I understand there are various reasons for interacting with a towing company. The reviews here seem to stem from unpleasant circumstances. In my case, we had a flat tire while we were parked at the Capitola Wharf parking on Cliff Drive after a wonderful day of celebrating my birthday. As soon as we realized we had a flat tire, we called AAA and since the first alternative of replacing with our spare donut tire would not be safe for the distance we have to drive back home, AAA connected us with this towing company. Francisco came to our rescue with a very clean tow truck, a kind and pleasant demeanor, and an efficient and professional manner to get the work done. I would not wish to use their services again for obvious reasons, but if one does require their services, I highly recommend them. read more

I think a review of a towing place is pretty pointless because whoever actually decides to open a business for towing cars probably just sucks in general. But I am so disgusted with this business that I've decided to leave one. Wish I could leave negative stars. Basically I waited over an hour for someone to change a flat and they never came. I called their number for an updated ETA and the lady on the phone was probably one of the rudest people I've ever encountered in customer service / life. Ever. Like wow, someone must have really hurt her. Anyways, after reading previous reviews I noticed a pattern of complaints about the woman who answered the phone all the way back to 2011??? Crazy. I mean if you really hate your job so much to talk to people the way you did to me, then quit?? I don't know, but figure something out because this experience really sucked. And to the person who I spoke to on the phone- if you are reading this I please figure out wtf is wrong with you :) and why you think it's ok to speak to a human being the way you did. OH I forgot to update! OMG so my son got in a car accident and I had to sign off on the car to give it to the insurance co. I had to call 9-1-1 when there because of Lucy and the man that works there (might be the owner?) screaming at me and banging on my car window. It was very upsetting. My son and his wife just got in a huge car accident and I have been very sick... not something I or anyone should go thru. I was on the phone with the insurance guy telling him they refused to take my paperwork and trying to drive out of the gravel pit lot which is not easy to drive on with a non tow truck car. Then when sheriff came I was told Lucy lied and said I had threated to kill her! This place has tons of negative reviews and they even put incorrect address on their business. They are still on S Rodeo Gulch rd at the end in Soquel. I did not even talk to her this time! But she said that. I only talked to the man who battered my car window. 9-1-1 dispatch heard me screaming in fear. I am not one to normally scream. They were terrifying. I am really disturbed that law enforcement uses them. They use abusive people who are known thieves and liars. read more

Let's be honest, there are diametrically opposed reasons (and therefore views) for interacting with a towing service. These reasons greatly inform the perspectives as one can read from the current reviews. Well, I was in an accident, my car was towed by Coast County Towing because it was blocking traffic and CHP did not want to (reasonably enough) wait for AAA to come to the scene. CHP has a contract with Coast County Towing, so here we are. I had to release my car from the lot, so AAA (my insurance company) could pick it up. I tried to call a few times, but ended up in voice mail - this is what happens when you don't have enough people, so "it is what it is." I drove to the lot and was created by a very kind person who quickly helped me out. the process was smooth and quick. Having experience with several of the local companies for towing and storage, I can say without hesitation, that Coast Counties Towing is the best! They are professional and excellent at what they do, and at the same time, they are fairly priced and understanding. The other companies treat people like they are nothing but hundred dollar bills. RIDONKULOUS! My work truck broke down in front of my office today. The Ford Road-Side assistance called Coast Counties Towing to bring my truck to the dealership. THREE HOURS LATER I find out from Ford that the driver said that he showed up and that somebody denied the tow. TOTAL SACK OF LIES!!! I am the only one here and have been watching my truck from my desk all afternoon. Now a new tow truck company is on its way and HOPEFULLY can get me to the Ford Dealership before it closes so that i can get a loaner vehicle. read more

