Fantastic service. Met with a very friendly welcome into the shop in hardly no time at all. I had some old leather boots that I didn't know were worth repairing at all since I had bought them at a Goodwill for about 8 dollars. The proprietor informed me they were in fact genuine leather and that the heel that had come loose was an easy fix for him. About a week later (my choice as I was in no hurry) I stopped by and he had replaced the entire worn sole to brand new, much more then I expected when he quoted me basic repair costs. They are like brand new now, he buffed and polished my second hand store boots into brand new quality. Western boots are unique in that they conform to one's feet, becoming more like an old pair of sneakers, but not inexpensive to replace. My oldest pair of every day, suede leather boots needed repair as half the Factory stitching was worn through and the sole beginning to separate. I agreed to new heals and half resole on Monday morning with notice they would be ready Friday. Jack had impressed me with his voluminous Before and After pictures of his work on everything from boots to old white Running Shoes, so I was confident my Tony Lama boots were in good hands. Today I was shocked to see joy 20 year old suede boots BETTER than new! The suede was shaggy where Wrangler cuffs met suede, nearly gone in other spots, and a tad water spotted, generally showing their Classic Age. I had 5 pairs of boots that needed either re-heeling, new insoles and/or new tipping. One pair was vintage 1980's and the others were pricey ones to even less expensive brands but definitely these were my favs and some of my most comfy stylish boots that I couldn't wear because they needed some Aesthetical HELP! I also needed re-heeling on two of my favorite high heels. I found Benton Shoe repair via Yelp and saw the reviews and had to see for myself if this is the go-to place when it came to care for shoe repair! Jack was very friendly, helpful and knowing that he has background experience in shoe design, I felt confident with him doing the work. I told him I wasn't in any rush, to take his time. Within days I received a call saying they are ready for pick up. I did leave a pair of boots which we weren't sure if they were salvageable, and of course those were my most comfy favorite stylish boots for work. I picked up my order and may I say.......all my future shoe repair needs will be take to him. He was affordable and his work is impeccable. This place is a scam. Do not have your expensive suede shoes cleaned or waterproofed here. They will promise you that they will brush, recolor and waterproof, but they will not deliver. I got my suede boots and the first thing I noticed was they were EXACTLY THE SAME when I dropped them off. The leather did not smell like it was treated with waterproof spray either. All they basically did was brush the leather, which I could have done myself in 2 minutes, and they even made a stitch fray. Yet, they charged me $25 for their nonexistent work. Oh, they also left the soles dirty btw. They could have at least scrubbed those but, no - still the same. Like most service-based businesses on this site with 5 stars, I do not get why this place has such wonderful reviews because I doubt my experience here was a one-off. read more

Jack is a magician with shoes! I couldn't be happier with the job he did. I took Jack a pair of beloved sandals that belong to a friend. They no longer make them and they were in desperate need of new soles and some serious TLC. We went to several other shoe repair shops before Benton and the prices were unreasonable for what we needed done. They would have eventually ended up in the trash had we not found Jack. Brought my daughter's mucked up and torn tall riding boots to be patched and cleaned up. I really didn't want to buy her a new pair. There was a hole worn through the leather on the inside of one from where she would press her leg on her saddle. When I picked them up I couldn't believe they were the same boots! The patchwork was beautiful and was done on both boots. They were cleaned up and shined better then when they were new.
