We have been (La Cresta) customers of CoastiNet for over 5 years, and generally we have had good service albeit infrequently intermittent. They had to come out once a couple of years ago to replace the router, and that seemed to clear up the immediate internet yo-yo up and down. Beginning on June 1 we had no service at all, which includes internet, cell booster, and Television. We called several times and got a "we're working on it", but there was no indication of when the service would be back up. It was up again late Monday morning June 5th, but was back down again Monday afternoon. So we went almost 5 days without internet, television, or cell service, and had to drive down to Starbucks to use their internet and to get cell service. We would have preferred to stay with a local provider, but my wife works from home and we cannot be without internet or cell service. Sadly, we are going to give Starlink a shot. read more

Live in a rural area. Service has been great. No real down times. Speeds are close to what I expect. Approx 20 - 25mb download and 3mb upload. I've only had to call for tech help once or twice, quick response both times. Hoping they get additional bandwidth this year for faster speeds but satisfied with what they offer so far. read more

Customer service is NOT helpful, they advised my roomate to turn her picture resolution down (making the picture worse) on her tv in order to get even a slight signal. There has not been a single day that we have had this internet service that it worked smoothly. I have been a customer for a couple of years now. I have the gold package and this should give me about 10MBPS which realistically is about 7MBPS. It is better than DSL but also more expensive. My Wifi router started acting up and so I bought a new one since I need reliable internet because I work from home. Once I installed the new router I got an error message from Coastinet. So I called. I have now been told that i can no longer use my own wifi router and I need to lease their router. They have a 4.99/ month and 9.99/ month version. First, they never informed me of this change. Second, they want me to drive to Lake Elsinore to pick it up and who is going to return the router I just bought in Temecula? I asked for the supervisor but he cannot call me until Monday. I told them that he is probably too chicken to call. I don't want some cheap router that they can charge 9.99 a month for. I used to recommend them to my friends and neighbors but not anymore. I have spoken with them and they have upgraded their system and installed my router together with theirs. I am very happy with the outcome and will continue to be there customer. read more

Absolutely phenomenal service. We live in a rural area of Winchester and have been through absolute hell with our internet service through Virgin Mobile. We have been using a wireless hotspot and have purchased a total of 5 over the years at an expense starting at $225 for the first three of them. They each broke just after the warranty expired and would always overheat so we had to keep them in front of a fan. The service was terrible, and when calling tech support you could barely understand the operators in India or the Philippines. After 3 days our speed was throttled the rest of the month down to worse than dial up at its slowest and we are not heavy users of gaming or video or anything that takes up a lot of bandwidth. Finally at the beginning of a new month of service, inexplicably our hotspot stopped working. Over the next two weeks we were lied to repeatedly by Virgin Mobile service technicians until one finally told us that we had been lied to the entire two weeks since our hotspot quit working, that we were being cut off and would be forced to pay quadruple of what we had already been paying for the same terrible service, and that our hotspot would no longer work. They sent us a new 'free' hotspot that looks and functions like it came out of a Crackerjack box. They've 'allowed' us to get 1 gigabyte for the entire month for $25. I could barely check my email with that. At one point we had tried Verizon's wireless with another expensive hotspot and they were even worse, costing us $300 plus per month so we ended that and sold that expensive hotspot. It's been a long, slow, dragged out nightmare to say the least. And did I mention I need good internet for work or I have no income? Enter Tom and head technician Cameron of Coastinet. They have gone far above and beyond great customer service to connect us to GREAT internet. Our rural acreage was not easy to get connected and Coastinet have been flexible problem solvers at the lowest possible cost to us. I've been dealing with cable for a long time with lots of wires being strung across my garden, "iffy" internet speeds and having to constantly reset my router. Add high rates for this "service" plus lots of aggravation and disappointment. I recently discovered what is called fixed wireless internet. Coastinet that has been in business 17 years installs fixed wireless for very reasonable rates and fast installation. They are local to me and I really like that. It's all installed and didn't take long at all to do. I am now testing by watching YouTube. YouTube has been hiccupping so much that I have had to watch something else when it would begin skipping.
