One boot clicks in the heel every time I take a step. I do not think it was glued down properly. Was told it would take 14 days, I waited 3 weeks before I called to check on my boots. When they shaved down the new sole they took too much off in some spots and left one heel at a slant. Some areas are coming apart and I have only worn the boots maybe a weeks while I treat my other work boots. read more

I originally took them to Nicky's Shoe Repair on Tapo Canyon and was told it would cost at least $85 minimum to clean (he also became verbally abusive and yelled at me that I was wasting his time.) What I got at Cobbler's Bench was a friendly and kind greeting and a quick cleaning of my shoes within 5 minutes for $25! For my husband he steamed the shoes to help loosen them up. Never once made me feel pressured to buy. I've brought over 5 pairs of shoes and wallets to Levine to fix. I had two pairs of Christian Louboutins that needed repairs to restore their beauty. After calling few places in Simi Valley, this was the only one that answered. Based on the positive reviews online, I decided to give them a try, especially since they had experience with repairing designer heels. The cost was about $100 per shoe. They did an excellent job, fixing major damage to the heels, replacing the leather, and adding new red bottoms. The turnaround time was about a week. Overall, the service was fantastic. However, be aware that they also have a location in Thousand Oaks, so don't get confused if they mention physically being there. Additionally, parking is limited on weekend mornings as they share a lot with a restaurant. read more

After looking at the dismal reviews for the nearby shoe repair shops and seeing the high reviews for this one I decided to take a chance and the extra time to make the drive here. WOW not only did they do an excellent job, I was pleasantly shocked by the lower than expected price. I typically take reviews with a grain of salt, but in this case they were spot on. They were incredibly friendly, the guy who handles the shoe cleaning portion of the store, said he owned the same exact kind of expensive shoes I brought, which immediately made me trust him. Even after that, he tried to give me some pointers to DIY it at home just so he didn't have to charge me any money. I trusted him so much. I paid him to do it anyways, but the fact that he even tried to do that incredibly nice! He also did an amazing job on my shoes. Difficult to get in contact. Took almost a month for my repair and I was not happy with it. Communicated that I was not happy, he took them back, worked on them, another month goes by, and im still not happy. I think there are certain styles that he does not know what hes doing and the craftsmanship shows. I did not get offered my money back and I didn't ask for it because he lost a customer who has a lot of shoes to repair and a lot of friends who come to me for referrals - which is more than what he charged overall. read more

It's about time I wrote a review for this place, and this person. Levine is a magician with shoe repair, both structurally and aesthetically. I used to live with imperfections in a favorite pair of dress shoes or athletic shoes; now I take them to Levine and I don't really have to say anything, and a few days later they'll be back to me closer to new than I could have imagined was possible. Stains on light suede, faded leather and complex blending of colors (such as progressive hues on high-end dress shoes), even damaged and faded white on tennis shoes -- so many of my favorite shoes have been given another life. The price is always reasonable, but frankly the quality of the work is worth more than what he charges. I happen to have run into Levine a few times on the hiking trails above Wood Ranch, and outside of work he is as warm and kind and genuine as he is when you stop by his shop. I don't write many reviews, but this five-star from me is long-overdue. Thank you Levine for being the best at what you do, and for being a good human being. read more

I'm mentioning that because if you're just looking for a shoe repair on Yelp and then drive to find it you might have a hard time finding it. The parking lot is either right next to Taco Bell, or you can park on the other side of Egg House by the liquor store and walk over. This place is super reasonable, quick and they do really good work. My husband had some mid-end dress shoes (Allan Edmond) that were really worn and they made them look brand new. He did not request partial payment, he finished repairs same day. These are not the most expensive shoes, but I like them, so I am willing to repair (see my uploaded photos). Other people tell me, "just by new ones", why my shoes are hot! What is different: Shop was hard to find, I did not see the store front, as you have to drive past other store fronts well into the parking lot to see his small sign and small window. I have taken many repair items to Levin previously and he has ALWAYS done a great job. Last week I took one of my Harley boots to the shop that needed a patch on top. He had resoled these boots a couple years ago and did a great job, as always. However, this time not so much. Went in on Monday, Levin wasn't there. His "Uncle" was, so I left the boot with him. He said Levin would call when he had finished it. No call, so I stopped by on Friday. His Uncle had no idea where the boot was. He and I looked all over. He finally called Levin. He told me Levin had the boot in TO with him and it would be done on Monday. Checked back on Monday, no one there. Went in on Tuesday and once again his Uncle was clueless. I found my boot this time on a shelf and nothing had been done to it. On another shelf was a 1.75L of Seagrams7. Guess that's why his Uncle is clueless. VERY DISAPPOINTED with the Cobbler shop. I took my daughters purse here to be repaired and paid the $10 fee in advance so she could just pick it up after her honeymoon. The gentleman who took my order put "paid" on the receipt and said it would be done early the next week. When I called to follow up the next week he said it would be done later in the week. I told my daughter she could go then to get it and that is was already paid for. I had the receipt with me. She went to the store and was told it wouldn't be done until the next week. She asked them to call when it was finished. They ended up finally calling me to say it was finished and my daughter went to pick it up.