Then this individual throwing these bombs went storming out of the building, and proceeded to tear out of the parking lot at a goodly speed in a Coast Counties flatbed tow truck. The left front brake of my Subaru suddenly began making some unholy squealing screeching noises as I was driving. So I parked. And walked about a mile home. No repair shops are open Sunday. This morning I called for a tow. Mike from Coast Counties Towing showed up as an answer to my prayers, and the nicest guy. He came to pick me up at my home so I didn't have to walk to my stranded car in the rain. But I didn't go with him to drive my car to the repair shop as I had originally planned. Here's what happened instead. I explained to Mike what the problem was. Mike drove his flatbed trailer down the road to my car, removed the rock that caused the squealing, loaded my car on the trailer, and towed it to me at home. Mike fixed the problem and I got my car back - no charge! He had me drive it around to be sure everything was ok. I can drive anywhere now safe and sound. What a hero! And while I remember Mike's grace of real help in my time of need - an answer to my prayers, I totally recommend calling Coast Counties Towing anytime you need roadside assistance. read more

They're not closed -- they're just in a different location. Matt provided wonderful customer service by going above and beyond to pick up the keys from me at home yet the car that I want towed was elsewhere. I had expressed that I was working at home and under a tight deadline that I would call him when I was done so that I could meet him where my car was. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them for towing service in the future...oh wait, on second though, I hope that I don't need them in the future. It was like one of my reviews for recommending my attorney for family law...I bragged and praised them and highly recommended them but at the same time, I don't wish for anybody to be any court case that needs an attorney. My car broke down on me a couple of weeks ago, and I met with tow truck driver Adam. Talk about above and beyond. I have NEVER gotten tow service like this before. He inspected my car, got on his hands and knees, and saw that my oil filter had fallen out. He took so much time and care with me, was so sympathetic, that I felt like I had someone on my side. He even told me to take pictures of the engine area so that I could file a complaint against Sears for doing a negligent and terrible oil change. I was then able to take this proof to Sears (knowing nothing about cars), and now my $267 shop bill will be covered by their claims department. He then gave me his mobile number and told me that if I ever went to small claims court, he'd be happy to testify as a witness that the reason my car broke down was through no fault of my own, but through the negligence of Sears. In addition, Adam didn't feel comfortable towing my car to any facility after work hours, as he did not want my car to be left vulnerable in some parking lot without any attendants. He then worked with me and my insurance company to have my car towed to my house, and we set up a second free tow through Geico to get it to a shop during normal working hours. Meanwhile, I had two huge, glass carboys filled with water, and he carried those himself to his truck, so that they would stay upright during the tow. When he delivered my car to my house, he then unloaded the carboys and helped me carry them to my house. If this weren't enough, he called me -- on his own -- over the course of several days to ask me about the progress of my car repair, how claims are being handled, etc. Who does that??! I was so impressed that when I called Geico's towing dispatch line a second time, I asked that Coast Counties be called out, and Adam specifically. When they said they cannot comply with getting me any particular person, I phoned Adam and he ensured me that they'd send over someone good. How would he know that? He hurriedly called his company and asked for them to send over a great employee. Cyril - another standup guy - showed up less than an hour later and and quickly towed my car to an auto shop I had chosen. I would have gone with Adam's suggestion (!), were it not for my friend recommending me someone before he had the chance. The fact that Adam gave me his personal mobile on top of the company number shows that he cares about the people he helps out, beyond just moving their cars around. Whoever does the hiring at Coast Counties is on top of things, that's all I have to say. Read the 5-star reviews. They are 5-star for a reason. Because of this service, I was inspired to write this lengthy post and now recommend Coast Counties to anyone who will listen. read more

I locked the keys in my car. After calling around I decided to go with Coast Counties Towing. On a busy Saturday night they arrived within the quoted time and were pleasant to deal with. John was the driver he arrived with a smile, was very professional and concerned with my well being. I have a volvo which I have been told are particularly difficult to break into . John had the door open in less than 3 minutes. I was charged the same price quoted over the phone, which was the cheapest quote I received. The driver shook my hand and I happily drove away. I understand no one is happy when having their car towed or having to pay out extra $ for something so frustrating. This is possibly reason for poor reviews. I was very happy I did not have to wait long in the cold and I was charge less than quoted by other companies nearby. I am grateful for the quick , friendly, and professional service of this company. I will not use this towing company again. My insurance company (21st century) sent them over to come get me and I regret using their services. $127 to bring me 6 miles to the nearest mechanic. Non-transparent billing/fees makes it feel as if they are taking advantage of you. I called to simply make sure I was charged correctly and the flustered receptionist (Melissa) was borderline incompetent and in need of a serious nap and/or hug. read more

