I came in with my 11 year old diabetic cat who was pulling out her hair. Dr. Craig was so sweet to her, humming and singing to her. I love knowing she's being taken care of in a clinic that is just for cats. Dr. Craig isn't about extra and needless tests. She was honest and very helpful. The staff was all very sweet and nice and polite. I never felt rushed which is important to be able to ask questions. And they have science diet rx food which is a huge plus. Dr. Glahn is the best! She and her staff took exceptional care of my little baby kitten when he was having such uncomfortable GI issues. She was so easily accessible, and even responded to emails on her days off out of concern for my little one. We recently changed from a vet in the city (who we also liked) and this place is the, um, err, cat's meow!! They are taking excellent care of our senior citizen kitty (20 years young!). It is notable how caring they are for cats - you really do not feel like just another client. Since we have an older cat she has myriad issues and they take as much time as needed explaining all our options. This is a very personable place and we couldnt be happier with the care. read more

My older cat Nico had to have all of his teeth extracted, except the front four due to absorbsion and infection. He had lost a lot of weight and was pretty unhappy. The surgery took about 3.5 hours and recovery about 10 days. He's gained weight and is back to his normal self; purring, playful, snuggly etc. Thanks to Dr Thea Couture for doing a wonderful job on the surgery and for her wonderful manner. read more

I am a long-time client of CCC and I would not go anywhere else - mainly because of Cathy Glahn, DVM, one of the best vets I've ever had the opportunity of seeing and knowing. She is up-to-date on all new medical issues and treatments - she follows up thoroughly, is professional, kind, gentle and caring. Her dental surgery skills are top-notch. I very much appreciate Coastal Cat Clinic for several reasons. First Dr Cathy Glahn who is an excellent veterinarian who always puts her patients first and is super diligent in following up with clients (humans). She has supported me through many difficult decisions including when my cat was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Second, the staff are wonderful, knowledgeable and always gentle with my cats. Even my formerly feral cat isn't scared when she's at the clinic. Third, the clinic atmosphere is calm and tranquil. Having a cat only clinic is really the best for cats. This is a clinic where I can go with confidence knowing that my cats will have very good veterinary care in an environment that minimizes stress. read more

I have been taking my cats there for over 30 yrs, I remember when they started and Linda made house calls, after 30 yrs of never haveing a problem and always having excellent care for the my cat especially my cat is a little Hellion only when he has to go to the vets, like most animals they are scared, well I took my cat in for a visit and they know that my cat will scratch or bite if you try and get him out of his carrier it even says it on his file, so wouldn't that tell you to proceed with caution and use proper safety equipment instead of sticking your bare hands into his cage and trying to pull him out and he bite the technician such a minor little tiny tiny bite like it when you stick yourself with a sewing needle, so the next day I get a call from the costal Cat Clinic telling me that they have to send a bite report over to Animal Control and that this is a heads up that they we'll be coming over to my house and possibly having to quarantine my cat for 10 days precautions of rabies my cat is an indoor cat never goes outside he is harmless, oh yeah let's not forget that when they come out there going to charge you anywhere from 50.00 to 100.00 for the report filing cost, and I have to take off of work for this, now this is so ridiculous have to go through all this crap because their technician cannot read a file and put on the proper equipment to protect her hands from this is so ridiculous after all those years of going to the veterinarian's they want to start treating customers like this so every time that they are at fault I says the customers have to suffer the consequences that's very poor practice on there part, I would expect this if the cat was a wild cat and it wasn't a indoor cat and my cat suffers from asthma and is old he's 15 years old and has been going there since he was a month old, Really you are a veterinarian office you should know animals are scared and you should use proper precautions especially when they're file says on there my cat will bite and scratch so for their incompetence we have to pay we have to suffer the the price, I feel the care and customers care has really gone down hill. That is my cat that got animals control called on, and in top of that if I have to bring my cat back in the office he has to be sedated now that is ridiculous read more

