To start, I've had at least brief interactions with a handful of those at Coastal and they've all been so friendly and give off such a welcoming vibe. The one I come here for is Jaylen and I followed her from her last salon. Jaylen has gone through a fully cycle with my hair - first came to her with red box dye in my hair, slowly went ginger for a while, then to a more natural low maintenance balayage, alllll just to get back to red again I might be an indecisive client but Jaylen ALWAYS is honest with ideas I have and executes EVERY TIME. I've tried a few different hair stylists and none of them are Jaylen. I won't ever go to anyone else to dye my hair. If I moved away, I would travel just for her to do my hair. She has NEVER let me down with my finished hair and aside from how great she is at what she does, she's just such a genuinely nice person that is so easy to get along with. I know this will sound like a exaggeration, but Jaylen gave me the best haircut I've ever had in my life. I'm a new mom and I experienced some postpartum hair loss, but Jaylen cut and styled my hair in a way that somehow makes me look like a shampoo model???? LIKE I DON'T GET IT. I was running my fingers through my hair after she worked on it, and it literally felt like someone else's head. Now I am thinking about it all over again and I am still not over it. Jaylen has done it once again! I cannot preach enough about how important self care is. I was in desperate need of a refresh for my scalp and hair and Jaylen far exceeded my expectations! Treated myself to the headspa and haircut package and it was 100000000000% worth it! She took her time to exfoliate my scalp and deep condition my hair. There was a beautiful bluish green light that shimmered off the ceiling to put you in the headspace of being by the water and just relaxing and melting away during the process. If I could leave 10 stars I would!! Kayshia has been my hairdresser for a couple of months now, when she did my hair & makeup for my wedding back in August 2023, I absolutely fell in love. Ever since, I continued to go to her and she never disappointments! She always makes me feel comfortable and when I want to try something new, she will be honest and let me know her opinion. I found Jaylen through TikTok and immediately set an appointment through her instagram page. I had history with my hair from a different salon, being blonde before, but then going over it with brown and was in the process of growing it out. In the before pic you can see how bright and dead my ends were. My inspiration pics were bright and blonde with dimension and she let me know because of my hair history she would try to lift as much as she could without causing breakage. Once we got close to the inspiration pic, I realized I didn't like the color on me. Jaylen was so nice and patient about it and gave me a few options. Re-tone the hair to a slightly darker color or wait a few weeks and try to lighten up the hair more. I decided to re-tone to a darker color and I'm ECSTATIC with the results.
