was very clean. Kid got some wings to start off with and the wife and I got the loaded nachos. Upon ordering, I asked what the house recommended. I was told that Friday nights they make fresh pot roast. Oddly, it's not on the menu and no signs saying so...... So good thing I asked. Nachos were loaded and very good. I snuck a wing from the kid and they were slightly above average. Very good for a small bar and Grill. Pot roast was excellent. Very tender and the gravy was perfect. Came with potatoes and another side. Yes..... I went with double starches and had the baked potato as well. If you're in the area, especially for a Ripken Tournament, this is worth checking out. Solid dinner all around. read more

The food at Grumpy's is always good and the staff friendly. Just because this restaurant is in an older hotel- don't pass it by! It's right off I-95 so it's convenient for travelers too. Their burgers are the best and they make a killer seafood double decker club sandwich with delicious shrimp salad and crab cake. I was a little shocked at the price but everything has gone up. Experience: Upon walking in with a couple other baseball families (9 of us total), the hostess came firmly walking right up to us and rudely says "nope. We don't serve baseball families. Didn't you read the sign (a poorly written small note on the front door right next to the broken glass/window)." Unacceptable treatment and an embarrassing way to run a business. Ok ok I will admit from the outside, you would be cautious but once you walk through the doors despite its name the staff is super friendly and the restaurant is nice. Held a work event there and everyone enjoyed themselves and Patty was super sweet. I ordered the Fish and Chips and even though the fish was beer battered (like I expected) it was crispy and tasted good. Onion rings were good also AND they make a good sangria. I was driving from North Carolina to Long Island New York got caught on 95 construction all lanes were bottlenecking into one lane was sitting in traffic for like a half hour said F- this and googled the nearest bar restaurant/hotel near me came up with Grumpy's/Travel lodge The bar restaurant made me Glad not Grumpy I had a bacon cheeseburger which was AWESOME ! So we stopped by on a Friday night. The bar was fairly busy, but there's plenty of table availability. Good sign. We decided to got the crab dip (which my party enjoyed) and a sampler, of which everything was very good (though the marinara was a bit sweet for my tastes). For dinner I got the prime rib, which was good, but not great. It came with two sides, so I got mashed potatoes (which were very much homemade) and a side salad. My mother got the half pound of shrimp, which came mixed with onions. The shrimp was big, fresh, and well cooked. My friend got the chicken quesadilla, which was generous and delicious. I have bin going there for 20 plus years with family and friends. my dad to when he was alive. after this past Saturday June 29 /24 . I will never step foot in that place ever again the way I was treated.. I have never been kicked out of a bar or restaurant before. This behavior that I experienced was totally abusable from Patty the new manager that works there now. Just when Patty served me my food she got involved with a phone call from my fiancé. I was not raising my voice yelling or cursing.. Patty got extremely nasty with me told me to take it outside just when I got my food in front of me before I took the first bite. when I was ready to leave cashing out . my fiancé called me again not on speakerphone.Patty got involved with my conversation, start yelling and being verbal with me causing a scene. Then picked up the phone behind the bar said she was calling the cops on me and threatened to tell them I was drunk and disorderly and was getting ready to drive.After she served me only two beers with my meal. I made her give me back my tip when I was walking out the door my fiancé called me on FaceTime to see what was going on cause she heard Patty yelling and cursing and causing a scene. Patty says no get the F out don't pick up that phone.Patty through my change at me at the door I picked it up. she was yelling and causing a scene..My fiancé who I've taken there before called Patty on the phone. Patty got rude and nasty with her and stated I don't have to explain myself. I can do whatever I want the manager here now I didn't like him anyway. read more

Believe everything good that you read about this place. The service is incredible. Staff is very friendly. They play a collection of 80's music here, which I love about the place. The atmosphere is very chill. The food is great and the prices are reasonable. If you're stuck in Aberdeen for some reason, and you're looking to grab a few drinks somewhere. Grumpy's has been a dive bar stop of ours of years. We have been stopping by here for dinner while cruising home on road trips. The dark, gritty atmosphere always was part of Grumpy's appeal and I kinda want to give them 4 stars for removing the cool bras. But my husband say to not be petty! We hadn't been on a road trip in a few years and were surprised to see the updated interior (it does look nice). The great food & drinks make it impossible not to be appreciative. We were in the area for a baseball tournament - the night before we went to the Greene Turtle and had such a horrible experience so we decided to try somewhere else. When we pulled up, I definitely thought about turning around. I'm sorry if that sounds snobby, but unfortunately being attached to the TravelLodge, you never know what you are walking into. We were a party of 10, parents and players (3 families). They were very accommodating. The service was great and the food was very good. My favorites were the Old Bay Wings and Crab Cake Platter. Been here a few times and I like the place. Quick service and a busy place. Because of the storm two of the bridges were closed and it would take almost 4 hours to get home. Very good wings, the Buffalo is the best. The chicken chesapeake entree was excellent as well. They advertise as cheap beer and cheap food so you save money. The taste of the beer and food was nothing close to cheap. This is not a kid friendly bar and grill. The decor is a bit dated and the layout is tight, but it is worth it for the food. read more

A hidden Aberdeen gem. If you are into a local scene, nothing fancy, good food and decent beer selection this is the place. We went in on a Sunday during football season. The bartender was very pleasant. She was pouring free shots of "punch" every time the Ravens scored, she even poured a few without a touchdown. We got the chili nachos, and buffalo wings. Nachos were pretty good and the wing did not disappointe. We each had two beers and the overall bill was $22! I have a feeling we have found our local spot. We'll definitely be back. read more

And dinner had delmonico baked tater and salad steak cooked perfect potato was cooked all the way .