I have to amend my previous glowing review of this practice. While Dr Glahn may still be a good vet, her office has some serious problems. I had taken my mortally I'll cat here last July and missed the follow up appointment a few days later due to her death. Although deeply upset, I had managed to attempt to leave a voice mail after hours, only to find the mailbox full. I also emailed them. When I later came back with a new fur baby, several months later, they told me I owed $30. for a "missed appointment " . They then said they would waive it due to the circumstances. A few weeks later I had to cancel an appointment due to my illness, and called about 2 hours before the appointment. I received a bill later stating that because of my "frequent " missed appointments, I was being charged a $30. Penalty and put on a cash basis. (I usually pay with Care Credit so I don't see why this is even an issue). So am I to surmise that I really wasn't forgiven for that missed appointment due to death? I can no longer recommend this practice due to their obviously confused and harsh office policies. I now go to Linda Mar Veterinary practice and I really am impressed with Dr Curcaro. Dr. Nancy Craig and her staff are compassionate and loving. My daughter drives from San Mateo to Pacfica for her cat because she doesn't trust anyone else for her cat care. My cat is 17 years old, Elsa is treated well and if she is sick gets in right away. They are purrrrfectly wonderful to our feline babies. This is so great for cats, it is serene and peaceful. No dogs only other felines which can be curiosity enough. They are up to date on all medical information when it comes to treatment. Elsa is living a long life because of these women! Elsa and I give them a 5 paw rating! read more

This review is for Dr. Couture. She is the most caring vet I have ever met and I've meant to write this review for a long time. She is incredible with kitties, but she's also incredible with us owners. She was a wonderful doctor to our kitty before he suddenly became very sick. He was only 10. He had a thyroid issue and declined so fast--in the span of 2 weeks we were having to make tough decisions. She was there with us through the end, offering kindness, fast responses, and just being so understanding through it all. It was a horrible process, of course, to say good bye to your beloved furry family member. But I will always remember her kindness in the process. read more

Nancy Craig has now shepherded two of our cats through the end of their lives. I cannot say enough about her skill, professionalism, and caring. We used to go to Linda Mar, CCC's sister clinic, but were happy to switch when CCC opened up, as we like the quieter setting. We've never been sorry. This may give you an idea of the caliber of care. One of the cats we have now, we got from Dr. Craig; another client had rescued our girl and brought her in, and we happily took her home. The very next day our kitten started throwing up and was completely unable to keep any food down. It was time for the e-vet, as it was a weekend, and then we transferred our baby back to CCC on Monday morning. The kitty was too sick to come home until Tuesday night. Dr. Craig couldn't do anything about the e-vet bill, but she was so mortified that the kitten had gotten sick so soon after adoption that she refused to take a penny of our money. ETA: I forgot to mention something way back when I reviewed this business the first time. After my black shorthair died (and this was a cat whom we'd kept alive for a long time after her diagnosis of renal failure; so much so that to this day they *still* call her "Miracle Kitty"), I got a condolence note from Dr. Amezcua, who was the attending that day--this is standard at CCC. I was very sad not to be able to take my girl to Nancy Craig after all of the love and care Nancy had shown her, but Dr. Amezcua was also very kind and supportive. The sweetest part is that I also got a card from Dr. Craig, who wanted to extend her sympathies even though she hadn't been the one to help me let my girl go. She loved that cat, too. But then she loves them all; that's what makes her a great vet. read more

Wouldn't think about bringing our cat Valiant to any other Vet. Dr. Glahn was patient and understanding with all the questions we had. Our cat had an eye infection and Dr. Glahn prescribed medicine that fixed it immediately. Then he had diarrhea and Dr. Glahn changed his diet which fixed it! It really matters that they are a "cat only" clinic because the expertise is something you won't get anywhere else. I love this place. I used to go to Linda Mar and my cats were skittish due to the dogs and the multi-animal smells. Now that I bring my 3 cats to CC, they are much calmer. Kyley loves to play 'pawsy' with the resident cat under the door. They all love cats there and are gentle and kind. My cats are happy and I'm happy. I even chose to have my vaccinations and other procedures done there at extra cost as it was so much easier on the kitties. read more

