Wow, from the minute we walked onto the property. We were greeted by the fire beginning to rip and offered a beverage of our choice. And that was before we even checked in. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared for us before we arrived and ducked through the tiny bamboo forest through the private stone courtyard of our cabin. The hot tub was heated to the perfect degree, the dry sauna was prepared with towels and the little scoopy-bucket was filled with water, white spa robes artfully arranged with a tiny flower on each one, orchids in every room, organic chocolate bar and bowl of fruit in the well-appointed kitchen, packet of s'mores for roasting over the robust fire outside, we were offered coffee, tea, perrier or red or white wine while checking in, and the Bose stereo was playing Pink Martini when we waltzed in. Are you kidding us? This place is an oasis. I haven't even gotten to everything the innkeepers provided to make our stay outstanding, there is so much more. Just trust me, if you ever have the chance to stay here, do it. read more

I actually did not stay at this hotel so can't comment on the accommodation but this review does reflect their customer service. I had a work a meeting in Tillamook that got moved from a morning meeting to an afternoon meeting which meant I needed to cancel my reservation at the Coast Cabins (this was during winter so it was not busy). I love Manzanita and love supporting small businesses so I found this place on yelp and quickly booked it. As I mentioned my plans changed and I needed to cancel my stay. I joked with the women while booking that I was happy to book direct so I didnt have to book through Expedia and she mentioned that they provided a more affordable price by booking direct. Once I needed to cancel, I called their local number to let them know that I read their cancellation policy but was seeing if there was anything they could do. $198 a night was the charge and wondered if they would split it with me. No call back was received to this message. I called again. Someone answered. She told me she would consider it. No return call ever. I called again a week later. No answer. If you are going to stay at this hotel, I would strongly advise to book through a channel that has a cancellation policy as this company is not flexible. read more

I'm so very disappointed with the customer service at this local boutique hotel. I cancelled my reservation over three weeks prior to the intended stay and they charged me a 50.00 cancellation fee. I was unaware of this charge and I would not have cancelled if I knew about it. I asked repeatedly for a refund which they have not returned my emails. We have been staying here every few years for the past ten years when we need a break from our kids. We usually love it but obviously they don't care about repeat guests. We use to tell people to stay here but at this point I would recommend Stephanie Inn. They give a discount for repeat guests and don't charge you a fee for cancelling before the cancellation period! They also provide a wonderful breakfast and happy hour. STAY AT STEPHANIE INN ! They care about their guests!!!! read more

We have been twice now, once to the modern ranch, and once to the Laneda Loft. Both were excellent. The ranch is a little more luxurious, with it's hot tub, back yard, and STEAM shower (oh my gosh - so nice), but the Laneda loft was just a slick and comfy, and boosts the great location of only being a few blocks from the beach. Out other favorite thing? Out dog always gets to come along! read more

As if Manzanita weren't already a lovely little beach town for stopping over during your coastal trip, Coast Cabins is a beautiful, relaxing, cozy, well-appointed place to stay. So much care (and money) has gone into the cabins--Restoration Hardware robes, Smith & Hawken patio seating, lavender spray for the bedroom, coffee beans & a grinder, as examples--that you feel like you're staying in a 5-star hotel. Plus they think of things that you might not - flashlights & lanterns for navigating in the dark outdoors, beach towels, and supplies to make s'mores in your outdoor fireplace. We loved being able to cook our own meals indoors and out (there's a little grocery just down the street) and lounging in the loft-like bed area that features lots of light & air coming in the windows (which you can shut up tight if you like). read more

Who knew that you could feel like you're miles away from civilization just a stones throw from highway 101. I won't start going on about the amenities; I wouldn't know where to start and how to end... It's a perfect retreat for those who want to be close to the beach but want a private retreat. There's a reason everyone else have given this 5 stars. There's isn't another place that combines this zen-like retreat a few block from the beach and smack dab in the middle of a quaint little town. My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend. It was lovely! The grounds and buildings are nice. Our cabin was great except the cabinets were scratched/dinged up in the kitchenette. Unfortunately I spent the rest of my vacation inside that cabin, due to having a virulent case of the flu striking the morning after our arrival. It was a great place to get sick, except our cabin had two shower heads in the single shower, and the water heater clearly could not handle it. If I only used one I could get a ten minute, lukewarm shower in... But when you've got a bad fever, vomiting, sweating etc it takes a lot of showers to feel human again. Other than that it was great, they even had a dog bed and bowls for our two dogs in the cabin, a selection of snacks for us, and even a filled water filter pitcher in the fridge. read more

We had a great time at the Coast Cabins. They offered us a complimentary upgrade so our family could stay closer together - so nice! We stayed in their newest remodeled cabin which was amazing with a steam shower, hot tub and top notch designer furniture and appliances. Our parents stayed in another, older cabin, which was also really nice. They had a dog bed and treats for our pooch too which was a nice touch. If we go back to the OR coast we'll definitely stay here again. read more

