I recently had a crown that popped off while I was flossing and I couldn't eat or drink anything since it was so sensitive. It was 10pm and I went on yelp and searched for a dentist. Emailed 2 - 5-Star and 1 - 4.5-Star dental offices. One never got back to me, nor answered the phone well after the office opened. One never called back. And the very last office, Coast Dental promptly answered the phone a minute before opening hours. Immediately i was greeted professionally with concern on how they could help me. I told her what happen, and how much pain I was in when I would try and eat or drink anything. She immediately said she had an opening with an hour and a half. I gave her all my dental insurance information to assist in processing me through since I was a new patient. When I arrived the office was nicely decorated, very clean, organized. Magazines, TV with the news on and water dispenser. They called me back within 15 minutes since I had paperwork to fill out. The dental tech was so attentive and sympathetic to my pain that he was so careful while taking my X-ray. Dr Maddock was so nice and communicated how my X-ray looked fine, no decay or issues there and since I brought my porcelain crown with me, he was able to clean it and re-cement it within minutes. Since it was a quick process he gave me an option to numb the area or if I was comfortable he would not. I chose to have the area numb. He was gentle and I felt no pain at all. I just finished my first check up and cleaning at this office and I am beyond amazed. I haven't been to the dentist in quite a while because i have moved around a lot and haven't found someone that I trust like my old dentist. I decided to give this place a try bc of the the great reviews and boy are they right! The office is clean and comfortable. I was called back almost immediately for x rays. After, I was brought to the hygienist's room where I waited for a bit. The wait didn't bother me since they have TVs in the ceilings with directv! Not long after, Skylar, my hygienist came in and did a marvelous job on my teeth. I met Dr. Maddocks afterwards and he was so friendly and showed me my teeth on the tv using a small camera. I've been seeing Dr. Maddocks for about 4 years now and every time he and his staff provides excellent service. He corrected a bad root canal performed in mexico, me trying to be cheap. After coming back to the USA, i had severe pain the area were the root canal was done. I went to Dr. Maddocks and he corrected the mistakes performed in Tijuana. After this, I became a recurring patient and since then I am a very happy with this decision. I have recommended Dr. Maddocks and Coast Dental to everyone I know for dental health. Had a first time patient appointment in their office (if that is a "name" for the personal room next to CVS). I truly do not believe there are a dental office; it is needless to hang all your certificates on a wall when you do not know how to practice neither how to run an office (forget about business). I usually do not write reviews and just take my business some where else but this time I must say it is a need as a human being to warn other people from coming here if you do not have the folllowing: -perfect teeth -rich or financial super well being appearance -1000% insuarance cover -have a dental or orthodontics degree -rude and disrespectful personality -ready to give thousands of dollars without a question Melissa who is the office handy girl under the name of "insuarance coordinator" who does not have a clue of what education is and I am not talking about academic education because it is clear she does not posses any (well to work there it really does not matter if you have it or not) they all have the same attitude (careless-rudness and gold digger) but she is an arroragant person who has no idea of how she makes a living, by means: from her job- dental patients whom she is rude to. Please avoid your waste of $80 for a joke of attention and look somewhere else without a doubt. read more

I went in for a simple teeth cleaning & was told I should have thousands of dollars of work ? I went to another dentist and he looked at my teeth and said I need nothing ( wow) This was over five years ago and I still have needed nothing to do with the work recomended. They did offer to finance with no interest the whole amount. I for one will not be going back and will not recomend to anyone. read more

Dr. Maddocks and his receptionist and dental assistants are friendly and very professional. The dental work is superior. The billing person (Sabrina) is not helpful when working with estimates and billing arrangements. In fact she is so rude and condesending that I am uncomfortable dealing with her. For this reason I would not recommend this dental office. I was warned about her over zealous attitude on billing matters and find it an insult to be treated in this way. Terrible. My husband and I made the mistake of going to Coast Dental. The office is beautiful, but we both noticed that the dentist (Tom Maddocks) doesn't treat his employees very respectfully at all. He felt the need to comment that I must brush with a wire brush and never floss...untrue and kind of mean. Oh, and he spent some time criticizing his immigrant customers' dental hygiene. We just moved into town, and sadly had to give up our great dentist in our old city. We were nervous about picking a new dentist, as you could imagine, but Coast Dental came highly recommended on yelp, so we gave it a try. From the time we made the appointment, to the time we walked out the door, we had a great experience! I brought my 2 kids and myself, and all three appointments were smooth sailing. Dr. Maddox never pressured me into more work than I needed, in fact, he fought hard to have me maintain my teeth as they were. Most people do not "love" going to the dentist, and I'm one of them-- however, when you have to, and you will--- Dr. Maddocks and his staff at Coast Dental are the best! I ended up needing a crown--- I know, I know--- most dentists may try to talk you into more than you actually need. But this was not the case here! I was able to see exactly what the doctor was explaining to me, via an overhead screen. This was in real time, so I knew exactly what I was looking at. He gave me a very realistic understanding of what was needed and then offered me two options-- I chose one and was on my way to a "fix" for my issue, within minutes. I have to say, the staff were all easy to communicate with, and showed empathy for me. I experienced no real pain throughout the procedure-- (a crown)--merely a little expected discomfort. I was spoken to in a kindly way, the entire time, by all involved, including the doctor. The procedure took much less time than I had anticipated, due to the easily observed skill and cooperation of the doctor and staff. Dr. Maddocks is obviously a well trained and experienced professional in his field, as are his staff. They also accept payment plans, which help tremendously with the "pocket book pain". I highly recommend this office!!! No problems here! I wil definitely go back for any other dental work!! Thank you Dr. Maddocks!!! You have my gratitude and have won my trust!