When I lived here the Coastal Cat Clinic and Dr. Glahn was my vet for my aging Felix. They were great and Dr. Glahn always had time for us and always explained everything really well. Felix eventually passed away at 19, but I think she had great care under the doctors who treated her for various reasons over the years we lived there. I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Glahn and highly recommend her. Now I live in Orange County and adopted a new cat and really really wish we had this clinic and Dr. Glahn as our vet down here. Finding a trustworthy, caring vet has been a big challenge and I wish we could drive to this little cat clinic in Pacifica and know that my new cat would get the quality care like my old cat had and not feel like I'm being taking advantage of. So far no vet down here has compared to CCC and that says a lot about this place and why I'm writing this review. Seriously, I was glad to find this place when I lived up there and definitely would recommend Dr. Glahn. An added bonus to having them as your cat's vet is knowing there's never any dogs in the waiting area! read more

I have to say, this place is amazing! Everyone who works here are super sweet and fantastic. They really know what they are doing and try to make it work with their patients (the cats ). My fat cat Oliver had a urinary bladder infection. I went to Banfield and they were going to charge me over $1200 to treat him. I went to Coastal Cat Clinic and they charged me around $400. Now that is a BIG difference. They are not about unnecessary treatment and digging at you for your money. They want to help you, help your little one. Well Oliver just seems to have bad luck! He also has bronchitis. Dr. Tanzella has helped me figure out what I need to do with Oliver. She explains to me what is going on and what needs to be done and the route we can take. She also knows that money can be an issue so she tires to work it out so you can do it. Oliver is now perfectly healthy and happy! Dr. Tanzella is such a wonderful women who really knows her stuff. The funniest thing about this place is that it is run by Juaquin.He roams around or rather lays around all day ;p You can definitely trust this place! read more

Costs here are extremely high compared to the costs of my vet in Southern California. The vet also takes a long time to follow up with test results. I had to call multiple times to remind the vet to call me back with results (I was told the results had arrived and the vet would call me one day, but she ended up not calling me). read more

Dr. Glahn is wonderful! She genuinely cares about animals. She and her staff were so gentle and patient with our old, scrawny, balding cat. She (the cat) had a hard time giving blood but the vet tech knew how to soothe and hold our kitty to complete the blood draw. I like that Dr. Glahn doesn't push expensive treatments and unnecessary tests for an elderly cat, but she will let you know what treatment options are available. Also the Dr. calls right away with lab results. Everyone there is so conscientious and friendly. The prices are reasonable and the clinic itself seems clean and well-organized. After being completely misdiagnosed & downplayed by my previous I vet I came to Coastal Cat with the desperate need to get a proper diagnosis of what was wrong with my cat. I owe everything I have to Dr. Glahn for literally saving my 13 year old cat's life. In all the years that I've been a pet parent I have never experienced such professionalism, knowledge, caring, & compassion shown by a veterinarian. My cat is extremely aggressive & was completely blown off by his previous doctor due to not wanting to deal with his temperament. Dr. Glahn was so amazing in dealing with him. She did everything she could before sedating him as the last option. She truly listened to every single one of my concerns and took very thorough notes. After an full exam & x Ray she knew exactly what was going on and immediately made arrangements for me to transport him to the speciality vet to have an emergency procedure to drain the fluid from his lungs. Without her expertise my baby would have died in the middle of the night. Dr. Glahn is a true doctor & amazing human being who truly cares for the well being of your cat. My 3 cats are all well treated. When my 3rd cat was dumped on my deck by its mom at 3 weeks, I brought him in. He was dehydrated, blind from a viral eye infection and malnourished. Dr. Glahn was wonderful, and talked to her friend, the veterinary ophthalmologist. He is now healthy, happy and has partial vision in both eyes. read more

Just wanted to say that Jim, the technician, does an awesome job with the cats and is great with nail clippings. Our cat is really a challenge to give nail clippings but with Jim...he gets it done quickly and will little issue. When my cat was recently very very sick Dr. Glahn was able to make a quick assessment and get me into see a specialty vet in SF with in 2 hours.