Cyril is a very nice, patient, helpful individual that came even earlier than the estimated time! He reassured me that my tire would be okay and was calming me down in a time of distress. He told me what was wrong with my flat tire afterward he was done putting the spare on. He pointed out the nail in my tire and let me know that any tire place would take the nail out for me and would patch it up in the morning so I could go on my road trip! My daughter broke down at night in Moss landing on a dark stretch of highway 1. We called our roadside assistance and they sent out coast. It took them a little while to get out but they assured me they were on it. Mike arrived and made my daughter feel safe and secure immediately. Let me start by saying that I have NEVER had a flat in the 20+ years I've been driving and of course it happened while I was in an unfamiliar city while on vacation. This could have been very stressful. Could have ruined our entire day but because of the service and being so prompt, it wasn't. They were very quick to respond and when the guy showed up, he was very sweet and very helpful. I really do believe that 1 star is too many! I was in a motorcycle accident that put me in the hospital for a few days. My motorcycle was towed by this company. Long story short, they charged me $510 for towing and storage for 3 days, then they tried to charge me an illegal lien fee of $70 on top of that. When the owner realized his mistake he tried to pass it off as if he was doing me a favor by not charging me the fee. I am going to be reporting them to the CHP as to what they tried to do. A thorough investigation will probably cost them their contract with them. read more

Well, I don't know what to say about the several, angry "one star" reviews for this company. What I know is that we were broken down yesterday, in the rain, in Scott's Valley, and Geico sent us a guy from Coast Counties. He arrived exactly when he said he would, and, instead of just towing us to the mechanic we'd chosen, he started troubleshooting. He banged on things, popped the hood and poked around and discovered the problem- which turned out to be something we could take care of, ourselves. The guy's name is "Matt", and he was kindness, itself, seeming to want to tow the car only as a last resort. We drove home to Oakland last night, and I'm writing this review to thank Matt, for taking the time to help us, a lot more than we expected. These guys suck! Like the other review, one star may be too many. I called this company the other night for a tow and was in multiple arguments with the driver prior to arriving home. For one, I gave clear directions at the intersection of Freedom/Soquel and was asked multiple times where that was near. These guys operate in Santa Cruz County!!! I then told the dispatcher that I as walking to Sid's BBQ and would be there until the driver arrived. The driver arrived and called me (as requested) and I told him I was running over. I ran there in about 1 minute. Upon arrival he was gone. So I called him and had to coerce him back. He was about as user friendly as a raccoon and with his flat affect just didm;'t deliver the customer care that one would expect. I'm a firefighter and work around these guys all the time. I was not impressed in the least with this company and would never recommend them. On a lighter note, I had to continue the tow the next morning (from my house) and used Rossi's. What a delight. wow.. our car got towed which is noy coast counties fault at all, we had to get it back from them though... the lady on the phone was nice but not very knowledgable. she asked what time we would be there and i said 1:00 it was noon when i said this and she said great we will have someone there. so we get there a little early and wait. 1:30 comes along and i call back, she said oh it will be about 20 minutes, i waited til 2:00 and called back she then said she would have to call the driver... now i found out i'm in the wrong place? this is the address on yelp, the address the police dept. gave and the address the nice lady gave me... WTF? then when getting the car they said storage is by calendar day we paid $570 to get our car that was towed friday night and picked up sunday. this is robbery! if you get the choice, which we didn't, do not use this company! they have no regard for customer service and certainly no empathy for the customer read more
