Belgium waffles with strawberry and whipped cream

This place was great! Food looked very nice, great plating. Food tasted very yummy!! And the servers were nice, and prices weren't bad for the area. It is a small little place tho, nothing big just something for the locals to have a nice breakfast! If you're looking for something nice and fancy's this ain't the place! But if you're okay with a smaller family owned little breakfast place this place is great! One of the best breakfast place I have been too in Washington!!

Basic cafe look, nice and clean, lot of people. Prices seem cheaper than average across the board. I like the manager/owner? Seems heavily involved. You can feel that employees and owner care about this place. A strong 4 stars. Food is above average cafe food as far as quality and taste. Fries were good, and all portions were good for the price. French toast is good for light eaters. A tip, your food is very good and well seasoned, don't use kraft cheese, good food with poor cheese, is slightly sad. Get a better brand. Why not 5 stars? It's hard to give a cafe 5 stars in my opinion, but this place nails basic food. Very safe pick and will come back.

It clearly says "COOKED WELL"! Ooooops!

I'm not sure how so many places can get breakfast basics and simple requests... so bad! I seem to have the absolute worst luck with breakfasts, which is probably why I don't frequent that many. Came in and ordered three French toast. That's it. Bread dipped in eggs (and milk / cream) and cooked on a griddle! I almost ordered a side of bacon and am so glad I didn't. I asked for three French toast, extra crispy. What I got was three soft / soggy French toast, at least 2 bites cold-ish from not even being cooked enough, and three different bright yellow yolk streaks that clearly didn't hit the heat, lol. It's sad because there aren't many places in the area. I rolled the dice and chose this one in spite of the under 3.5 ratings. Huge mistake. The waitress seemed nice enough, but how nice is she, REALLY, if she doesn't ensure that the ONE EXTREMELY SIMPLE thing I asked for, I didn't get??!? Wouldn't recommend it at all. To be fair, I had one item off of the menu... but the other recent reviews are far from complimentary. I'm only in the area for work - Hopefully, for the locals and tourists, they get things worked out!

Half of a 3 egg omelette, undercooked hash browns

This place was great when it was Anita's Coastal Cafe, now its just "Coastal Cafe" and the service was terrible, the prices were outrageous for the amount of food and let's just say I could have made a much better breakfast at home. We were totally disappointed with this place. It took over 20 minutes just to get a cup of coffee. We decided to split a 3 egg cheese and ham omelette. It came served on a small plate, looked like a kids portion and the cheese wasn't melted, the omelette itself was flat, looked more like a crepe. We also ordered it with a biscuit and a side of gravy. The biscuit was good, but the gravy was tasteless and watery. The hash browns were barely warm and basically was a portion of 2 tablespoons. The kicker was we had to pay an additional $2.00 just to share a meal.

My cousin and I stopped by this food cart after walking around the Astoria Sunday Market…read more It took 46 minutes to receive our orders after paying, and I'm pretty sure that's due to the staff being extremely stoned, but we forgave this as soon as we bit into our burgers. My cousin ordered the Oklahoma Double Smashburger, and I ordered the Bacon Black and Blue. I thought I had ordered a double, and she thought she had ordered a single, so we ended up moving one patty from her burger to mine. I was really, really hungry. I devoured my burger and fries. I was a little disappointed that fries were the only potential side (all burgers automatically come with fries), but, given how much trouble the staff had keeping orders straight, maybe they don't need to be adding menu items. The Oklahoma was the first decent Oklahoma smashburger I've found anywhere. Both of our burgers were true smashburgers, with caramelized patties. My cousin's had a lot of mustard and onions, while mine had bacon and blue cheese. I didn't love the amount of bacon and blue cheese. It's not my new favorite blue cheese burger of all time-- a spot still held by Gott's in California. But it was really, really good. Good enough to make us forget how annoyed we were at waiting 46 minutes for two burgers. The toppings were all fresh. The bacon and blue cheese were both top quality, although I wished there was a little more of each. The smashburger had really good flavor, but was on the lighter side as far as smashburger patties go. The cart was in a little food cart plaza with about ten carts surrounding a beer tap hall. The vibes were slightly more classy, beach like, and romantic as opposed to other food cart malls. Our burgers were about $18 each, which was definitely on the higher side, but that's what it's like ordering from a bougie food cart by the sea. We carried our burgers down to the alley with murals behind Pine Street Market for amazing photo ops on our way down to the ocean.

We own a house in Long Beach, and during the time we lived there full-time, this was our go-to spot for anniversaries and my husband's birthdays. It exudes that cozy, historic Seaview charm that invites you to relax and linger...warm, intimate, and full of character without being over the top. A true small-town and now not so hidden gem. My husband is a fan of their Old Fashioneds, particularly those with a smoked maple twist, and he often gravitates back to the slow-braised pork. Their current Southern Comfort Pork dish is just his style: slow-braised pork shoulder served over brown sugar yam mash with jalapeño creamed corn, green onion, and maple-bacon salsa. That's comfort food crafted with real culinary skill. As someone who follows a plant-based diet, I truly appreciate how The Depot makes an effort to accommodate vegetarian and vegan diners in a way that feels genuine rather than forced. Last winter, I was thrilled to discover the ginger-coconut soba noodles, they were flavorful, satisfying, and perfectly balanced. Their current mika soba noodles with garlic-ginger coconut cream, vegetables, toasted cashews, and cilantro are exactly the kind of dish I'm thankful to find on a Peninsula menu. I also have fond memories of Burger Wednesdays from our time on the Peninsula. It's incredible how satisfying a customized portobello burger can be when a kitchen understands texture and seasoning especially in a place where plant-based options can still be scarce. The food is fantastic, but the service deserves a special mention. While Peninsula restaurants are known for their good service, The Depot's service is exceptional: polished, friendly, warm, and just the right amount of attentive. Although we now reside in California, we plan to make another reservation when we return to the Long Beach Peninsula in July. I'm already looking forward to their summer menu. Note: I've forgotten to take photos so the ones on this review are from the restaurants social media - definitely a reflection of our last meal at The Depot without the drinks.