A serious gem in Manzanita. My now husband and I stayed in the spa cabin for our honeymoon and couldn't stop raving about how beautiful this spot was. Their attention to detail is unmatched. From a bowl full of Oregon hazelnuts, to a note from the managers congratulating us - every piece of the room felt thoughtful and meaningful. Amazing place, it was a surprise get away for my wife and she and I both loved it and will be returning in the future. They did a fantastic job of utilizing the space to make sure everything you could need was there but not in the way and everything was of very high quality. Oh, dear. Coast Cabins has some things they call "lofts." As I was traveling alone with my dog I thought that would be the best thing. What they don't tell you is: There is a stairway for you to carry your things up that is about 30 stairs. The parking lot is not anywhere near this stairway. There is no one to help you or greet you. They just hand you a key and a map. The room is right on the road and is noisy and if you want fresh air, forget opening the windows. There is absolutely no privacy so you have to keep the binds shut. These rooms are actually in a small SHOPPING MALL. Lesson learned. Stay in a motel on the beach, hear the surf, enjoy the town. Very very annoying and disappointing. And expensive. read more

The owners of this establishment clearly take a thoughtful detail-oriented pride in their establishment and take hospitality standards seriously. The Coast Condos (vs. Cabins) are great too! Brand new construction with top-of-the-line modern appliances (read: spend less time washing dishes while on vacation if you do your own grilling), modern hookups (ipod dock stereo in living room, cable, wifi), well-stocked kitchen (it's like opening a cabinet to Ikea, plus bonus thoughtful items like cling wrap and a funnel, coffee bean grinder, coffee, fancy kitchen soap, a lanterns, beach bag, etc.), and a grill. The condo #9 is two blocks from the beachfront, and right on the main street with whatever limited restaurant choices there are in Manzanita, and upstairs from the spa, the gym, a yarn shop and a pet supply shop. Why anyone would want a gym when you can run on the beach is beyond me, but there it is. The place was immaculately clean when we arrived, with ample info supplied on where to get stuff and what one might want to do nearby. If we'd been less preoccupied looking at other stuff, there was also a fire pit in front of the main office where one could roast marshmallows or sit around telling stories. This place cost a pretty penny, we plan on going back with friends to take full advantage of the grill, and hopefully get some time to lie around reading on the beach (and go kite-flying and tide pool gazing at Cannon Beach). Minor drawbacks to note: shower design flaw, modern connectivity = no escape from the internets, no movies in the bedroom unless you bring your own cords and laptop, no pets whatsoever. One small weird thing was the rain shower head, which due to the open design of the shower, gets half the bathroom wet (including toilet seat!) when you use it. Some fanciful architect was none too smart, and there's no real structure to put up a shower curtain to fix this. However, there's two [luxurious!] shower head options, and the other one is just fine. The open design does make for some heat loss when showering, but after the initial surprise the first night, all the other amenities far outweighed this design flaw. Also, no DVD option in the bedroom (we hooked a laptop up with a cable we brought), and no pets -not even visitors. Obviously, with wifi connection, this is not the spot to escape the internet, but you probably could've guessed that one. Also, our cable cut out about an hour before 11AM checkout. I guess some one was trying to remind us to pack (already done)? read more

i signed up for yelp just so i could rave about this place. the reviews below seem to cover it all, but here are my two cents anyway. i needed some serious R&R so i booked two nights in cabin 4. from the moment i arrived to the moment i left, i experienced compete and utter relaxation. i was offered complimentary wine upon check-in, and there was down tempo jazz playing (on the bose sound system with ipod dock!) in the cabin as i arrived. the cabin was stocked with a gorgeous fruit and chocolate basket and three different kinds of coffee (plus grinder, filters, drip coffee pot, & french press!), and everything i needed to cook my own meals (sans food, of course). my dog was greeted warmly, and received a cozy bed, dog bowls, lacoste towels, a sheet, and a super cute blanket. i left my cabin a few times to hit the beach, but otherwise i spent a lot of time lounging, reading, doing yoga, and -- yes -- soaking the super private and clean spa. it was basically pouring the whole time, but in nicer weather the patio would be divine. everything in the cabin was classy, clean, and in excellent condition. no lame "beachy" decor either. this place is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. my money got me the most relaxing vacation ever. go. now. read more

Every detail was thought out and beautifully designed. Cozy, well designed cabins- modern with enough rusticity and wood to perfectly blend with the rural-like bamboo grove setting that provided complete privacy. Kerry had a fire going in the communal fire pit and she offered a glass of wine upon our arrival. She also recommended many nearby options for dining, food shopping and outdoor activities. Upon arriving at our cabin, to our delight, we discovered chocolate, fruit and Malin + Goetz personal care products in bathroom. Wonderful coffee was stocked in the cabin, both whole beans and ground, with both french press and drip machine options. Needless to say, the Manzanita stretch of the Oregon Coast is stunningly beautiful and for us, Coast Cabins was the perfect place to return to after a day of hiking and exploring. read more

