Had to visit the office due to a crown coming loose. That procedure went okay, other than the staff constantly looking for tools to complete the repairs. Embarrassing watching them fumble for tools. So disorganized, HOWEVER, I scheduled a follow up cleaning the next week. Boy, that a tragic mistake. Set my appt for 3:30pm (so difficult for me to get time off to visit them, but they were down the street and in network, so scheduled). Walk in at 3;30pm (greeted by the sweetest receptionist) and then sat in the waiting room and twenty minutes after my appt time, ushered back into the x-ray room. Should have walked out at that point, as the radiologist tech seemed like this was her first day. Actually messed up some of my x-rays, causing additional radiation to be shot into my head because she messed up. She also kept trying to push teeth whitening with trays or bleaching. Of course, at a substantial cost. Declined, next. Finally got into the chair and the dentist came out to do a comprehensive exam on me. Of course, found problems that he had solutions for with a "treatment plan", which basically is paperwork with prices on them. Told him to hold off for now as I just needed to absorb the prices of the crown for last week. Next came Oscar, the hygienist. Told him I was there for a cleaning. Pokes and prods in my mouth, then disappears and comes back with a sheet of paper, again, for my "treatment plan". AT $750!!. Dude, I'm here for my cleaning, which should be paid by my insurance. "Well, I don't know how much your insurance will pay for this". I feel you probably should know how much my insurance is paying towards this. You asked me for my dental insurance cars at the intake. Why don't you know??? He also kept referring to the fact is was after 5:00pm and I was lucky he was still there? Ended up removing my bib and walking out. What a complete insult to me and a complete waste of two hours of my time. Office is in a min-mall next to a Harbor Freight and looks like it hasn't had any type of remodel in the last 10 years. Ceiling tiles loose and coming apart. Smell of desperation throughout the office. Avoid this office like the Black Plague or the Spanish Flu. What a terrible experience! The dentist is unpleasant, condescending and flat out rude with comments that could be construed as bigoted. He also suggested I have him redo some work that was previously done by a much more professional and experienced dentist; I plan to get a second opinion! In addition to the unpleasant dentist, I waited almost an hour in the waiting area. They "forgot" to mention they don't do cleanings on first-time visits, so I had to come back the following week to see the hygienist (who was actually nice and professional). However, when I arrived I was told they didn't have record of my appointment and asked if I could return next week! They was not able to match Crown to my front teeth every time they attend to do it it was horrible. end it took three weeks every time before they were doing new match so I end up leaving to Seattle with the temporary crown because they were not able to do proper match. I called to make an appointment for my three sons. The first question I asked was if they took our insurance. I gave all of the insurance information including the member number and was told that yes, they do take our insurance. I made the appointments. I took the day off from work and took my kids out of school as it was going to take at least 4 hours for all 3. We arrived a few minutes early and waited for 45 minutes after appointment time just to be told that they do NOT take our insurance. I asked why did they tell me they did take our insurance when I called them a month prior when I made appointments. "Sorry" was all I got. They also have a contract with my insurance company yet they are trying to still bill me which is not legal. After waiting arriving 10 minutes early for an appointment and sitting in the waiting room while they finally got around to checking my insurance, I was called in 25 minutes after my appointment time! I was presented with a "treatment plan" before even seeing the dentist in which they wanted to charge me for a full mouth X-ray and a panoramic X-ray knowing the insurance will only pay for one! When I refused, I had previously worked for a dental office, I was told to speak to the manager. A very rude woman who asked me "what my problem was " and said I had to accept both X-rays because it was policy. Dishonest. My mom used Coast Dental and prior to any work she got done by them, she made sure their staff cleared it with her insurance to make sure everything was covered. To our surprise we started receiving bills from Coast Dental. My mom is elderly and speaks little English, so it wasn't easy for her to address this on her own. I went to Coast Dental and spoke to Brandt, who looked into the invoices and told me that it was the insurance who had not covered the totality of the bill, therefore my mom was responsible for the difference. As I was still in their office, I got on the phone with mom's insurance, who advised that Coast Dental had overcharged their scheduled fees and they had covered their part. It was only when confronted with this information that Brandt finally adjusted their invoice to the insurance scheduled fees and my mom was cleared. So, this means that they were telling my mom the work was covered by her insurance, but at the time of billing they were overcharging her, without clarifying this information to her. If mom doesn't have someone to protect her from this dishonest practice, she would have had no option but to pay their excessive fees. I'll be staying clear from them and will make sure that mom, too. They are taking advantage of elderly people or anyone who won't do their homework. I wish I could give them zero stars. read more

I don't generally write reviews, but this place warrants one. It's terrible. It's a miracle if you an get out of this place in less than two hours. My last three appointments there was an average of 45 minutes in the waiting room, then you sit down and the assistant starts doing stuff, then you wait for the actual dentist which takes another 25 minutes before he gets to you because he has so many other patients he's working on. I keep getting apologies for how long it takes, but it takes the same amount of time no matter what because they're just trying to pack too many people in there. It feels like a factory. It seems like they're more concerned with making money than with actual dental care. The assistants are very pleasant, but that doesn't make it worth my time. read more

When I arrived they told me that my appointment was really at 10am and that they weren't responsible for their automatic system. Thank goodness I went somewhere else, and have been in for dental work 7 times already. I originally scheduled an appointment with Coast Dental while in my first trimester, and by the time they wanted to have my new appointment (assuming they didn't delay it yet again) I would be well into my third trimester, and too late for dental work. It literally would take me longer to grow and birth this baby than it would be to get into this office a single time. I had been waiting for months for my appointment. As a pregnant woman with cavities and a limited range of service providers within my insurance, I did my best not to get stressed out and to take as good of care of my teeth as I could at home. It was the soonest they could get me in, despite the urgency, and I respected that. In this waiting time I had a lot of tooth pain and a previous filling fall out. Then, less than a week before my long-awaited appointment, the office calls to tell me that the dentist will be out of office and that I won't be able to get in for over another month! I (calmly) asked why I was just now being told of this, when I could have spent that last few months finding a different dentist to get this problem taken care of, and I re-explain to the receptionist that I am pregnant and scared of the consequences of this tooth decay on my baby. She was so fake and canned in her responses that I felt completely mocked, and that my and my baby's health was just a joke to her. I have had a $2400 credit on my account for months and keep getting the runaround on when I will get that money returned. They refer you to the corporate office and all you get is an answering machine telling you to leave a message and they will return your call in 24-48 hours. they never do. This office has been a disaster for years. I have spoken to a District Manager and Vice President who only want to tell you how much better they are making this office and don't listen to your concern. This office has a different Dentist and different staff every time I go. This last time, the dentist and staff were not at all prepared for the procedure. They were constantly searching for necessary supplies before beginning. After sitting in the chair while they were on their hunt, I insisted she not do anything lengthy because I had an appointment with 2 new clients of mine. My wishes were completely disregarded and her will was encroached on me. With you mouth full of utensils and gauze, it isn't possible to make a call telling anyone I'd be late. Dr. Patel is amazing, everything else is awful. They eat lunch at their desks, violate HIPAA with phone calls and account info that can be heard from the lobby, they are never on time and it's dirty.
