This place is all about coffee. I've never met anyone more knowledgeable about beans than the owner/proprietor. He served everyone with a smile and will gladly talk about his coffee endlessly! I'm always in search of amazing espresso when I travel - I must sound like a broken record. Research turned up Origen and I set off one morning to give it a try. I was a little confused when Waze led me to an office parking area where I spotted an umbrella and what looked like a coffee stand. Undeterred, I parked and ventured over. It was the most unique, unusual and memorable coffee experience I've ever had. This place is for true coffee and espresso aficionados. The man working the kiosk referred to the place as a wine bar for coffee as the coffee is prepared, discussed and poured the same way fine wine is. If you love Starbucks, do not go here! If you love thoughtfully and artfully well prepared single Origen coffee, this place should not be missed. Ideally, the coffee should be ordered, prepared and consumed without dairy products so that you truly taste, experience and enjoy all the flavors. Ideally, it would be best to purchase a pour over, and they have a menu dedicated to them. It should be on every coffee and espresso addicts must go to list. Nestled in between business buildings in a kiosk, this coffee place is a hidden gem for the true coffee connoisseurs. No fluff here. During the time we went, 10:30am on Monday, there were plenty of parking all around the building where it is located. And only a couple people in the seating area by the koi pond. It was so quiet and peaceful. Only the sound of water pouring into the pond. A family owned business, Reuben the owner, knows his craft. He is so kind to explain all the variations of the pour-over menu items and we definitely tasted what we happily expected. Their coffees are SO good!! And the matcha latte surpassed my daughter's expectations and LOVED her drink. Perfectly balanced. Reuben's daughter, Paola, working with him, was equally friendly and helpful with the other menu items as well. We tried the jalapeño ham & cheddar croissant & the ham & swiss croissant, both were toasted in a panini press. Delicious! And the chocolate chip cookie, lightly salted. SO thick & good! Overall, it was a great experience. Not a huge menu but quality items. It's definitely top notch and we're going back!! Also I might add, they're only open til 2:00pm on the weekdays, closed at this location on the weekends because they're at farmer's markets. read more

Coffee: I'm really not the type to exaggerate, but this was the best iced coffee I've had in a while. Several different types of beans are available if you prefer specific regions/flavors over others. Food: Ham & Swiss Croissant was excellent. Freshly made, and it was carefully cut evenly in the middle for convenient eating. Service: Super nice guy. Went out of his way to suggest one coffee type over another given what I was going for and time of day. Parking: Plenty. Parking lot adjacent to corporate offices. Seating: Outdoor 4-person tables next to the coffee shop. Umbrellas and overhead shade, a few sets of comfy lounge chairs. Vibe: Koi pond with ducks, turtles, etc with a mini bridge connecting the parking lot to the shop really set the mood. Perfect for solo adventures as well as datesn, casual studying/relaxing. Origen is definitely not in a place you'd expect to find a coffee shop but it has quickly become one of my favorites. There aren't any fancy flavors, but you don't need them when the drink is made perfectly. Service is always fantastic and there's a neat Koi pond next to the coffee stand where you can enjoy your coffee. I was going to settle for the free hotel coffee this morning but they ran out and wouldn't make another pot. So I figured if I was going to have to go out for coffee, I might as well get good coffee and that's how we stumbled upon here en route to Legoland. I stayed in the car with the kiddo while my husband went in and ordered. He said the guy working the place was really friendly. He brought me out a vanilla latte and it was perfection. I hate when lattes are overly sweet. This had just a touch of sweetness and you could still appreciate the actual coffee itself. My husband was happy with his Americano too. We chatted for a few minutes about what I like, how I usually take my coffee, and he made a fantastic recommendation! I did a pour over of his recommendation straight up, which I don't typically drink coffee without cream and sugar. But it was so delicious that I didn't need anything more. It's an unassuming spot, just a tiny shack with some outdoor seating, but the weather is generally nice enough that it's a perfect spot. Amazing coffee and service! Ruben greeted us and was so thorough introducing the coffee menu letting us know that the sky is the limit for how your drink could be prepared. He also gave some info about the coffee roasting that is done every other day. You can't get coffee this fresh anywhere! The pourover I had here is the best cup of coffee I've gotten in SoCal. Barista (also co-owner?) went with a Clever Dripper brew method, after carefully explaining the different beans available for pourover. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews of this place. We went the day after Christmas and they were very friendly and happy to answer questions, talk shop and beans, and about their farm. There weren't a ton of people so the owner even gave us a complementary pastry! This place is a bit hidden away, yes, so it's a detour to go for coffee here. It may just be a matter of preference, but I've spent a couple weeks running around trying out different specialty coffee spots and this one came out on top for flavor. read more