I travel frequently for business and pleasure. I often give 4 star reviews for superior lodgings but this is only the third time I have given a 5 star review. I stayed in condo 6 on a Saturday and Sunday night. The unit is beautiful to look at and suits the aesthetic of this laid back, yet sophisticated beach town perfectly. The high ceilings and enormous windows bring the outside indoors. We had great weather but I imagine even in a rainstorm this place would be cozy and inviting with the gas stove turned on. There is a lovely small grocery and deli just across the street that carries a fine selection of anything you could possibly want to eat or drink. There is even a nice selection of paperback books and movies on DVD in the unit. We were warned about noise from the live music at the tavern, but it never materialized. All in all it was a most restful and relaxing stay. I will be back. read more

Coast Cabins is my favorite place to escape on the Oregon Coast. Not only are the cabins embellished with impeccable taste, the atmosphere is what instantly helps me relax when I arrive. Although I love a good sunny beach walk, I actually prefer that it be raining when I'm staying at Coast Cabins. The sound of the rain against the bamboo and rocks while I'm in the cabins with a window cracked, just puts me at ease. There is a quietness to the property that is like no-other and partly due to the lush landscape and tropical gardens that surround each cozy cabin. I'm pretty happy that each cabin now has it's own hot tub too, and outdoor fire pits! read more

Came here for my birthday weekend with a girlfriend. We were blown away by the attention to detail, thoughtful and top of the line architecture, and luxury amenities. We stayed in the Modern House. I would estimate it to be 1,600 sf. Full kitchen, LR, king size bedroom, 1.5 baths, and a large outdoor entertaining area with grill, table, jacuzzi, and beautiful landscaping. Very private. And lest I forget to mention the steam shower and state-of-the-art toilet with a heated seat and bidet? Can I live here? Outstanding. read more

Gorgeous from start to finish. Carrie helped me book the perfect room which included a king size super comfy bed, a gas grill, a sauna and a hot tub. We were close to the office so we chatted with her often. She gave us great tips on what to do and eat in the area plus gave us s'mores kits and beer plus a glass of wine in the evening. We sat around the fire pit and relaxed. She apologized profusely for the construction as well. The room and grounds were spotless plus we were greeted with a lovely fruit and chocolate basket. Wow! This was quite a find...My good friend and I went for a rest and relaxation getaway to the Oregon Coast and found this great spot. The owners have done an amazing job with this place. We stayed in the Modern Ranch. Extremely spacious. And impeccable attention to detail. Upon check in, we were greeted with Nespresso Coffee, Steven Smith Teas, or Wine in the mini-reception area. We had a private parking space for our cabin and upon entry, appreciated the large patio in front and in back. This was like a house. Miele/Sub-Zero appliances, All Clad cookware, and European fixtures in the bath. There was even a steam shower and 2nd bathroom which was nice. Heated floors. King bed was very comfortable and the sheets were ultra smooth and soft. Very comfortable, clean, and tastefully done. Contemporary setting. This is possibly one of the best places I have ever stayed at. And trust me, I have stayed at a lot of nice places. Fruit, chocolate, and smores kits in the kitchen. And a hot tub, BBQ, lounge chairs and patio table in the back. Luscious trees and greenery with the Oregon weather. In close walking distance to the local restaurants and shops. Spent a night Valentine's Weekend and was so happy to settle in after dinner at The Blackbird. The music and robes on the bed was inviting. The cabin was lush and super comfortable. After a nice shower we settled into bed with excellent TV selection and snuggly bedding. The body wash and lotion was so nice I'm ordering for home. Wonderful! This was our last night on a long road trip and we wanted a little bit of luxury, we found it. We stayed in cabin #2, a studio which was a perfect size or us and our 3 month old baby. There's nothing better than arriving from a long drive and being offered a glass of wine or cold beer. The grounds were stunning with all different varieties of bamboo and we really enjoyed the architecture and interior design. The attention to details was amazing and appreciated. There was a fire crackling all day in the fire pit and we took full advantage of the smore-making package they left us. My only wish is that the mini fridge had a freezer compartment as we were on a long road trip, we had ice packs we wanted to refreeze. If you can afford this place, it's worth every penny. read more

Phenomenal. At Coast Cabins, the hosts take care of every detail - from a glass of local wine at check-in to a gorgeous-smelling wood fire that greets you in the common area to a softly playing zen soundtrack in the bedroom to yummy snacks in your cabin. Everything here is high quality - from the cookware and dishes in the kitchen to the furnishings to the plush robes...I also like the fact that it is just off the beaten path and away from the noise and busyness of downtown. There is privacy and comfort and all good things to be had at Coast Cabins. A great relief from funky beach houses! Perfect location just a few blocks from beach, and local businesses. Extremely clean, best quality and well-cared for, with nice "touches" everywhere. Very friendly and helpful owner and manager, generous stash of fruit and snacks in cabin, glass of wine upon arrival. We were in Cabin #1 which is on the main street but that was not a problem as it's off season. There are many other choices and all are in a bamboo forest. Owners have created a beautifully landscaped paradise with fire pit and fountains in Manzanita's little "downtown". Space is tiny, which we happen to like, but efficiently set up and we had everything we needed and more. We prepared all of our meals there. Loft bedroom is very comfortable and yes, the steps up are steep but that, fortunately was ok with us. We will be back. read more
