My husband and I went to Cobblestones the other night to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary. We had such a wonderful dining experience from the service down to the dessert. We started with the buffalo tenders, which were the best I've ever had. Then for the main course, I had the lobster rizotto and my husband had the surf and turf (prime rib and lobster tail). Very disappointed in the service. Visited the lounge for pre-concert drink and appetizer with a small group of friends. Seating was at a minimum and no attempts were made to seat customers as they arrived and waited. The bartender lacked any customer service and social skills. Never experienced anything like it. Disappointing to say the least. On a positive note, the waitresses in the bar area who were assisting other customers at tables, appeared to be very attentive and personable. Bottomline, wouldn't recommend it for pre-event meal. read more

Disappointed with all aspects of our dinner experience. Service was only fair, drinks were weak, and the meals themselves were ordinary. Prices were quite high! A $31 filet mignon was small, somewhat overdone, and rather flavorless. We will not go back. read more

Mac and Cheese very simple but outrageously priced, tasted okay like any supermarket type.

We chose Cobblestones largely because it was half between our two parties of 6. Easter is a crazy time to get a reservation for a party that size that accommodates everyone. None of us had ever been there before, but it looked very appealing from the pictures and reviews. We were accommodated very well from beginning to end. The staff was amazing, very attentive and good natured. We can be handful, lots of special needs and picky appetites. The Easter menu was slightly restricted to help the kitchen out and everything was well made and delicious. I had braised short ribs that were fork tender and tasted amazing. Portions are large but it did seem as if it took a while for our food to come out. The shrimp cocktail and truffle fries were also big hits for appetizers. The bar is well stocked and cocktails were well made. Overall, we had a great time and left well fed. My only negative was the lack of accessibility for the handicapped. read more

I would never recommend this place to anyone. We planned a 75 guest cocktail style wedding reception with open beer and wine bar on the third floor. My mother, husband and I went to Cobblestones several times in the months before the wedding to plan our party at Cobblestones. We didn't want a traditional wedding reception; we wanted more of a party feel for the reception. Cobblestones left us feeling so confident that this cocktail party would be perfect- it wasn't even close. Cobblestones was understaffed and overbooked. They had two other functions going on in the restaurant that night. When I arrived there were no linens and no china on the tables we had requested and paid for. There was clearly not enough food and only one staff person on the floor serving 75 people! This was EXTREMELY embarrassing to my husband and I considering our intention with not having a sit down meal was not to be cheap and not feed our guests- we just wanted a more causal party vibe. We addressed with Cobblestones in the planning visits that we wanted to make sure there was plenty of food esp. if we were having an open bar. We were assured that there would be enough food with the package we ordered, but we even ordered extra items to make sure there was almost too much food. Needless to say, we were shocked at the lack of food and servers. This was a detail we couldn't believe fell apart. Thankfully we brought our own cupcakes for desert, but we had paid for and planned a coffee station- this was "forgotten" by the staff. The open bar was not stocked well and they ran out of items very early. They also ran out of wine glasses ??? The sound system was terrible!! This greatly upset me, because I had asked to hear the sound system prior to the party and I was told by the manager that she didn't know how to turn it on. She assured me the sound system would be fine on the day of my party- not true. It was truly disappointing for the thousands of dollars we spent there in food and alcohol that cobblestones had such poor service and lack of preparation. I would NEVER recommend this place. Cobblestones did apologize and gave us some of our money back, although they refused to explain why things fell apart so badly. read more

The food was fine. The service is awful. We had a waitress that claimed she has been in this profession for 10 years. It started with serving our appetizer without plates. We had to stopped several servers including the hostess, before we were giving any plates. By that time, the two appetizers were cold. Next, we ordered our main course. 20 minutes went by before she came back to the table and informed me that my choice of main course was no longer available. Another 10 minutes goes by and she came back and informed one of my guest that her entree was not available as well. We than asked for bread, which we did not get. We were really hungry. We had crab cake and calamari for appetizers, when cold it does not taste good. Bread did not arrive for another 10 minutes. Another 20 minutes goes by, we got our main entrees. Three arrived at the same time. The fourth took another 5 minutes. We ate rather quickly at this point. She came back and asked if we would like coffee and dessert. Three people asked for coffee, only two people got theirs. We had to asked her again for the third person. Not one word of sorry. All the coffee were served without spoons. We had to stir with our used knives that she did not clear from our table. Our 2 desserts did not come for another 15 minutes, even though we ordered the coffee and desserts together. Then she gave our check within seconds of the dessert. "I am leaving shortly, please pay the check now". What kind of service is that ? It is not a cheaply priced restaurant. We took her she was terrible in job. The manager then came over and defended her. I will never go back. Our check for 4 people came to $190.00, with two people not drinking any alcohol. ill be honest, ive only had the ruben and the boneless buffalo tenders on the suggestion of a co worker. they were both so good, theyre all ive ever ordered. the best around for sure. didnt give 5 stars due to above average pricing. read more

We will not be back unfortunately. I have been here for lunch not too long ago and I was not very satisfied but my friend suggested we come here so I obliged. Our spinach and cheese dip took very long to arrive and when it did it was lukewarm. My salad had bacon on it, which I cannot eat, so I requested to have it taken to be fixed. The server had my salad in her hand and was speaking to another server in the dining room while both were rolling their eyes as if my request was out of the ordinary. The same salad I sent back was given to me again with the pork picked out but there was still bits of it visible. I unfortunately couldn't eat my salad again. My friend said her cheeseburger was was very much overcooked and the french fries were soggy. Nothing on her plate was salted so it was bland. My brother's grilled chicken salad was also not salted and the chicken was dry. The greens underneath were not the freshest and he did not eat much. We paid a very steep bill and received poor food but was most disappointing was feeling like I was a burden to the server after receiving something I couldn't eat. read more

Recently we went to cobblestones after a college graduation. We had booked a reservation a week in advance and the person to whom I spoke stated that is good because it may be busy. Upon entering the establishment looked great. Cozy neat and clean. We were promptly seated. We had a party of 10. Our server was awesome! He was right on top of things and so pleasant. We were told there was no potato salad and no pretzels. We ordered drinks and some apps. They were good. We now get ready to order meals and we were told there was no roasted chicken or ribs, we had to find something else, which we did. Now the server tells us there was no mashed potatoes so some of us would have to order something else. Not happy with this we managed to get salad. We wanted a cup of tea, and the server brought out a cup and saucer, which was replaced abruptly with a coffee mug. No tea at all. This wouldn't have been bad, but the restaurant opens at 11:30 and it was only 1:30. Six items not on the menu two hours after opening is absurd. Potatoes and tea of all things!!! Never have I ever been anywhere else where you are out of six items 2 hours after opening for the day. I would not recommend this place because I would not want this disappointing experience happening to anyone else on a special occasion. Remember there are other restaurants in Lowell so you may want to plan your kitchen items a little bit better or others will go elsewhere. read more
